I was hesitant on whether or not Kaylie Smith would be able to deliver another amazing story after Phantasma, especially because the concepts of Enchantra and Phantasma sound very similar on paper. However, Ms. Kaylie Smith did in fact DELIVER. Dare I say that I adore our Shadow Daddy Romin (and his side kick shadow fox Umbra) maybe a tad bit more than our ghost daddy?

Our FMC, Genevieve, is this curvy beauty who is trying to find her place in this paranormal world, and Rowin Silver just may have the answers. As a curvy babe myself, I absolutely adored that Genevieve's problems and worries did not come her appearance - in fact this was the area that she was most confident in. Her worries came from trying to find her purpose, her light, because her worries were so much bigger than the fact that she was not this petite little girl.

Fake marriages don't always impress me because the stakes aren't really there...there are high stakes here, that was not a concern of mine. And our very own Rowin Silver took his fake husband responsibilities VERY seriously - and I ate it right up.

I also loved the cast of side characters that we get in this book with all of Rowin's siblings, some who shine more than others, but it definitely expanded universe to allow for more books post Genevieve's story (which I am already looking forward to!).

I knocked off a star because I don't think the actual games of this story were very unique, there was just a lot of running compared to real action. But as someone wasn't necessarily picking this up for the action (of the non spicy kind that is), that didn't bother me too much. Overall, if you enjoyed Phantasma - you will enjoy this one as well.

Thank you Second Sky and NetGalley for the eARC of this book to review!

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! I loved that it picked up right where Phantasma ended and had the same gothic vibes. It’s dark, it’s sexy and everything I wanted the sequel to be (and more). The banter between Genevieve and Rowin was top-notch. The spice wasn’t quite as good as Phantasma but Rowin has…. piercings👀 yes PLURAL. The plot twist was a shock and ripped my heart out then sewed it back up and tied a bow on it!

I can’t wait for book 3 - fingers crossed Sevin gets his own book because that mans stole the SHOW!

The goods:
🖤 marriage of convenience
🖤 shadow MMC
🖤 enemies to lovers
🖤 trials

Thank you to Kaylie & Second Sky/Forever for the opportunity to read this early! I’m leaving this review voluntarily🖤

Genevieve Grimm just survived the nightmares of Phantasma, only to find herself stuck in a new wicked game. Drawn to the gates of Enchantra and then trapped within its walls, Genevieve must team up with the handsome wraith Rowin Silver to survive another devil's game. But unlike in Phantasma, the Hunt is even more deadly and infinitely more personal. The only way out of Enchantra is to win or to die. But for Genevieve, being hunted every night is not nearly as terrifying as her growing feelings for Rowin. Can she walk out of Enchantra with her life and her heart?

This book was a fantastic follow-up to Phantasma. I was gripped by the story, quickly turning pages to discover what happened next. Genevieve is an amazing FMC who never gives up and fights hard even when the odds are stacked against her. The romance with Rowin is devilishly steamy yet achingly romantic. It was fascinating to learn about the Silver family and get more insight into the world of paranormal beings. It was also wonderful to see Salem and Ophelia again, even for a short time. You do need to read Phantasma before this novel; it cannot be read as a standalone. I thoroughly enjoyed reading and recommend this book to anyone who loved Phantasma!

This was fun! Kaylie Smith does it again! I devoured this and did not want it to end! I'm going to need another book ASAP!

Sass and a brooding certified lover boy, what's not to love. Genevieve and Rowin are everything. I didn't think it was possible but I may have loved this more than the first one.

I really had high hopes for this book, as I loved Phantasma, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the expectations. The book follows Genevieve, after the Phantasma events, where she finds herself, again, trapped in a mysterious house with mysterious people. I enjoyed the first half of the book but I felt the second half, especially towards the ending, was really rushed. I couldn’t believe I only had a handful of pages left and so much to reveal, the ending was good and unexpected, but I wished it was developed a bit more. Over all, it’s a good book but didn’t match the thrill of the first one for me.

Kaylie smith does it again 😭

Phantasma was one of my top reads for 2024 and Enchantra has taken its spot for 2025!!

