Josie and Noah are busy redecorating their spare room in preparation to hopefully welcome an adopted child. Josie gets called out to a fatal stabbing at a nearby building site, She returns home to find their home trashed, a lot of blood and Noah is missing. Frustratingly, she is unable to take part in the investigation because of her relationship to Noah. All her friends and family rally round and her colleagues try to keep her as up to date with the progress as possible. Is Noah alive or dead? There are echoes of Josie's troubled childhood. Although this can be read as a stand alone novel it would be best to read the series from the beginning as a lot of references are to what has happened in the past. A brilliant edge of the seat novel and a teaser at the end to the next in the series.

Lisa Regan has written an impressive twenty-two books about Josie Quinn, and I can confidently say—I love them both. At this stage in a long-running series, it would be easy to fall into repetition, but Regan masterfully keeps each installment fresh and compelling.

This latest book is absolutely outstanding! The tension is at an all-time high as the case becomes deeply personal for Josie—intruders break into her home, and they don’t stop there. They take the person she loves most. It doesn’t get more personal than that. Or does it?

As the story unfolds, we delve even deeper into Josie’s past, uncovering secrets she didn’t even know about herself. We meet some of her long-lost relatives and finally gain insight into why her mother became the twisted, cruel woman we’ve come to despise.

I love books like this—where the personal stakes are just as gripping as the mystery itself. The best stories are the ones that not only challenge the protagonist professionally but shake them to their core emotionally. This book delivers on both fronts, making it an absolute must-read. What’s not to love?

Prepare to have your heart ripped out while reading this one folks. This is Josie Quinn at her finest. Noah is missing and all clues lead back to the evil woman that started it all- Lila, the woman that stole Josie as a baby. Trinity and Josie work behind the scenes to try to find him while Gretchen and Turner are doing the police work. There are so many twists and turns to this story that your head will be spinning until the very end. I felt like I was racing the clock trying to get to the last page. Great story, great ride. Can’t wait to do it again! All the stars.

This was such a twisted and intense installment. Josie and Noah have the kind of relationship where they lean on each-other especially through the hard cases. So when Noah is missing and Josie can’t be part of the investigation, Josie’s world unravels. This was such a well written mystery, I truly wasn’t sure where this case would lead. I loved the further development of Josie’s relationship with Trinity and the rest of her family. And be prepared for a shocking surprise at the end! I can’t wait to read the next Josie Quinn book!

Another fantastic read from Lisa Regan! I love sinking into her novels with familiar characters and exciting stories. This was a great travel companion for a cross country adventure. A bit dark and tense but told with love and compassion. All round fab read!! Don’t let this one pass you by.
Thank you NetGalley, Lisa Regan and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Okay this is DEFINITELY my favorite book in the series (I know I say that almost every time a new one comes out), wow!! My heart was racing the whole time, I cried a little and I can’t wait to reread it.

My favorite part is that we get a mix of Josie’s past (Lila) and her present (Noah) and future (Child?) all in this book. It was the perfect mix.

I’m also really enjoying the new character Turner’s development. A few books ago I hated him, but I’m actually enjoying him now. He grew on me! Which was a very hard task for Lisa Regan to do because Mett was a favorite. Great read!!!

I’ve been following the Detective Josie Quinn series ever since the very first book came out, and it is without doubt one of my favorite detective thriller series. I’m always looking forward to spend more time with its characters, so it’s a treat whenever a new sequel finds its way to my kindle. Husband Missing follows the same formula I’ve become used to with these books… Although this sequel in particular will hit VERY close to home (as the title already suggests). It's without doubt another successful sequel that isn't afraid to toy with your heart along the way.

While technically you could read Husband Missing as a stand-alone, I personally wouldn’t recommend it. This series focuses a lot on the personal development of the main characters as well as the actual crime, and it’s best to read the series in order both for the character background and because you will avoid spoilers this way. This sequel in particular includes multiple references to previous cases/books AND hits very close to home, so this makes reading the series in order even more important. The case itself also has links to the past, so you've been warned.

