Enchantra by Kaylie Smith will fuel your desire for a dark romantasy. One which features complex relationships intriguing and complicated puzzles coupled with the enemies to lover's trope. Prepare for a hazardous journey into the supernatural world where survival is the ultimate goal.
Enchantra is the second book on Kaylie Smith's Wicked Games series. Wow! What a sequel? After my experience with Phantasma I had high hopes for Enchantra, and she did not disappoint.
Enchantra follows Genevieve Grimm the younger sister of the heroine from Phantasma. In this installment Genevieve intercepts an invitation meant for mother. Unfortunately, her mother died and so she decides to take up the invitation. This decision led her to Tuscany, Italy. On her arrival she got caught up in a deadly game of hide and seek in an enchanted mansion. A game which led to a marriage of convenience and one where survival is not guaranteed.
I had lots of fun with this one. The characters despite their dysfunctionalities made the story a treat. The heroine and the hero made a perfect match. It took me sometime to warm up to Genevieve, but when I finally did, I enjoyed her role. Feisty, argumentative and brave, poor Rowin didn't know what hit him.
Their romance was intense. They both had baggage. Geneive needed to stay alive at all costs and Rowin had ensure her safety. These issues served as a barrier to their attraction, but not for long.
Rowin's siblings added a little more zing the situation. Getting to know the family will leave you with the desire to be a part of them, dysfunctionalities and all.
Enchantra is a solid addition to the Wicked Games series, and I look forward to the next book.

Thank you NetGalley and Second Sky/Forever for this book!
4.5 /5 stars rounded up!
This was a fantastic dark gothic romantasy! I enjoyed reading Genevieve's POV, who was the sister in the first book. This haunted/sentient house house gave such creepy vibes, and the games that Genevieve and her family had to play to survive kept me on edge of my seat! Not only did I not know what would happen next, but I couldn't even theorize what was coming, which is nice as I usually figure things out right away lol. This was just as good as Phantasma, and I really hope there will be more in this series!

This was such a great follow-up to Phantasma! While I enjoyed Phantasma a bit more than Enchantra, I found it very fun and atmospheric, and I loved the romance in it as well. Kaylie Smith's writing is wonderful, and I loved Genevieve as the main character! The setting was great, and I loved the new cast of characters as well. I'm very excited to see where this series goes, and I would recommend it overall! :)

I loved this book! The first felt fresh and new in a book world full of copy/paste paranormal romance stories. I was so genuinely excited to make my way back into this world and Enchantra did not disappoint! I was hooked from the first chapter. I had really been looking forward to Genevieve's story and I loved her anti-damsel in distress attitude. I was happy to be back in another games/trials situation in this book as well. Besides the fact that it is one of my favorite tropes, I also thought the way this particular game was set up is super interesting. AND Give me more Rowin immediately. Great MMC, I mean who doesn't love a tatted, pierced shadow daddy? All in all great read and I cannot wait to see what bangers Kaylie Smith put out next!

I went into this thinking that there was no way it would be better than Phantasma, I was wrong.
Not only does Genevieveโour sassy, curvy, and bitey FMC, get locked into a set of deadly games but also a marriage of convenienceโฆ to a shadow-wielding, grumpy dark haired MMC with tattoos and a lip ring, oh and a fox familiar.

Vivi goes through so much in such a short time as we see her work through her past trauma and heartache as well as her family issues. The forced proximity between her and Rowin inevitably leads to their walls coming down and emotions rising, especially as everyone is out for blood.

Itโs super impressive that Kaylie was able to keep repetitive games of hide and seek fresh and exciting each time. You just never knew when a twist was gonna pop up or how this was all gonna play out happily.

This is the strangest family and yet I want to be a part of it so bad haha. The humor and the insults but also how quickly some of them were to accept Vivi. Fingers crossed we get more of Sevin soon!
Thank you Kaylie Smith, NetGalley and Second Sky Books for the arc!

