With a beautiful cover, this book was exciting and unexpected in so many ways. The ending especially was crazy, and though it's not my new absolute favourite book, I thought it was a really good read, and would absolutely check out the second book in the series when it comes out.

Just a normal university student, Taylor has a vision that rocks her world one day after an exam. Turns out, she's not so normal after all, and her Senator father may have something to do with it. Taylor is determined to figure out what the vision means, however, and that sets us off for a wild ride of an adventure that includes hot steamy scenes and the battle of a lifetime.

After finding an article at the library claiming her father is involved in human testing, she meets a man who really sweeps her off her feet, Julian. He's in Texas looking for people like him, shifters. And that's exactly who Taylor's father is exploiting and using for war machines.

Though he thinks her visions mean she's possessed at first, the two grow very close throughout the book and have a few steamy sessions. But there's more to do than just hook up and get to know each other, and that's really to get to the bottom of what Taylor's father is involved in, especially when they find microchips implanted in her wrists. And Taylor also has to work through the feeling that she's not good enough and doesn't deserve Julian.

Overall, I had a lot of fun reading this book and getting to know the characters. They were very realistic with their emotions, and the things they had to go through over the course of the story was really wild and interesting. I haven't read anything like this before, and I would love to get to know the world they live in even more. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fantastic adventure with shifters, aliens, and hot romantic scenes.

This book was an unexpected tale of betrayal and love and how sometimes love makes you do something you can't walk back. From the first spark, Julian and Taylor are drawn to each other but it is more. They are an incredibly steamy and hot match that sets off a change in her that will move the book forward in unbelievable ways. Taylor is strong because she has the willingness to question that which she knows and that which sounds outlandish. Julian feels like an old soul, he doesn't want to start something and leave Taylor behind as he sets the course for his new life. He also seems willing to help out friends and longs for a sense of community. Though they come from different backgrounds, Julian and Taylor are well matched and bring out the best in each other as they stake out a future for themselves and their found family.
Taylor's father casts a pallor over the entire story wondering if he could actually use his own flesh and blood. For a brief moment, he will appear human, a father faced with an impossible choice. Inspired by parental love, he makes a slew of bad choices sinking further until there is no escape and Taylor and Julian must clean up his mess. Taylor, even more than Julian proves herself fierce and both prove their worth to their found community and family.
I felt like their was a thread left dangle at the end of the story so perhaps we will see more of this shifter clan. This book was a quick read with plenty of action.
Thanks to NetGalley and City Owl Press for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Thoughts/Would I Recommend This?-
This book just honestly annoyed me on so many levels, and I could not bring myself to read any more than I already did. This is mostly because it just felt so cringy and weird, and I just did not like it at all. There may be someone out there who loved this book though and thought it was great, but that person is definitely not me.
