Great series especially for vampire fans, although the immortals are not vampires, so don't say that in front of them. The Argeneau books are a clever take on the "vampire" and never disappoint - always a good mystery, solid characters, fun banter, and some good sizzle. Really can't go wrong!

I’m a HUGE fan of Lynsay Sands Been reading her work from the beginning of her writing career. So naturally I’ve read the entire Argeneau series, some more than once. I think Crispinus and Abril’s story have already become one of my very favorites. And I know I’ll be reading it again. To say I recommend it is a big understatement. Happy reading. You won’t be disappointed.

I had such a great time with this and really loved the pacing. The pacing for me was very fast and it made reading the book even more exciting.

I also loved the plot twist with in this book because I couldn't guess what was going to happen next which I'm usually good at being able to see what is coming. So I love when a book keeps me on my toes and keeps me immersed in the plot.

Our MC were fun and interesting right from the get go and the way they fed off each other and furthered their romance was engaging and really fun to read.

I loved how protective the MMC was of the FMC right off the bat instead of taking a long time to decide to protect her. I have found a new book boyfriend in Crispin.

This was my first Sands book and it certainly won’t be my last. I had been meaning to get into her body of work and for me? This felt like the perfect introduction. A good balance of fun and sexy.

I've read all of Lynsay Sands Argeneau novels and she keeps finding ways to keep this series interested. Sure, some of the plot lines are repetitive but all the good stuff is still there. A sexy immortal and a fated mate find each other and enjoy some very sexy times. There's a mystery to solve and murderer to catch. Crispin and Abril are great together, I could have used a little more emotional connection beyond what we saw.

I have read every single book in this series and Lynsay Sands is in my top 5 favorite authors. This was a great addition to the series and I will definitely read more in the future. These don't get published fast enough for me to gobble them up!

I still love this series, and I want more!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜❤️💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☹️🥲😋😘🥰

The heroine: Abril Newman - she is an executive assistant and does a lot of extra work for her wealthy boss, like watering her plants, picking up groceries, housesitting and taking care of the dog while her boss is on extravagant vacations. Though she is determined to start only working during business hours after he boss returns from her latest trip. Abril has been staying at the remote mansion while renovations are finishing up and taking care of the dog, Lilith. When the dog digs up a skull in a part of the yard that is being excavated for an addition, Abril immediately calls the police.

The Hero: Crispinus Delacort (a.k.a. Crispin) - he is a homicide detective with the London, Ontario police and an immortal. The town is pretty sedate and doesn’t get a lot of murders, so they work more than just homicide cases. Though he and his partner Roberts, also an immortal, are pretty excited when they get called to the scene of a possible murder. Roberts was only 373, young in comparison to Crispin who had been alive for approximately 3000 years.

The story: The detectives determine that not only did the dog uncover a skull and body, but had also started digging up two right hands, meaning there were most probably at least three separate bodies in the former garden. While spending time, interviewing Abril, it isn’t long before Crispin figures out that she is possibly his life mate, especially after finding out that Roberts can read her mind and he can’t. Plus, the fact that he wants her, and he hasn’t wanted to have sex for a very long time.

I love this series, and it seems like it has been a long time since the last book. I just love the vampire immortal backstory, how they were originally from Atlantis, how they are immortal due to the nanos in their blood which were a technological innovation of a society that was far more advanced than any other in the world. The nanos were programmed for healing illness and injury and were designed to be flushed out of the system when they were done, but since a human body is always in a state of slow degradation, they just never finished their work and keep the person in top physical form for basically ever. It just makes sense, and I always love the big reveal to the non-immortal life mate. I could continue reading books in this series for years and not get bored.

Not to mention that there is always an exiting side story that adds mystery and suspense to a terrific romance and there is always plenty of steamy intimate scenes. This one had a very interesting storyline about the bodies found on the property and I couldn’t put it down throughout. The characters were all terrific, including all the members of the Argeneau family, Lucien was especially funny. I pretty much liked everything about this book, and I hope that Lynsay Sands keeps adding to this series.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

*Immortal by Morning* by Lynsay Sands is a fun and captivating addition to the Argeneau series that combines mystery, romance, and a touch of humor. Crispinus Delacort, the immortal rogue enforcer, is a charming and layered protagonist, and his chemistry with Abril Newman feels authentic and engaging. The murder mystery plot keeps the pages turning, but it’s the dynamic between Crispin and Abril that truly steals the show.
Sands’ talent for blending wit and suspense shines through, making the story both lighthearted and tense at just the right moments. Fans of the Argeneau world will appreciate the familiar mix of quirky immortals and steamy romance, while newcomers will find it easy to dive into the standalone plot. Overall, it’s a delightful read for those who love their paranormal romance with a dash of intrigue.

