A story inspired by Madame butterfly but with ghosts, queer romance, and family secrets! When Adam, a Japanese-American boy finds a mysterious diary in his attic that tells the story of a young woman's life in Nagasaki from 100 years ago.... he finds similarities between their lives. Adam becomes obsessed but the more he reads the more he begins to see a ghost that also haunts the writer of the diary... and as he discovers his own family secrets and travels to Japan... things only spiral further. This was definitely an interesting story and had a propelling mystery. Getting to read a story within a story and having lots of family drama. It's definitely a fun ghost story for YA readers and one I think many can enjoy.
