This Story is a Childrens book about the first baseball game of the season for these little league-rs. The Main character #3 has some tough times. But the team and coach rally to cheer him up and to try to succeed. This was a great little story for kids who are interested in baseball but the principles here that it teaches could also be applied to other sports or tasks. I feel that kids will enjoy this Children's book. Older folks might also think its cute and a change of pace from other reading like I did .

The thing I appreciated the most about Time to Play Baseball was the lesson that it is okay to make mistakes. Too often we forget how to have fun in a competitive setting and this is a story that should be told more

My brother is currently coaching my 5 year old nephew's little league team so I thought this would be a fun book for them to read together. The illustrations are delightful and it reads easily. It's full of baseball-specific lingo which I think would be great for someone like my brother to teach my nephew. But if there are any parents who aren't familiar with baseball terminology, it might go over their heads.

This is a good intro into young child baseball leagues. It helps with what to expect during a baseball game, teaching children that it is OK to make mistakes.

Time to Play Baseball is a perfect book for young T-Ball players who already might know terminology of the sport, but would enjoy reading about another player's journey during a game. If your child doesn't play ball, the baseball terms were not explained and could make a child lose interest quickly. The storyline itself is very simple and doesn't really bring any value other than perseverance as the main character literally doesn't perform well in any aspect of the game until the very very end, yet her teammates and coach continue to cheer her on. I felt like the simplicity of the storyline didn't match the terms not explained yet featured throughout the book like "soft grounders," "slow hoppers," and "join the chatter." The illustrations were really cute and might have been the only thing to keep my son engaged.

Not much felt original or exciting about this book, but I think young kids that are fans of sports will enjoy it, and parents will not mind reading it.

Great book! Kids that like baseball will absolutely adore this book. Healy definitely captures the highs and lows of the game of baseball, while also subtly weaving in messages of persistence, teamwork, and confidence. The main thing that was great about this book was the plot. The layout of three fails and then a major success worked really well. The story was a great length and maintained my attention from start to finish. Lastly, the illustrations conveyed motion and mood very nicely. Bravo!

Time to Play Baseball! is perfect for new athletes preparing to take the field. I love that the story goes over key baseball language so that families can support their new baseball players in better understanding the game.

Love this story about a team's first game of the season. Lots of teachable moments in this book from baseball vocabulary, sportsmanship, teamwork and expectations during a ballgame. My boys would both love this book for the story and the illustrations.

This is a cute short story about baseball. It describes playing the game, hitting the ball, being in the field, and the end of the game. Kids will like this, especially if they are playing baseball.

Oh my gosh this book is perfect for our family right now. Our 3 and 5 year old are just starting t ball for the first time. They got their caps and jerseys yesterday and found out their team is.. the giants! I think I’m going to have to order a hard copy of this cute book, for sure!

Such a cute book that spells out the basics of a baseball game. A cute story that emphasizes the importance of team play and leaning into what you are best at.

This book was very cute. As the mom of a long time former basball player it definitely made me smile. Its a great way to introduce children to the highs of lows of the game. I would definitely purchase this for the young baseball players out there.
