"Who needs elegance when you have the right kind of magic to get the job done?"

What a fun, cozy, and cute read! The Witch of Wall Street has a nice flair of unique magic. Witches live among humans with their own cults to support each other. There's magic among the streets of New York City. This is a fun adventure with broom rides, romance, dumplings, and snuggles by the TV with ice cream! 🥰

Nelson and Miriam are high school classmates and bump into each other at a benefit. Getting caught up in a night of reconnection, they end up in a tangle of messy magic. In search of important magical items they lost, they go on a quest all over New York.

Miriam has worked extra hard to have a successful job. Her unique messy magic has been an obstacle her whole life. Nelson, in Miriam's eyes, has always been the golden boy from her class. The more time she spends with him, she begins to realize the true Nelson she never knew. I really love their relationship. It's cute and romantic in a cozy and comforting way. Who doesn't want to be taken care of and spoiled with cuddles and a warm cooked meal? Their intimate moments are steamy and genuine. Nelson is the perfect example of a genuine gentleman. I love him! These two characters are real treat to read, and I can't forget about Larry! Who doesn't love an overweight cuddly pet character?

Everything about this book definitely felt cozy, fun, and whimsical. I love the cute magic system in this story. It felt modern and almost normal, but with a flair of fantasy. It is such a cute story and so easy to follow and get lost in Miriam and Nelson's quirky adventure

I’m not going to lie, I wouldn’t usually pick up a business romance book BUT this is a witchy/magical book too and it WAS amazing! Such a sweet and short book to read. It is a well thought out book, has a great plot and everything was resolved by the end of the story with no loose ends. The characters were easily likeable and it flowed well. Easily a 4 star read for the Witch of Wall Street! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

3 stars for spice

This was such a fun, cute read and I loved the magic elements in it. I also loved that one of the characters was a cat. I absolutely love books with cats in them. The beginning took off to a slower start, but it quickly picked up and I found myself unable to put it down. The storyline flowed nicely and this was very well written. I am interest to read more by this author.

A fun fantastical read! The writing flows whilst creating an elaborate magical world which you can feel completely at home in because of the details and atmosphere created. A rom-com that also perfectly balances real world issues!

Miriam is a chaos witch, Nelson is a wizard of small miracles. The magical abilities are opposite but complement each other?

After a night together, Miriam's broom and Nelson's magical medallion run away together, causing them to have to go on a quest together to find their magical items.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a cute, cozy fantasy with a great romantic plot. Miriam's and Nelson come across obstacles in their quests and are fun to read and really help move the plot along, as well as their relationship.

This book had a really unique spin on your typical witchy romance. In this world, magic is real but hidden, and Miriam and Nelson both have their own magical baggage to address before we get to a happy-ish ending.

Miriam is a workaholic with chaos magic. She has worked her whole life to contain this side of her, only letting it out during her nightly broomstick rides or when it bubbles up uncontrollably. Her childhood was spent embarrassed of her obviously chaotic magic, even overshadowing the childhood friendship (or attempted friendship) of Nelson. Nelson inherited a bit of a more beneficial magic that can give him or those around him a dose of lucky benefits. This drove Miriam to be jealous and that particular resentment colored her memory of the past until they re-meet as adults.

Nelson, still a very positive person, is now leading a charity that finds homes and jobs for those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to find them. Miriam’s firm, on the other hand, is secretly trying to steal the deal for new housing out from under said charity. It’s all hush hush so this puts Miriam in a bit of an awkward position when she find herself attracted to and then spending the night with her ex-arch nemesis.

This is a fade to black type romance, which didn’t bother me so much because there is A LOT they end up needing to address on their magical adventure. Oh, and they are on a magical adventure because Nelson’s magic teleporty thing and Miriam’s broomstick run away. It’s a magic thing, apparently, but ends up forcing a lot of overdue conversations, reconnections, and the Nelson/Miriam one night stand grows to multiple nights/days/weekends. Miriam also is forced to re-asses her career and what she wants to do with her life. It was definitely a journey, but ends up mostly wrapped up in a neat bow by the finish.

The Witch of Wall Street is a magical, light spice, romcom. M.J. Etkind did a fabulous job representing a woman in a male dominant world without making her a full-on bi***. I really enjoyed the romance and liked the fact that it didn't overshadow the plot of the story. And then throw in just the right amount of spice for me in romcom make a good light read.
Thank you M.J. Etkind, lzzi House Books, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC.

I really wanted to like this book. A chaos witch trying to control her powers and a romance!? Unfortunately this book did not live up to my imagination. I didn't really connect with the characters and the sense of urgency for their mission felt like it kept changing. One moment it was so important that they find their lost objects and the next they were just fine leaving it almost a week. One minute the FMC is having a moral dilemma and the next she's deciding it doesn't matter. I do think many others will like this book, but unfortunately it wasn't for me.

The book wasn't for me. It had a good premise but the writing style was a bit mixed for me. It's also closed door which nah

The cutest, coziest magical romantic comedy. Fall into a world of magic with a chaotic little witch of Wallstreet named Mariam who is a powerhouse of a FMC, and the cutest cinnamon roll with dark hair, blue eyes, tall, and a bit of a golden boy, named Nelson on quite a wild adventure all over New York City while falling in love.

