Noah is missing, and Josie’s world is teetering on the edge. This case was understandably overwhelming for Josie and, at times, difficult to read. Gretchen had Josie’s back, and even Turner, somewhat unexpectedly, proved to be a source of support. Josie’s entire family – especially her sister – rallied around her, making it heartwarming to see the unwavering support she had gathered.
The case itself was fantastic, very complex, and I think it’s one of my favorites in the entire series. Just when I thought every detail of Josie’s past and her kidnapper mother had already been explored, I was proven wrong. The twists kept coming, and the way everything connected in the end was both surprising and satisfying.
That said, I was a bit disappointed with the ending; it wasn’t the direction I had hoped for. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author Lisa Regan for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Another excellent book in this series. Detective Josie Quinn is a brilliant character and as usual she has so much thrown at her in this book. I was interested to see how she would cope when she was removed from cases when her husband was abducted, but she was as tenacious as always, encouraged by her twin, bending rules (and credibility in places!) to get to what she needed. The story of her nemesis Lila was threaded throughout and skilfully done to bring the different strands of the plot together. I enjoyed trying to work out how the different cases would link together, and was blindsided by at least one twist. I found Roe an excellent character and found myself feeling so much empathy for her, in site of her alleged crimes. I hope we hear more about her in a future book as I think she could become important in Josie's quest to unravel her past. The ending is a proper cliff-hanger and I am really looking forward to the next book already to find out the impact of it!
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

There isn’t a bad book in this series and they just keep getting better! Josie Quinn has a definite knack for figuring out what’s happened even when she’s not directly working a case. Her husband is missing and despite not being an active member of the team looking for him she has lots of ideas how this whole case played out. The author does such a good job of describing the settings in the book whether it’s an indoor or outdoor setting, as well as the characters and their personalities. The ending has me waiting not too patiently for the next book! I can’t get enough of this series and hope it will last quite a while longer. If you haven’t read this series you’re missing out on some great mysteries. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Book #22 ..wow! Does this author ever write a bad book in this series....NOPE! This book was SO good! Josie comes home from work to find Noah missing with blood in the garage and spilled over in the garage is her box of Lila's old things. Lila has come back from the dead to leave some clues to her past and which are now intertwined with Noah's kidnapping. I finished this book in one day. Yes one day!! It was that good. From the very first pages you will not be able to put it down!! Keep writing, Lisa Regan. This series is perfection!!!

I just finished reading Missing Husband and I am absolutely obsessed with Josie Quinn and her team. This is Lisa Regan’s 22nd Josie book and it just continues to get better. I literally could not stop turning the pages. I love how the stories wave and turn and still continue to end with my mouth wide open and waiting patiently for the next installment! Josie Quinn books are my favorite books to press into anyone’s hands! They just continue to get better. My only regret is that I cannot read them for the first time again. Waiting patiently for 23!

Great addition to the Josie Quinn series. The storyline was suspenseful and engaging, and the emotions the characters experienced were relatable. Totally met my expectations for this series that has become one of my favorites.

I have never written a book, but I can imagine it's not an easy task. I cannot imagine how many hours it takes to complete one, but I suppose that, when you see your 'baby' being born and loved by so many people, it must be a great feeling.
Authors writing series, create characters readers start to consider as friends and they look forward to, not only the next cases, but also to the developments of their personal lives. Readers laugh and cry with the recurring main persons and wish them the best.
Well, I suppose it happens to others too, because it certainly happens to me. :)
Josie has been to terrible things up till now, but now she is also embraced by love and friendship. Although she tries to leave all the bad things behind, they still haunt her and rip her world apart.
She finds herself with her back against the wall, but she manages to use the smallest crevice to sleip through in order to find clues.
This is a very devastating story, brilliantly written, as per usual. Once you sit down, you don't want to do anything else but to keep on reading. Loved it. 5 stars
Thank you

For law enforcement couple, Josie and Noah, things are looking good! They have been approved for adoption and can’t wait to become parents. They have a long history of solving difficult-to-solve murders. And then….. a murder, an abduction, family connections that will blow your mind, tears, and finally….answers! Whew! This was a doozie! And the ending….WOW!

Thank you, Bookouture for the copy of Husband Missing (Detective Josie Quinn Book 22) by Lisa Regan. This book felt more complex than the earlier books, but it was fantastic when Josie started putting some of the pieces together. The characters were vivid and easy to care about (most of) them so much I might have shed a tear or two at some point. You can read this book as a standalone, but I promise you will want to read the rest of the series when you finish it! The series keeps getting better, and I can’t wait to see what is next for Josie! 5 stars

Josie and Noah are happy, and hopeful that they will be considered fit to adopt a child, despite the fact that their jobs are dangerous.
Josie returns home from a shift, and finds that her home has been ransacked and Noah is missing, and very likely badly injured, considering the amount of blood there is.
She is working on a case that possibly has ties to Noah's abduction.
Another freaking wonderful Josie Quinn book!! I was hooked from the start of the book, and found myself turning pages like a speed freak!
Sad, emotional, tragic, romantic, traumatic, twisty - it is all in this book.
Josie is lost without Noah, and without Trout and Trinity, I think she would have truly gone to pieces.
The characters are real, the relationships are real, the family and friend relationships are true to life. I mean Laura - the snippy, spiteful cow who doesn't like Josie - making the trauma worse for Josie, who very gracefully turned her back on Laura, and didn't respond. Who needs 'family' like that?
Anyway, I am patiently waiting for Book 23, which I hope can top this one. Miss Regan will have to work hard to do that!
I have no choice but to award this book a 5/5 star rating. Every star is well earned by the author.