This was a fantastic follow up to Phantasma. The story was compelling and engaging. Though the action dragged a bit at times, the romance and the ending were memorable.

4.5 Stars.
So, as I started reading this book I was honestly a little afraid that the story would be a little too similar to Phantasma's. I mean, there's yet again a big haunted/magical mansion, a game, bargains with demons and a male lead one should definitely not trust. Except that it ended up being completely different. I really enjoyed Genevieve as the lead; she's a lot more impulsive than Ophelia and I related to her quite a bit. Rowin was an interesting male lead. I greatly enjoyed the banter and chemistry between him and Genevieve. Seriously, this book has some hilarious moments that are due to Genevieve being her iconic self and Rowin being unable to deal. I did expect a bit more rollercoaster drama from these two, but I'm not unhappy where they ended up.
The setting was highly enjoyable, too. While this mansion wasn't as gory as Phantasma's, it had its own charm. Probably because people actually live in this house from time to time... Anyway, y'all know I love a good mansion with secret passages and rooms to sneak away to. The Hunt itself was a great mechanism to force Genevieve and Rowin together without sacrificing plot. I still had the sense that there was something going on outside wherever they were hiding, but at the same time I perfectly got to see their arcs develop.
However, by far my favorite aspect of this book was the Silver siblings. Their relationship with each other is so complicated and dysfunctional, but it was somehow made funny. I would 100% read a book that literally just details their daily interactions. I hope we get to see more of them in the future.
Speaking of the future; will there be another book? I feel there were clues in this book that point to yes, someone please confirm. Because if so, sign me up! I'm ready for another adventure and I hope to God it's about one particular Silver sibling who may or may not have something up his sleeve (iykyk).

So fun! I didnโt know how she would top Phantasma and was hesitant to find out, but I was so glad I did! The author takes us on a fun game of hide and seek. The visual descriptions will have you imagining fun rooms and fun times with our MC Genevieve and one of the brothers of this magical family!

Let me start this by saying I went into this book blindโฆI expected this to be a continuation of Blackwell and Ophelia, and I was a little disappointed that it wasnโt because I felt like Phantasmas ending was too abrupt, and I needed more. BUT Genevieve (Opheliaโs sister) quickly changed my mind because I love her and her witty, unserious attitude. I donโt know how this girl managed to find another house of horrors, but she has a skill for getting herself in trouble. This time the trouble she finds is getting herself stuck in a house the one week a year that she cannot leave and must compete to the death with immortal siblings in rounds, and the only way she has a chance at surviving is teaming up with Rowin Silver by marrying him and winning together. They are so funny together, and I also love how unserious the other siblings are as well. Having to fight to the death each year as an immortal with your siblings is a great way to get rid of your pent up anger I do have to say lol. The only problem is, Genevieve is not immortal, and she should have died every single round, but she somehow just gets injured enough to black out and then makes it to the next round. The ending felt a little too convenient, but so was the rest of the book so I didnโt expect any less. This ending was more satisfying than Phantasma, and I loved the romantic connection between Rowin and Genevieve, so this was a 4 Star for me!!

Thank you very much for this arc.
I loved the first book so I wasn't sure how this one would top it....but it completely surprised me!! This was a good tier book..I honestly ate it up.
Genevieve and Rowin are the main two characters in this story and there banter was brilliant and I really enjoyed reading about them.
The first book was a 3star but this is definitely 4.5 for me easily so I'm going to give it the higher rating x
I will continue to recommend this series and author and look forward to what comes next. Thank you

This was EVERYTHING! I loved book one, like really loved book one and I think I like book 2 more? In a way it was very similar yet totally different. While less gruesome in the trials, ghouls, and depictions of OCD, Enchantra had its own unique dark ambiance. There was more heartache in the fact of having your own family members being forced to hunt each other down to the final family member. I fell in love with the Silver Family and I want more books with each member getting their own happy ending!!
As for our star couple, Genevieve and Rowin are like the hottest couple ever. Chemistry just off the charts for like the entire book. Genevieveโs sass was absolutely unmatched and I loved seeing more of her fire and funny one liners in this book. I also loved seeing a deeper side of her and getting more into her hopes, desires and fears as well as her backstory with love and how it shaped her reactions. As for Rowin, I would love to climb him like a tree. PIERCINGS WHERE??? Listen if he called me Trouble, I probably would just babble nonsense. Literally in love with him and this book, give me fifteen more like ASAP!