I loved meeting up with Josie Quinn and the rest again, although I admit it wasn't under the best circumstances with what happens to one of my favorite characters. I'm still actively disliking Turner, and having to deal with his antics, sexist comments, lack of teamwork and laziness over and over again really started to frustrate me. Sure, he is better than the previous books, but I just don't think this series needs this conflict when there is so much else going on. That said, thankfully he was a bit less present in this book, but this is mainly due to the fact that Josie Quinn is sidelined from the official investigation as she is too close to it.

This series isn't afraid to hit you where it hurts, and Husband Missing is another sequel that will hit very hard. I literally kept fingers and toes crossed that everything would be okay in the end, because like Josie I wasn't ready to deal with the alternative... There are a lot of angles in play and there is the official investigation as well as Josie looking into things with her twin sister on the side, but it was interesting to see how everything came together in the end. There were definitely a couple of twists I didn't see coming at all! There was also plenty of danger and suspense to be found along the way, and there was a certain part near the end where my heart almost stopped.

If you are looking for an engaging, fast-paced and suspenseful detective thriller, I can highly recommend this series in general. Things can be said about the credibility, but the entertainment factor is high! I already can’t wait to see what Josie and the rest will be up to next (although I can’t deny that I’m not looking forward to meet up with Turner again).

Lisa Regan has done it again! Husband Missing is book #22 in her Josie Quinn series and it is a strong five stars for me.

Detective Josie returns home after investigating a murder, and finds blood splattered everywhere and her husband, Noah missing. With the help of Trinity, Josie soon realizes that things are not as they seem and that her past is raising it's ugly head.

Regan has such great character development, the reader learns a little more in each book. She has a way of giving little details that make the reader be able to visualize the scenes. Regan truly has a talent for keeping the reader engaged and wanting more.

While this is book #22, it could be read as a stand alone. I personally think the whole series is fine stars, so I would recommend reading them all! I am going to be waiting patiently for book #23!

Husband Missing releases March 19, 2025.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the digital ARC.

Husband Missing was great from the start to finish! This was one you do not want to put down.
Josie arrives home to find her husband missing and it sets the whole book in motion. She's too close to the case so Josie is not allowed to investigate. So you think it will stop her?
Absolutely one of the best books in this series! The ending makes you want more and ready to have the next book in your hands!
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book for my honest review.

It’s becoming harder to write a review for the latest Detective Josie Quinn book. Every time Lisa Regan writes a new instalment of this series I wonder how she does it. Every story is different and exciting. In Husband Missing we see another side to Josie. The missing husband is indeed the love of Josies life, Noah. Josie is completely lost and vulnerable without him. Even Trout, their little dog is out of sorts. (I love Trout). Josie and Noahs families gather to help and Josie slowly realises that her own past could be the clue to where Noah is.
I’m waiting with bated breath for the next episode, book 23.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Fans of Josie Quinn will not be disappointed! The plot is twisty, the character development is well done, and the author does a great job of tying it all up for readers. If someone has not read the series, the backstory might be a little overwhelming, with 22 books to cover, but Regan does a nice job of mixing that in with the current mystery, and it's all related. I'd say it's an easy 5 start for series fans, maybe a 4 for newcomers, so I'll give it a 4.5 but rounded up because of the great writing.

Absolutely riveting addition to the Josie Quinn series.
Coming home to discover her house's contents upturned with blood and a bullet in her
wall and her husband Noah, missing, sends Josie off on a race against time to
find him.
Kept from the active investigation because of her personal connection, she chases down leads and suspects, on her own, with her sister helping which puts her back into the circle of her dead mother's criminal life and associates.
Great suspense with twists and turns that you will never see coming.
The characters are extremely interesting and well developed with plot twists that are amazingly delivered with intrigue and enticing page turning pull.
Non stop quality mystery and thriller reading.
GREAT read.

Husband Missing is another gripping installment in Lisa Regan’s Detective Josie Quinn series that kept me engaged from start to finish. The story takes a deeply personal turn when Josie comes home to find her house ransacked and her husband, Noah, missing. The chilling clues, including bloodstains and ties to Josie’s past, propel her into a tense and emotional investigation.