I had such a good time reading this, Rowin & Vivi’s story was absolutely perfect. Fun, flirty, dangerous, deadly & exciting.
I couldn’t get enough of it, the trials, the relationships, the world everything!

Thank you Net Galley, Kaylie Smith & Second Sky for the e-arc! 🥰

One thing about Kaylie Smith, she always clears with her ability to build a setting and flesh out characters. I think I wanted a little bit more from the games than we received but overall a fantastic addition to this world overall.

If I could this 6 stars I would.

“Inside the walls of Enchantra you’re no longer Genevieve Grimm. You’re my wife.”

“But the death of people you loved was infinitely worse.”

“The light is wherever you are.”

A story of trust, vulnerability, excitement, and challenges.

Okay let me be selfish for a sec I think Kaylie wrote this book FOR ME. Forced proximity, marriage of convenience, MY WIFE, and enemies to lovers. Plus all of these tropes done perfectly!!? If I could, my review would simply be a ROUND OF APPLAUSE cause Kaylie are you kidding? This book was phenomenal.

It grips you RIGHT AWAY and even when I put it down (due to not being able to stay home and read all day) I was still thinking about how I wanted to get home and read. Vivi (I feel like we’d be besties) is such a fun and spunky character. I loved her personality SO MUCH. She makes you laugh, but also is just someone that wants to find herself. Rowin…is literally amazing. He loves without telling you, but simply shows you by his actions. I was sobbing at the end of this book yall and I did not AT ALL expect it. The enemies to lovers in this is top tier cause these two do NOT like each other and I was blushing immediately and she barely met the man.

The writing!!? This authors writing is amazing, the imagery displayed made me feel like I was watching a movie, only to blink and realize I was looking at my kindle. I felt all the intensity in each game, it was very thrilling which I loved and made me tapping to the next page so quick. I NEEDED to know what happened. I would also like to give an honorable mention to the siblings and most of all Umbra. My favs <3

This book was just SOOOOOO good guys so good.

“We’re certainly capable of hating someone in a short period of time——on sight, even. I don’t see why love should be any different.”

4.5 stars.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Genevieve in Phantasma, but I was still interested in seeing what would come next for her.

And just like Phantasma, Enchantra moves quickly. Genevieve is on the hunt to get more information about her late mother and ends up at Enchantra, at just the wrong time. She’s stuck there now, and forced to marry Rowin in order to survive the magical games of the Hunt.

Genevieve makes a lot of impulsive decisions at the beginning, making you want to shake your fists, but Rowin is there to keep her alive. They have a bit of enemies-to-lovers vibe, with both of them constantly bickering at the beginning, and it may be a bit of a trauma bond, but they soon fall for each other.

So basically I’m hooked on this series and I can’t wait for more books about Rowin’s siblings—hellooooooo Sevin!

Lastly, Laura Horowitz is such an amazing narrator. She does such a great job at differentiating between Genevieve and Rowin, I nearly forgot I was listening to the same person the whole time. I hope she’s on board to do the future books in the series!

Rarely is the second book in a series as good, if not better, than the first. This one is. I read Phantasma late last year so it has been a bit, and I really didn't want to follow Genevive's story, but I found myself sucked in after the first couple chapters. She is lost, heartbroken and is trying to find where she fits in the world which is something I think most people can relate to.

Genevive having written letters to her moms old friend in a effort to find out more about who she is, gets an invitation to Enchantra. Little does she know what awaits. When she arrives she is dismissed by an arrogant man who tells her to leave. She refuses and enters Enchantra anyways only to find out she stepped foot into another game and to survive she would have to marry the awful guy she just met.

Tropes:
Found family
Enemies to lovers
Shadow daddy
Devils
Demons
familiars
animal sidekicks
trials
touch her and die
banter

I loved the found family trope, and this family is big and every person has their own personality which just adds layers to the story. The romance is amazing. Mainly because the takeaway is you can't search for someone or something to make you whole or happy you have to have it already. And not relying on someone else to make you feel worthy. The spice was great and I loved Genevive's confidence in herself in that regard. The banter is on point. Towards the end there is a bit of Ophelia and Salem but I didn't really miss them as I fell in love with Rowin and Genevive. I laughed, my heart broke, it mended again and I loved this book until the last page. I could see how another book with all of them would be amazing. And I do hope we will get more of these characters!