Detective Josie Quinn is happy and planning on adopting a child. She returns home from work to find her house has been torn apart, blood is everywhere and Noah is missing. She is frantic and wants to find him before it is too late. You feel for Josie as the hours drag by and she grows more and more sleep deprived. She is torn as her current case keeps leading her back to her past.
The author does a fantastic job of showing how past trauma still haunts Josie. The stories are so beautiful woven together and draw you in and keep your heart racing until the end.
The ending was a cliffhanger and now I want the next book ASAP. Well, done. I have loved this whole series and watching the characters grow and change.

Okay, first of all: Lisa Regan, HOW COULD YOU END IT LIKE THAT?! I need a moment. Maybe a moment and a Victorian fainting couch because that cliffhanger had me gasping out loud.
From the second Noah went missing, I was completely hooked. I was counting down the hours alongside Josie, feeling every ounce of her panic, determination, and sheer willpower to bring him home. And the way everything ended up connecting back to Gina’s case?! Mind. Blown. I didn’t see it coming AT ALL, but the way Lisa wove the two cases together was pure genius.
Also, let’s talk about the small, beautiful moments amidst all the chaos…Josie and Noah painting the spare room and picking a new wedding song? Absolute perfection. Josie listening to that voicemail from the adoption agency? Utterly heartbreaking. And Shannon? The way she was ready to throw hands for Josie gave me serious “Not my daughter, you b*tch!” Molly Weasley vibes. I was living for it!
I loved seeing how many people showed up for Josie (and Noah) in their own ways. She’s grown so much over the past decade, and even though she says more than once that “dead inside was still a default setting,” it’s clear she’s evolved. Because let’s be real, maybe there was some truth to that, but she never once reached for the Wild Turkey, and that says it all.
And Turner?! I have loathed that man since he was introduced, but I have to admit… I actually liked him in this one? His scene with Josie and Trinity has me so intrigued for what’s coming next.
Then there was (REDACTED). I did not see that coming. AT. ALL. What an ending to that part of the story!
And seriously, just when I thought I knew everything about Josie’s past, Lisa threw a massive curveball. SO. MUCH. MORE.
Without spoiling anything, the whole Noah part of the book was total edge-of-my-seat suspense.
This book was everything—emotional, intense, and packed with jaw-dropping twists. Lisa Regan just keeps outdoing herself, and now I’m left anxiously waiting for the next one because that ending… I still can’t believe it. Is there a doctor in the house? Because 15 minutes after finishing this book, my pulse was still at 93!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

OHMAHGAWD…
I don’t even know where to start.
This was so absolutely FANTASTIC. I wish that I could put into words how brilliant and talented this author is. I have been shouting it for years.
This. Is. Book 22. Book 22! And it is as fresh and unputdownable as the first book in series. No one. Absolutely no one does character growth like Lisa Regan. Every single book blows my mind. Why you ask? Because the characters you meet in book 1 are not the same throughout series. They grow, some die, you FEEL. Every single book she makes you more invested. Even those characters you don’t like. (Sorry y’all, I’m never gonna be a Luke fan)
And truly that’s the gift of this series. When you open a JQ book and step into Denton you are all in. You want to see what is going on and Josie updates. You get it all with this series…mystery, suspense, a thriller with twists & turns AND epic story telling. Characters that literally leap off pages. You feel like they are truly in your life for the time that book is open. And leave you lulling it over long after the book closes.
This book is just OUTSTANDING. I don’t do spoilers but man it’s a winner. I can’t wait for book 23. I need more. I’m addicted. If you have not read this series?!?! Why? You should run…NOW.
I’m still gaping at the end. 😮

Husband Missing is Lisa Regan’s latest addition to the Detective Josie Quinn series and, in my humble opinion, the best one yet. My favorite was always Her Mother’s Grave, but Husband Missing has taken that top stop now. This is a book that everyone can relate to in one way or another, but that’s something Lisa excels at. When Husband Missing opens, Josie finds herself happy, truly happy, for the first time in a very long time. Considering her job, she’s struck a somewhat decent work/life balance and is ready to take the next step with Noah in their journey to start a family. All that changes in the blink of an eye when she arrives home from a case and finds her home in shambles. It quickly becomes apparent that she’s dealing with every woman’s worst nightmare: the disappearance of her husband. With blood everywhere, Josie is certain that Noah didn’t disappear without a trace. He leaves just enough clues behind for her to see that the only person who can find him is her. She may be sidelined from the case, but what Denton’s finest don’t realize is that without Josie’s knowledge, their lieutenant may not come back at all. As a seasoned investigator, Josie must put her personal grief, fear, and anger aside to see the forest for the trees.
Husband Missing unfolds with a chilling sense of urgency as Josie grapples with the possibility that her husband's abduction has something to do with the case she picked up just a few hours earlier. But, as always, when she peels back the layers of a family’s deception, she starts to see a pattern develop. The finely woven web she’s fighting through extends far beyond Denton and for years longer than Josie has been alive. In the end, Josie only cares about one thing. Finding Noah and bringing him home. She will stop at nothing to make that happen, no matter who gets in her way.
Once again, Lisa masterfully crafts a suspenseful and thrilling narrative that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat as Josie uses every last bit of restraint within her soul to make the only move she has on the board. The psychological toll on Josie, torn between duty to her city and duty to her husband, leaps from the page. Josie’s emotional maturity is palpable as she uses what she’s learned from her past losses to protect her future. Husband Missing is heart-wrenching, beautiful, ugly, and cruel before it rewards the reader with its return to beauty. Lisa’s brilliance in writing a twisting and turning thriller is on full display in Husband Missing. As always, the ending has me eagerly awaiting book 23. Well done, Ms. Regan, for playing your readers’ heartstrings like the maestro you are.