Kaylie Smith hit it out of the park again. I devoured this book and I will continue to recommend this it. It's incredible

Tropes:
-marriage of convenience
-dark fantasy romance
-MMC is a shadow wraith
-grumpy x sunshine
-banter
-deadly games and trials
-shadow play
-curvy FMC
-forced proximity
This was such a fun read. I loved Phantasma, and I didnโt think there was any way I could love this one as much, but I did. I consumed it in one day. I couldnโt stop. The love these two have for each other is swoonworthy.
The banter between Genevieve and Rowin is delicious. It creates the perfect amount of tension that simmers until it eventually boils over. Their relationship development feels realistic. They might start the marriage as strangers, but their mutual attraction makes them want to explore what could be.
The siblingsโ dynamic was a lot of fun. I loved all their scenes together. I would have loved to see them all together more.
I highly recommend Enchantra and Phantasma. They are both incredible reads.
Quotes:
โIโm a creature of Hell, worshipping is not usually in my nature.โ
โBut for whatever time you remain in my bed, I will make it your shrine.โ
โShadows can only be seen in the presence of light,โ he told her, the words agonized. โI worry when you leave, there will be no one left to see me.โ
โI want you to know, I really would have waited for you, right here, forever if thatโs what it would have taken. I would have stood in this spot until I could no longer distinguish my own soul from the shadows. Until your light came back to me.โ

I just finished Enchantra - A spicy fantasy romance - by Kaylie Smith and here are my thoughts.
Genevieve has questions about her mothers death and when no one will answer them for her, she goes in search of who she thinks is another necromancer that knew her motherโฆ Trouble is, she has forced her way into something she now canโt get out ofโฆ Enchantraโฆ She now has to compete in a dangerous game for the entertainment of others and all the other contenders are immortal. The only way she may survive is to pair up with Rowinโฆ but while the games are deadlyโฆ Rowin might be even more of a danger to herโฆ. heart.
This book is next in the wicked games seriesโฆ First book Phantasma.. Set quite the scene and this installment follows Genevieve and her quest for answers. Phantasma was goodโฆ This one was BETTER! I liked the build up between Rowin and Genevieve. It felt more authentic and you can tell the author really found their footing with the story.
The tension was delicious and I liked the build upโฆ It was sexually charged and the banter was on fore!! I hate the marriage of convenience tropes but this book made me a believer!! It was done really well. I felt like Genevieve was a much more realistic FMC. She didnโt act as aggressive as sister and I kinda liked that. Rowin was pure deliciousness so I can see why she fell for him.
The pace was really good as well and I was sucked right in. The only beef I really have is how the author has been ending the books. I feel like the door was slammed in my face.
Itโs really well balanced for a spicy read as it actually has a plot and character development! Thatโs the trisecta of perfection.
4.5 stars
Thank you to @netgalley @secondskybooks and @kaylsmoon for my gifted copy!!