This is a quintessential Lynsay Sands Immortal book. It is nice to catch up with the main characters and to fall into the pace from previous books but it is not essential to have read those books. She weaves in the world building naturally and easily so readers are not at a disadvantage for not having read the series. True to type it is a engaging murder mystery inside a romance. And the sex scenes are really hot!

Crispin’s a rogue vampire hunter and a police detective. When he finds multiple bodies buried in a soon to be excavated garden at the house of Abril, Crispin and his fellow Enforcers, mortal and Immortal police officers, descend to solve the mystery and keep Abril safe while doing so.

From the very beginning of the investigation he realizes that the Abril is actually his fated mate. When mates meet in Sands books, they have all their senses- and sensuality- taken over. Obsessively so. It is a bit of a juggle negotiating the murder mystery and the life-mate business because both mortal and Immortal are taken over buy the newness and compulsion of the attraction.

The book could either be classified as formulaic or just another nice tale in a series with wonderful world building. Let the reader decide. In any event it is fun with dollops of suspense and sexiness.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Immortal by Morning is Lynsay Sands doing what she does best, blending humor, romance, and a little murder mystery into another fun installment of the Argeneau series. This time, we get Crispinus “Crispin” Delacort, an immortal enforcer investigating a decades old murder after Lilith, an adorable Lab belonging to Abril Newman’s boss, digs up some bones in the backyard. Given the circumstances, it is clear someone does not want those remains uncovered, and soon, both detectives are invited to stay inside the manor, setting the stage for insta lust and full hands on situations.

Crispin is a likable hero but completely out of his depth when it comes to finding his life mate. Abril? She is smart, a little sassy, and fiercely independent, something we are repeatedly reminded of. Their chemistry is there from the start, but there is not much build up to their attraction. Obviously, life mates are supposed to have an instant connection, but considering the circumstances of their meeting, Crispin’s actions felt wildly unprofessional for someone in his role.

The mystery element keeps things interesting, though the pacing drags at times. Once the danger ramps up, the book finds its stride. Their “courting” has its awkward moments, which feels intentional, but since everything takes place over just a few days, the romance and action feel crammed together, making it a bit too far fetched for my taste. Fans of the series will enjoy the humor and familiar family dynamics that always make the Argeneau books comfort reads, even when murder is involved. That said, I did feel like too much of the book centered on Crispin explaining immortals to Abril. For a first time reader, this might be helpful, but for longtime fans, it reads as filler. Honestly, I would have preferred Lucian to break the news, short, to the point, and probably with some endearingly grumpy sarcasm, leaving Crispin to handle the damage control and actually build a connection with Abril.

Since this was an ARC, I hope some things get cleaned up in editing, especially the constant use of words like “however,” “therefore,” “fortunately,” “unfortunately,” “eventually,” and “obviously.” The overly formal speech (e.g., “will not” instead of “won’t,” “we will” instead of “we’ll”) made the writing feel stiff in places. And when the villain was finally captured and started monologuing, I half expected them to say, “And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it were not for you meddling kids!” Definite Scooby Doo energy.

Is it groundbreaking? Absolutely not. But is it an enjoyable, easy to devour paranormal romance with a charming hero and a heroine who holds her own? Yup. If you are a longtime Argeneau reader, this one is worth picking up. If you are new to the series, it is definitely not the best starting point, but it is a decent addition to Sands’s ever growing immortal universe. That said, I was far more invested in the mystery than the so called “romance” or insta lust.

Special thanks to @NetGalley and @AvonHarperVoyager for an advanced readers copy, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal story. While Abril is out walking her boss's dog, the dog digs up a skeleton, two detectives are called in, Abril and Crispin, one of the detectives and an immortal, are attracted to each other, more skeletons are found, and someone attacks Abril. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of suspense, intrigue, and romance, and a must read riveting story. Can't wait to read the next story by the phenomenally talented author, Lynsay Sands!