Enchantra reminded me of a supernatural fantasy remix of the movie Ready Or Not with a side of spooky Squid Games. Fans of paranormal dark romance will love this sequel of Phantasma. Book 2 takes place in a castle in Italy and focuses on Ophelia's sister, Genevieve.

It has:
🖤 A new high stakes competition
🖤 Great tension and banter
🖤 Faked romance & forced proximity
🖤 Cutie animal familiars
🖤 A new shadow daddy to swoon over
🖤 Sassy FMC you'll root for
🖤 Spicy scenes

Enchantra is a unique and creative romantasy with a fun storyline and characters. I liked it so much more than the first. So, if you loved the romance moments in Phantasma, I think you'll absolutely adore Enchantra.

Thank you @netgalley for the early copy of this! Make sure to grab it when it's published April 8th. I loved every moment if this book and will for sure be buying a copy for my shelves and hope there will be another book in the series coming out.

Now while I loved Phantasma when I read it this year I didn’t love this one as much.

The vibes of the dark gothic setting were still there and I did love the ready or not games kind of setting. I felt they fell a little flat. I felt like every game was the same thing so it got a little repetitive.

I loved the Silver family. Specifically Sevin, they all brought their own personalities to the book and were quite entertaining.

Now for the romance. Not my favorite. I felt like any time they were together it just came out of nowhere and their chemistry wasn’t fully there for me.

I still enjoyed the book and it was a fun time, but some things just didn’t quite hit the same like in Phantasma.

Thank you NetGalley and Second Sky/Forever for this eARC.

As the sequel to Phantasma, this book expands the story in thrilling new ways, weaving together deadly games, forbidden romance, and a heroine who must learn to survive in a palace built on deception.

While I wasn’t Genevieve’s biggest fan in Phantasma, this book completely changed my perspective. Giving her a dedicated POV was necessary and I absolutely loved her!

The eerie grandeur of Silver Manor and the deadly thrill of The Hunt made for an unforgettable setting. Genevieve’s arrival at Enchantra throws her into a high-stakes game where survival means navigating illusions, secrets, and a reluctant partnership with the arrogant yet irresistible Rowin Silver. The fake-marriage trope adds an extra layer of tension, especially as the line between act and reality begins to blur.

Though the first half required some patience as it took me a bit to settle into the plot, the story truly takes off, becoming completely addictive. With its dangerous alliances, heart-racing twists, and morally gray romance, Enchantra is a must-read for fans of dark fantasy and slow-burning intrigue.

I love the marriage of convenience trope so much purely because the couple always end up loving each other so much more. And the possessiveness is great too 🤭

I can’t lie, I loved Phantasma so so much that I was worried Enchantra wasn’t going to live up to my expectations. BUT I’m so happy to say that I loved Enchantra a lot!

I really liked the games in this book. I won’t say a lot as I don’t want to spoil anything but they had me laughing sometimes and completely shocked other times.

I also have a feeling I know what the next book is going to be called but I’m not jumping to any conclusions yet 🤩

Thank you so so much to second sky books for sending me an ARC 💜

Pre-warning this very first sentence is probably going to come off as really mean. But if someone were to ask my immediate first thoughts about “Enchantra” it would be flat out this book should not exist. Now don’t take this the wrong way. I’m all down for books having sequels or spin-offs. However, they need to be executed well. And sadly “Enchantra” wasn’t executed as well as I was hoping it could be.

Its predecessor “Phantasma” was one of my top books of 2024. Its premise was unique and immediately drew me in. I was expecting “Enchantra” to follow the same formula. I mean for crying out loud we had returning characters and another cursed game to solve. On top of that we also got a trove of new characters and one of my favorite tropes, marriage of convenience. But even all of the that ultimately wasn’t enough to bring my rating out of the just ok territory. Now don’t get me wrong there were some enjoyable and entertaining moments it just wasn’t enough. Most of the trials of the game I found to be either super boring or repetitive. Leaving me feeling underwhelmed and the twists were extremely predictable.

