Okay, LG Davis just did that! The New Marriage had me hooked from page one, but that ending? WHEW. I did not see that coming. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, BOOM—plot twist that had me screaming. I’ve read several of her books, and she never lets me down. This one was no different. Suspense, drama, mind games—it had it all. And now I’m just over here hoping (begging?) for a follow-up because I NEED MORE. Seriously, if you love thrillers that keep you guessing, add this to your TBR ASAP!

This is one of my favourite authors so I was so excited to read this and why I was not disappointed. It was a very thrilling read with many twists and turns I loved everything about it the story the character development and the writing style. I will definitely be recommending this fantastic page turner to everyone. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this great book.

Oooh so this has got me thinking this book, I would say this would make a great book for a book club as there is a lot to discuss! Thanks for the early access.

This will throw you headfirst into a dilemma: you find a winning lottery ticket – jackpot! – but it's not yours. Do you claim the cash or do the right thing?
Drew, the protagonist, is in a situation where she needs to either claim the prize that isn't hers or put it back in the place where she found it. She, who already has a secret past, desperately wants to keep it hidden from her new husband and a son to protect. The pressure's on because time's ticking, and she wrestles with desperation for money, knowing that claiming the cash could expose the secrets she's desperate to bury.
The first half felt a bit of a slog. Some of which felt unnecessary and slowed the pace down considerably. It was a chore to get through at times, leaving me feeling lost in the details.
There was also so much going on, and I felt off. It was not exciting, but simultaneously, I wanna know what would happen, what everyone was hiding, what secrets they were burying, and how far they were willing to go to keep them buried.
But things pick up dramatically around the 80% mark; the plot really kicks into gear, and there are some genuinely shocking twists. However, the ending let me down a bit again. I found myself with unanswered questions about Trina, the nurse. Where did she go? The open-ended conclusion can sometimes be intriguing, but in this case, it just felt unsatisfying. It was almost like the author left out a key piece of the puzzle, and now I'm wondering if I missed something along the way. (Did I overlook it? Please tell me if I did.)
Overall, the book has potential – the central idea is strong, and the later parts of the story are genuinely gripping. Whether or not you'll enjoy it as much as I did is a matter of personal preference. Still, I think many readers will appreciate the moral complexity and the suspenseful twists—many thanks to Netgalley for the eARC.

This book started off really strong and had my interest! As I continued reading it was really hard for me to stay invested! The riff between Sarah and drew just seemed to drag on and was annoying! All the characters seemed shady with secrets! Was really hoping to like this book more than I did! Thank your for the opportunity to read this ARC!!

After both of them lost their spouses, Drew and Mark found happiness again together. But Drew has some secrets that could blow it all up.
While I did find the premise intriguing and was really think I'd love it, this was a bit of a let down for me. The story itself felt like it lacked a clear direction, there was so much going on, and the twists were so predictable, yet so incredibly out there that it felt almost comical at points. There was only one thing that truly did get me, but the more I sit on it, the more it feels so extremely rushed and just thrown in there for shock value. The characters were all off, and while I usually don't have any issues with not liking characters in this genre of books, I do have issues with how plain and not fleshed out they were, because the potential was definitely there. It also felt like it was dragging a little in certain bits, but that wasn't extremely bad. That said, it was fairly quick to read, and it did keep me entertained whenever I picked it up. I really liked the writing, and I wish I liked it more than I did, because I really do think it has potential, and I'm sure there are people who will absolutely love it.
Many thanks to Bookouture & NetGalley for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

My first L G D’avis book and it did not disappoint! It kept me guessing, and when Martin was revealed, my jaw was on the floor! Great book, thanks for my advanced copy!

This was a fantastic book! The ending was amazing, with tons of twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. I've read a handful of books by this author, and I've loved every single one. She is an amazing author! I definitely recommend this book (and author) to other thriller readers!

Unfortunately, I do not agree with the other reviews on this case. I didn't think this book was good. Way too many boundary issues between sister and brother, and just unbelieve situations. Would Drew really marry Mark in real life? Just so far out there in my opinion. And why is Sarah so obsessed with her brother? It's pretty obvious as well that Tia is a suspicious friend. Why is she always asking so many questions? The only huge shock in this book is when it is revealed who Martin is. Just wasn't that interesting to me. Usually books by L.G. Davis are great; this fell short.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy of The New Marriage. The cover was nice. There were a few stories going on in this book and I like when it wraps up nicely which this did. A BIGGGGGGGGGGGG twist towards the end and there were many little ones too. The epilogue was the BEST part of how this could have ended, I liked it, what does that say about me? A thrilling, twisty, dark read, LOVED IT!!!

Just when I thought there wouldn’t be any more twists… boy was I wrong! This book started out with a solid plot and I was under the assumption that the rest of the story would be more of the same. Nope!
I was cheering Drew on from the start, but I could sense there was more to her story. I tried to be wary of every character I met along the way, but I wasn’t prepared for the truth.
There is not much more I can say without giving things away. Just know that the characters are well-rounded, the storyline is executed well, and there was never a moment that felt like it wasn’t believable. Trust me, you won’t be bored, and whatever you think the answer is? You’ll most likely be wrong. 😂
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

Wow this story had many twists towards the end that I did not guess at all and kept me on my toes all the way through till the epilogue. I read this so quickly and did not want to put it down. I wanted to see how it would end!
I really enjoyed the writing style and am looking forward to reading more books from this author. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers.

WOW!!! The author has an incredible gift of writing psychological thrillers…I was just blown away by everything in this book and need to read more by this author. Needless to say I am an instant huge fan!

This is one of my top reads for the year so far.
It is a fascinating insight into the marriage of Mark and Drew. Both seem like lovely people on the outside but secretly thay have hidden dimensions.
Secrets in a marriage are usually one sided but when both spouses are hiding something so dark it could destroy everything around them..well this makes for excellent reading.
it is pacy, filled with twists and an ending to die for..

An excellent read for any and all readers! Author comes at you with both barrels and knocks you out of your shoes! Great job fleshing out all the characters. I give this book FIVE stars! Definitely recommend!

I just finished one of the best thrillers I’ve read lately. The New Marriage by LG Davis is a must read!

One of my top ten reads this year. Wow!!! The jaw dropping twist this book gave was insane. A really nice read that pulls you in instantly. Deffo recommend xx

I love L.G. Davis and her writing style. They are quick reads and full of twists and turns. The ending is the perfect climax.

The ending blew me away. It’s hard for thrillers to find really great endings with a twist you don’t see coming when all you read are thrillers, but this one did. I will be reading more from this author for sure.
Mark and Drew had secrets hidden in their marriage, some more detrimental than others. Both characters were hard to like and warm up to, but I think that was the point. Neither was the “better” of the two in my opinion.
I read this so quickly I might go back and read it again. Thank you so much for this ARC.

A PAGE TURNER definitely!!!! I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Twists after twists!! secrets after secrets revealed AND TILL THE VERY END!!!! You think you know what happened who did what but again and again you are proven wrong!
I ENJOYED READING IT SO MUCH!