A sweet little witchy rom-com that will having you swooning, and head over heels for Nelson Copperfield.

This book was written so well, made me want to keep reading and find out where they were off to next.

Frenemies to lovers but Nelson had always been smitten with Mariam.

Get ready to fall in love with these hummingbirds..IYKYK.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise of a modern/urban cozy witch romance is incredible and I love a rivals to lovers trope. The social commentary aspects and ethical dilemma that Miriam faces are fantastic and really what kept me going as I read. Unfortunately, I struggled with the pacing and the way that a number of the characters’ actions were over-explained (or in one situation very under-explained). It started off slow with a lot of explanations about magic while the FMC is going about her daily life, that felt like they could have been inserted more organically into a faster moving plot or interactions with other characters. The choice the main characters made to sleep with each other also felt very uncharacteristic and like it came out of nowhere after the FMC had just described trying to avoid the MMC perhaps an hour before and with no real conversation or flirting that would lead to a change of heart. I think this book has a lot of incredible potential but needs some fine tuning before I feel like I could really recommend it.

Loved this book. It was such a fun and whimsical read. I loved that there was so many elements happening all at once which emphasised the FMC's chaotic self and yet it never felt overwhelming, every little thing was there for a reason and things became more clear bit by bit. Personality wise, I could very heavily relate to the FMC so I absolutely loved her. I also love the fact that she is a strong independent woman but also love her character progression throughout as she really went on a journey. I adored the MMC, he gives off such golden retriever energy and is just the cutest. He makes the reader feel all warm and fuzzy with the way he acts and the small gestures that every person deserves to receive in life. The twists and turns are just so brilliantly written and you need to know what happens next. You feel engaged throughout and this book will have you laughing, crying, happy, sad, mad and I loved every second of it.

This was such a fun read. Miriam as a character was really enjoyable. I’m a woman who works in a male dominated field, so I understand the struggle of being taken seriously. I found that aspect of the story very relatable.

Nelson is a such a golden retriever boy and I love it ! I also really appreciate the communication between these two as they figured out their relationship and feelings. No third act break up !

The magical scavenger hunt for their objects was just so fun.

I think if you’re looking for an easy read with magic and romance this is definitely for you.

A fun and magical read for sure. I really loved the strong social justice and community service themes throughout especially. I also really loved that this book was like a Percy Jackson book where the main characters are on a quest and travel from place to place facing new and magical problems. I always think to myself when reading a middle grade or young adult adventure book that I wonder why there aren't books for adults like this and here I got to read one!

The spice level is pretty low and grows over the duration of the book through each interaction the Miriam and Nelson have which is a new one to me. I didn't mind that at all that as their relationship grew you got more details. They seemed oddly matched but in that opposites attract way in that they compliment each other and balance each other out. I was sometimes frustrated with Miriam with her I'm so independent, I don't want anyone and all that, I will admit. She seemed to be lonely and looking for something more and Nelson definitely was ready to give her more.

Definitely enjoyed this read and would read more in this world if the author were to revisit it someday. I would love to see how they work out in the long run or a story from one of her friends' perspectives.

I received an early digital copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Miriam, our protagonist, is a young witch with chaos magic who faces an ethical and moral dilemma: agree to lead the team that manages an important account, which could earn her a pass to become the new partner and in the process, derail a nonprofit that was providing free housing in a city where housing was nearly impossible to secure.
On the other hand, Nelson is the executive director of Housing Magic, the organization that wants to buy that same property to develop a housing complex for the homeless.
From this premise, The Witch of Wall Street develops, a book that captivates from the moment you see its beautiful cover, with characters whose stories are defined in a prologue that leaves the reader hooked and a plot worthy of a Hallmark romcom.
The Witch of Wall Street is an excellent novel: very interesting, fast-paced, and well-written, which addresses social issues such as the housing shortage, work for ex-convicts, and drug addiction, from the perspective of a social worker.
I thank the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book and spend a couple of almost sleepless nights.
The opinion I have expressed above is based solely on what I think and feel about this book.

This was such a cute read. I love the dynamic between Miriam and Nolan so much. Rivals forced to team up and take on Chaos Magic? Yes please! The story is easy to follow and filled with lots of interesting twist and turns that never leave you bored. This is a nice quick read and perfect for a rainy weekend.

A novel read with a slightly quirky vibe when what was supposed to be a simple one-night stand between two former high school rivals finds them embarking on a rollocking quest across New York to recover certain magical items that have disappeared.

I loved the concept of this book. The overall story was fast paced and humorous as a pair of one time enemies gallivant all over the city in search of their missing belongings, having adventures and meeting quirky characters along the way but at times The Witch of Wall Street did feel a bit preachy in parts especially the lack of social housing which I know was a part of the story with the hero Nelson being a social worker and which in turn led to Miriam facing a morale dilemma over her heart or her career. When it came to the hero and heroine, they were complete opposites, the only thing Miriam and Nelson had in common was that they were both witches, although in Miriam’s case chaos followed her around despite her high-flying career in finance – no puns about broomsticks please! In comparison Nelson was a bit of a golden retriever type hero and although his intentions were good and his heart was in the right place, if I’m being honest, he was a bit boring…. where’s a wizardly bad boy like Lord Voldemort when you need him. But somehow, he made Miriam see there was more to life than work, while she shook him out of his routine.