I was sooo happy to be back in the world of the Wicked Games series after loving Phantasma last year. Enchantra is the second standalone novel in this series (although I would recommend reading Phantasma first) following Genevieve, Opheliaโs sister from Phantasma. When a mysterious friend of their motherโs invites Genevieve to Italy, she accepts. She arrives at his grand palace, expecting passion, magic, decadence, and luxury. What she doesnโt expect is the ownerโs family caught in an insidious game of hide and seek, where only one can win. The rest will be trapped in Hell... until the competition begins again the following year.
Genevieve must either join the hunt or forfeit any hope of escaping. To her dismay, her best chance of survival lies with the ownerโs ruthlessly handsome and exceptionally rude son, Rowing Silver. Since lovers may play as a pair, Rowin and Genevieve agree to form an alliance under the guise of a fake courtship. However, as they race through the gameโs elaborate labyrinth, trapped among gleaming gold and shining marble, their loathing gives way to irresistible attraction. Only Genevieve canโt help but wonder if sheโs trapped in two treacherous games: Enchantra and the one Rowin is playing with her heart.
I had such a fun time following the various rules and rounds of the Hunt. The dynamic of the Silver siblings and the way they each cope with their terrible curse was also super interesting to explore in the novel. This book felt like a multi-character study wrapped into one. Of course, the dynamic between Rowin and Genevieve was filled with so much tension and chemistry as well. Iโd recommend this for my readers who love a slow burn romance with a no-strings-attached deal between the lead characters. Individually, Genevieve and Rowin were great charactersโfrom Genevieveโs confidence and cleverness to Rowinโs quiet determination and possessiveness (as well as his multiple piercings, *ahem*). ๐
Iโm so happy to have even more works planned in this series and I canโt wait to see what Kaylie Smith cooks up next!

I really enjoyed Enchantra, I was worried that it was just going to be Phantasma in a different font, but it had its own unique storyline that I loved. I'm usually not a fan when a series starts with one sister then switches to the other sisters POV in the next book- but Enchantra changed my mind, it worked so well and I loved both ophelia and Genevieve.
The Silver family was such a fun, chaotic mess, and I enjoyed the different relationships they each had with each other. Genevieve and Rowin are great together, i love their chemistry and banter. The plot was great. However, I did find the ending a little rushed. I also think there's still quite a few unanswered questions from both phantasma and Enchantra, but I'm excited to see if there's a next book where that story goes.
Thank you to NetGalley, Kaylie Smith, and publisher for this E-ARC on exchange for an honest review!

I loved phantasma and was so excited when this book was announced! I have to say once i started i couldnโt stop reading. I was falling in love with characters and the found family and the banter! This kept my attention and i wanted to know more! I loved the relationship between guin and rowin, SO MUCH! Another 6 stars!

Iโm obsessed with this series. Smith can write a book boyfriend like no one else; she leaves me as a puddle of mush after - ๐ฅต. There truly isnโt a single detail about this book (and Phantasma) I didnโt love. From the setting of New Orleans as โhomeโ to the devilsโ games our more than mortal ladies find themselves the center of, this series is made for me. On top of the perfection of a story, the audiobook is 10/10, could not recommend more. Horowitz nails this narration. I canโt say enough praise for the entertainment packed into this story.
Thank you NetGalley, Kaylie Smith, Bookouture Audio, and Second Sky/Forever for the eARC and audiobook ARC of this deadly addictive story. ๐

I remember getting the ARC for Phantasma, worried it wouldn't be my cup of tea then proceeding to absolutely love it (I think of Blackwell and the blood shower scene regularly!). The same goes for Enchantra, I was afraid to start my ARC. Well, there was no need for the panic! I loved it!
I went into this ARC blindly, knowing none of the tropes bar the rough inkling that it will involve a haunted house with deadly games. And that it did! It's amazing how when you say haunted house/deadly games you assume it'll be regurgitation of Phantasma but it was done so uniquely!
This time around in the Wicked Games series we have a fake marriage, found family and some exhibitionism ๐ Genevieve and her new husband, Rowington Silver, will suck you in through each sinister round of The Hunt. Did I forget to mention he's a Shadow Daddy? ๐ค
Honestly, Enchantra is a must-read for any dark romance girlie who likes her passion edged with death defying odds ๐ค

This book was a really fun read and boy was it spicy. The yearning was chefs kiss and the fake courtship was amazing but there was something a tad off for me. I think it could have been a bit longer or more detailed - some of it felt a bit rushed and awkward to read - but overall i enjoyed it.