To top it off I wasn’t feeling Genevieve as a main character. At times I found her to be childish and annoying. Plus I was hoping we would use this book to really dive into her magic. However, we just brushed right on over it and ultimately left me with more questions than answers. Now in terms of our main male lead Rowin was the exact opposite. I throughly enjoyed his character and am extremely glad I have a new favorite shadow daddy to add to my fictional roster.

The relationship between Rowin & Genevieve took me a bit more to get into than her sisters. But overall I enjoy them as a couple and the ending definitely sold me on their romance.

Overall, the big question Would I recommend reading “Enchantra”? Still yes, even though I had my gripes with it. I still enjoyed the story overall and could see fellow fans of the series enjoying the ride as well. Lastly big thank you to NetGalley & Forever Publishing for providing me an arc to read and review!

Kaylie Smith you wondrous human being, I am so obsessed with this world you have created, I think it might actually be unhealthy. But honestly what’s another unhealthy addiction at this point?

Enchantra starts off with Genevieve on the trip that Ophelia and Salem gifted her at the end of Phantasma. It’s here that we discover her ulterior motive, tracking down one of her late mother’s friends with the hopes of finding people like her, or even better, someone to actually care for her.
She ends up stumbling (aka flat out refusing to leave) into another set of games called the Hunt, that takes place at the Silver household, Enchantra.
It’s here we meet our wounded soul, the shadow man with piercings and moving tattoos, Rowin. And boy oh boy does he have a proposition for Vivi. The tension and stakes are high, will Genevieve have enough luck on her side to survive another house of games?

The way I literally screamed in the Starbucks drive thru when I got the notification of my ARC acceptance for this book. Thank you so much to NetGalley, and Second Sky/Forever for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely devoured this book. After being blown away by Phantasma and reliving the hype whenever my friends and booktok acquaintances would pick up the book after my recommendation, I knew that this sequel had the potential to do the same. I can honestly say, it exceeded expectations.
I loved Genevieve in the small glimpses we got of her in the first book, even if she is a bit impulsive, but I mean so am I so we’re kindred spirits. Her dream of finding people like her, to cherish her is something I yearn for also, hence why the found family trope is one I will always adore. Her character development in this book is something I aspire to. And frankly she’s a pretty cool character with her Spector abilities and her cheeky comments whenever someone tries to knock her down.
And then Rowin. Rowin. Rowin. Rowin. You poor tortured soul. You can be my book husband any day. The way that he cared for Genevieve from the start. So many quotable lines and not one, not two, but over three declarations of “She’s mine!”? SOLD. And oh my lanta the tension between these two had me sweaattinnggg 🫠
I was worried that the games would feel too similar to Phantasma but Enchantra was completely unique! Without spoiling, I liked how these games allowed there to be more focus on our main characters, allowing them real time to interact and build trust.

Overall this book is my favourite of the Wicked Games series so far. I really hope we get more books set in this world, especially with the rest of the Silver siblings. I do recommend reading Phantasma first as there are spoilers in this book as to how the first plays out.