Regan masterfully balances suspense and character development, making it impossible to put the book down. The twists and turns kept me eagerly turning pages, desperate to uncover the truth. This is a must-read for fans of the series and anyone who loves a fast-paced, emotional thriller.

This novel starts out on a positive note - Noah and Josie are putting the finishing touches on the walls for the “hopefully” soon to be nursery. They have been approved for adoption and are just waiting for the call.

The novel quickly moves in another direction as Josie comes home that evening to find her home ransacked and Noah missing!!

“Every fiber of Josie’s being screams to investigate. But her team warn her to keep her distance as they follow a connection to a recent robbery in Denton. But Josie can’t quiet the voice telling her the handprints Noah left are leading her somewhere, and the trail ends at an upturned box of her long-dead abusive mother’s faded photos, jewelry, a lock of hair, and a few old newspaper clippings.”

The blurb for this novel is extensive. In this novel we spend A LOT OF TIME IN JOSIE’S HEAD!!

With Josie sidelined from the investigation and with Noah out of the picture - there isn’t as much action to propel the story.

There are several mysteries to solve in addition to Noah’s disappearance. Lots of characters to keep track of in the past and present. In the end, Ms. Regan ties everything together.

There is great writing here, as always, and I enjoyed watching how these characters have grown through the series. Noah is one of my favorite characters and the interaction between him, Josie, Trinity, and other characters is what made the other books quicker and more fun reads for me.

This was a buddy read with DeAnn, Brenda, Debra and Carolyn. Be sure to r

Lisa Regan never disappoints and her newest book was no exception. Husband Missing is the 22 book in her Josie Quinn series. It is an exciting and fast paced read with an ending and cliffhanger I didn’t see coming. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

Josie Quinn is back in book 22! And if you’re more observant than I am, you may already know what (or rather who) the title is referring to. Me? I just assumed the title was another generic reference to the case, so when Josie’s beloved husband Noah goes missing to say I was shocked is an understatement! It’s all hands on deck to figure out what happened to Noah…especially since Josie can’t investigate in an official capacity. Why would someone take Noah? Will they find him safely and in time?

Seeing Josie’s human side is becoming more and more common. Gone is the detective who drank, lived in the past, and struggled making connections. Josie goes through all the emotions and then some, which Regan does a great job in making us feel for her. The only thing I didn’t like was that Josie was sidelined! I know obviously conflict of interest and this would have to happen. However, we don’t get the normal solve the case perspective and are more removed from some familiar characters like douchebag Turner (who I still want a story about so we can finally uncover his past) and even Gretchen. Although, we get more Trinity, which is always a win! It was also cool to see how the past can come back to haunt people and the ending was so touching (before the big cliffhanger, that is). I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Josie Quinn was working on finishing up a long shift. The construction of a pediatric hospital was underway despite local residents not liking the problems connected with neighborhood disruption. Quinn´s department was called out to hinder any difficulties. Brewing anger began between the crowd and the construction workers. The daughter of the firm was stabbed and killed. People formed a chaotic mob hindering police action. By the time things became settled with the CSI team leaving, no answers became clear. Josie headed home late thinking how wonderful it would be to find Noah waiting and Trout by the door to greet her.
Husband Missing will be published by Bookouture on March 19, 2025. I was able to read and review Regan´s latest Detective Josie Quinn via NetGalley. When the description hit the news regarding #22 in the Quinn series, readers were stunned by what was yet to happen. Their home would be destroyed and Noah kidnapped. Knowing the protagonist and her partner from the beginning of the series, the tease of Husband Missing hit hard on her readers, me included. I couldn´t believe Lisa Regan would murder a main character but then who knows??? Don´t miss this one and good luck putting it down.

Action packed and heart-wrenching! Lisa Regan shines at heartfelt suspense and this edition of Detective Josie Quinn really lets her shine as she delivers worry and despair all at the same time as keeping a case fresh and addictive in the forefront! It's always a joy to watch Josie tear a case apart and get justice for those wronged, but when a case personally touches her, we get to see the heart of the person she is when she has to come to grips on her fear and emotions while still prioritizing getting to the truth in time to make a difference. Great core cast, great suspense and really filled with heart in each and every book. I can't wait to see what's next for Josie!