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of IMMORTAL BY MORNING (Book 37 of the Argeneau paranormal romance series) by Lynsay Sands in exchange for an honest review. Crispinus Delacourt and his partner, immortal rogue hunters, work undercover as homicide detectives in a sleepy small town. However, things get interesting when a house sitter, Abril Newman, finds human remains in the backyard of a mini mansion. First, the house sitter is Crispinus’ lifemate, and he has no idea how to proceed with a modern-day courtship. Second, there are even more bodies. Third, there is a rogue vampire involved, and that rogue is presumably the cause of the bodies. Fourth, the rogue is present and manipulating Abril. Fifth, Lucian Argeneau has shown up in all of his grumpy glory. So, Crispinus just has to catch a killer, conceal a mass grave from the public, woo his woman, and put up will all of Lucian’s interference. No problem, right? RIGHT?

I’ve read all of the books in this series. I recommend this series to fans of paranormal romantic suspense.

You will not miss out on this series. It is full of paranormal action, romance and of course spicy scenes. Who can’t go wrong with that. I only just started reading the series. You can blame my vampire loving sister for that, LOL. They are full of suspense, mystery and humor which will keep you glued to the very last page. Especially, the private pool scenes. I would recommend it to anyone to give it a spin.

This was cute , simple and not that much going on, but cute. it does need some work and maybe some chapters need to be looked at. The characters do need a little more development and some work to make them a little more likable.

3.5 stars

Despite being the 37th Argenaeu novel, Lynsay Sands still managed to give us a new story, this time featuring the immortal Crispinus 'Crispin' Delacourt. Due to how many of these books there are I had to consult Lynsay Sands website for the family trees to figure out who the heck Crispin even was. Turns out he is the oldest of Basil's ( MCC of The Immortal Who Loved Me) 22 children. Clearly Sands is set for life on immortal characters. The book mainly begins from our FMC Abril's perspective, who is house/dog sitting and overseeing renovations for her over demanding boss, when the dog finds human remains in the yard being dug up. Her main concern in all of this is her boss not finding out and minimizing gossip, she even says that when her boss does find out it will be taken out on her. Then enters Detective Delacourt, who shows up to solve the case and immediately realizes Abril is his lifemate. This is where if you have not read the rest of the series it would be very confusing since this concept is barely explained until 75% into the book when he explains immortals and lifemates to Abril. Him being a 'vampire' is barely touched on outside of them going to the car to have a blood bag. As I have read 36 of these books I was fine with the exception of having to look up who his dad was, since he doesn't mention it except offhandedly half way through. While I doubt someone would purposely pick up a 37th book in a series, it's also entirely possible for it to happen, in which case that person would be extremely confused. I think this limits readability since it narrows the market a tad to who would enjoy this book. What I felt was different from others in the series was the lack of instalove. Yes there was definitely insta lust (a very lusty pool scene in fact), but with the whole book taking place over I think maybe only 2 days, Abril is written a tiny bit more realistic than the common romance heroine in that she doesn't spout her undying devotion by the end of the book. That being said, I did feel like the book left off rather unfinished with quite a few loose ends that I think tie into Abril’s character development, so it just felt weird that it ended without resolution. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who has read other Argeneau books, really any in the series is fine so long as they are going in already with the knowledge about immortals and lifemates.

This was such a great book. I forgot how much I enjoy Lynsay Sands writing. The mystery of the story was an interesting one as well as keeping you in suspense waiting to see what would happen. The fact that then you add in vampires and life partners and humans just made it all the more suspenseful. The spice is spicy, the relationship hot and heavy as well as entertaining. The ending was really good and I can't wait to see what happens next.

It’s always a hilarious and sometimes a little serious adventure. This long time series has been one of my favorites for many years and still has the power to get me exited for a new story. It never gets old.

Received a free arc from NetGalley and for that I am super grateful. I’m happy to be able to read the newest book in my favorite series.
All opinions are my own and freely given.

Let me start by saying I’ve been a huge fan of this series since I was in high school and the first book came out and I stumbled upon it at a dollar store when dollar general sold books on the little spiny racks. This is my absolute favorite series and I have loved every single book since book 1. I have favorites of course but over all I’ve loved them all. This one tho? Not so much. It was very slow to the point I almost didn’t even want to finish reading it. It took almost half of the book to start getting anywhere because they were digging bones out of the yard and acting weird and awkward. I was just pretty disappointed with this book. Once it got past all that things sped up quickly and it was a good read but took me a while to get to that point.

Abril is pet sitting and finds some bones where construction has started on the property. Calling the police she meets Crispín, who finds out she is the one for him. Good mystery and good romance. Like this series and author, and this book is a great addition to. Highly recommend.