I was so thrilled to receive this eARC and be back in the world of Wicked Games! Once again, we get a wicked and captivating story.
Genevieve Grimm has felt lost since her sister took over as the head of the family. When a mysterious friend of their mother’s invites her to Italy, she accepts. She expects answers, magic, and a midnight ball, but the owner’s son slams the door in her face. She doesn’t accept this answer and slips inside. Maybe she shouldn’t have. Now, she is caught with Rowin and his family in an insidious game of hide and seek, where only one can win. Will she survive another devil’s game?
She writes, and I will read it. That’s how much I love this author and her writing. I loved Enchantra, maybe even more than Phantasma. It’s another deadly game, but I love how the hide-and-seek aspect makes it unique. This book was definitely a lot more romantic than its predecessor. Genevieve and Rowin communicate. Secrets are revealed, and vulnerabilities crack open. By the end, the romance felt truly earned. Like Vivi says, "If you don’t mean it, you can keep it." One of my favorite scenes was when they played Two Truths, One Lie.
She may not always think before acting, but I loved Vivi (Genevieve) and her personality. I was curious about her in Phantasma, and I wasn’t disappointed. She will survive no matter what. She isn’t shy about her curves and her sexuality. She totally destabilizes Rowin! Rowin—oh my god—I loved his evolution throughout the book! We get to discover him alongside Vivi, and my heart melted. He goes from cold to fire, passionate with Vivi. Not only is he a shadow daddy, but he will also steal your heart with his "my wife" and his "touch her and die." I should not forget the name he gives her: Trouble. I LOVED IT SO MUCH! The ending was pure torture!
In conclusion, I’m obsessed! I would definitely go for an arranged marriage with a shadow daddy on a Tuscan estate, complete with a giant hedge maze, deadly games, and a cursed found family. (Doesn’t mean I would survive the game XD) Who’s coming with me to this estate? There are still six single siblings left!

You will find in this book:
👪Found family but make it murderous
💍Arraned Marriage/fake dating
🎭Masquerades, ball gowns, and piranhas
😈Touch her and die
🌓Shadows vs sunshine
🦊Cute animal companions

Phantasma walked so Enchantra could RUN 🙌

Enchantra is an interconnected standalone to Phantasma that follows Genevieve, Ophelia’s sister, on her adventure in a mysterious palace full of paranormal magic and danger at every turn.

Similar to Phantasma, there are high stakes deadly games, lush descriptions throughout, shocking, jaw dropping twists, and likeable (dare I say loveable?) beings from H*ll. I loved Genevieve as the FMC- she’s confident, quite humorous, yet very relatable, and the chemistry between her and the MMC is top notch.

Enchantra features deliciously well done tropes like fake marriage, reluctant allies, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, bickering and banter, heated slow burn tension, and spice. Compared to Phantasma, the gore and spice are dialed back slightly but the characters, relationships, and overall pacing are better developed.

I wish I did a re-read of Phantasma first so some minor details were fresh in my mind. Eventually though, everything was explained.

I really liked Phantasma, but I LOVED Enchantra!

Thank you NetGalley and Second Sky for sending me this ARC for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Big thank you NetGalley and to the publisher for the chance to review this book pre-release. I read this one so so so so so fast, I'm utterly upset that it's over!! I loved Vivi and Rowin SO much, possibly even more than I loved Ophelia and Salem! Their banter was top notch, I loved the family dynamic between the Silvers, and Vivi is just SO. DANG. FUN. I can't wait to see what follows next, because after that ending, there HAS to be more!!!!!

A more formal review will be available on my IG/TikTok and Goodreads for release.

Yes, yes, a million times yes!

I loved Phantasma and I was nervous to read this book. I knew Genevieve was getting a book and after reading the description for this book I was afraid it was going to be way to similar to Phantasma. I have never been happier to be wrong. Enchantra was it's own book and it was a phenomenal read that kept me on the edge of my seat and had me canceling my plans to read.

Genevieve was such a relatable character. I too am the youngest daughter that was overlooked a lot of the time and just wanted someone to see me. I could feel her pain throughout the entirety of this book because she was just a phenomenally written character.

The Silver family is everything and I hope every single one of them get books. Each of them had such unique personalities that developed throughout this story and I fell in love with all of them for different reasons and at different moments.

Rowin, Rowin, Rowin. I am always a sucker for a sad and tortured male main character and this man DELIVERED. He was the emo man of my dreams that came complete with a lip ring, tattoos, and possibly some other piercings that I won't go into too much detail on. Wink, wink.

This plot was fast paced and just truly unique. The banter and the chemistry between these characters is unmatched. I fell hard for this book and I fell hard fast. This is a series of interconnected stand alones, and I do feel like you could read this book without reading Phantasma first, but I highly recommend reading them in order. This book is it's own complete story, but it does have tie ins to the first book and there is somewhat of an overarching storyline that ties these books together.

Thank you so much to Second Sky Publishing for the advanced copy of this book! I am obsessed and I can't wait for more from this author and this amazing world they have crafted.
