The story of three sisters, all different, but always there for each other is heartwarming. Joey, Karen and Leeann all live in the same town along with their dad. They meet once a week there for dinner and to catch up on things. Leeann is the oldest, who is married. She is quite pushy and has to always do the "right thing. Karen is recently widowed and decides it's time to get on with her life. Joey, the youngest, has moved back home after practicing as an attorney in Idaho. She is working on the ranch now and is the most "unsettled" of the three sisters.
I enjoyed listening to this audio, as it was a light read. I thought the narrator was great, reading with an accent to fit the characters.
Thank you to Dreamscape Audio and NetGalley for this ARC.

This book is a perfect fit for readers who are drawn to stories that delve into the complexities of family relationships and explore the emotional depths of women as they face personal challenges. The narrative is likely to resonate with those who appreciate tales of resilience, sisterhood, and the enduring bonds that tie families together through thick and thin. Readers can anticipate a story that captures the nuances of human emotions and the intricate dynamics that shape our lives.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. This was a cute book. It was in the eyes of multiple people (a family and love interest) a good drama/romance.
The characters were all relatable and it was like watching a cozy Hallmark drama movie. Highly recommend.

EXCERPT: Her new husband looked at her then, his eyes boring into her soul. "And promise you'll always remember I love you."
The sound of his voice still seemed so real, even after all these months. She sunk to the curved stone bench. Tears collected in her eyes and spilled over, making their way down her cheeks. She fingered the familiar lid on the box.
I'm sorry Dean, I can't do it.
No matter that she had gotten out of her bed while it was still dark outside with the best intentions. She still wasn't ready to let him go.
Not now - and maybe never.
ABOUT 'SISTERS': Karyn Macadam is starting over after losing her husband to a skiing accident. A chance encounter with a backcountry pilot might be this young widow’s one shot at a new beginning, but only if she can let go of the past.
Leigh Ann Blackburn is the perfect wife, until her husband grows more distant and she believes the worst. An outrageous plan to save her marriage turns the situation on its head and she soon learns not everything is as it seems.
Joie Abbott, who always finds a way to mess up her life, has done it yet again. This time a bitter betrayal threatens to expose a heartache she desperately wants to keep secret, especially from her family.
Through romance and heartbreak, laughter and tears . . . life is always better with your sisters at your side.
MY THOUGHTS: Sisters, #1 in the Sun Valley series by Kellie Coates Gilbert, was first published in 2014 and has just been rereleased on audio narrated by E.L. Beckett.
This is a sweet story about three adult sisters navigating their way through life and all the curveballs that get thrown at us.
Karyn's husband Dean was killed in a ski accident, and she is finding it difficult to move on with her life.
Leigh Ann overhears some gossip in the supermarket and learns that she may have a rival for her husband's affection.
Joie is going through rather a late wild child phase as a result of a broken romance she has had to keep secret.
Sisters is the first in a four-book series, so there is plenty more drama to come with these women and their love interests. Their father Edwin is a lovely man, a widower who is being hotly pursued by all the widow's - or the 'Bo-Peeps' as his daughters refer to them - in the area. I would quite like a book about him!
I love family dramas but found Sisters a little saccharine and superficial for my taste. I like my reads to have a little more depth in the characters. Unfortunately, I never became fully absorbed in this storyline and cringed at some of the occurrences, especially with Leigh Ann. What was she thinking? All three sisters seemed to me to be quite desperate and needy, although I ended up quite admiring Joie.
Which brings me to another point - the narrator at times pronounced Joie as Joy and others as Joey. The first couple of times this happened kind of threw me for a loop, but eventually I became used to it and stopped wondering if there was another character in the script. Other than that, the narration was great.
I have no compulsion to continue with the series, but if you enjoy a quick and easy to read family drama with a substantial side serving of romance, this should satisfy your needs.

Sisters
by Kellie Coates Gilbert
Narrated by E.L. Beckett
As I began listening to this audiobook, I experienced an immediate sense of familiarity with the storyline. As I progressed through the chapters, it became clear that I had read this book before, originally published on May 27, 2014. My initial impression was that the story is not only entertaining but also rich in complexity, as the three sisters navigate the ups and downs of life, both together and separately. Each sister embarks on her own individual journey that reveals their distinct personalities and struggles:
- Karyn, the youngest sister, grapples with the profound loss of her husband, navigating the challenges of widowhood while trying to rediscover herself.
- Leigh Ann, the oldest sister, takes on the role of the perfectionist and the conventional authority figure. Her bossy demeanor often complicates her relationships with her siblings, as she strives to hold the family together.
- Joie, a former lawyer, attempts to escape the haunting memories of her past and the choices that led her away from a promising career. Her journey is marked by her quest for redemption and self-acceptance.
However, I found the narration by E.L. Beckett to be a disappointment. Having already read the book, I had a specific emotional connection to the characters that I felt were not captured in her performance. Her voice and emotional portrayal did not align with the vivid characterizations I experienced while reading the author’s original text. Overall, while the story itself is compelling, the narration fell short of my expectations. This is not a reflection of her work but on myself as this was my second go around.

Fun. Light and breezy read. Relatable characters. Room for growth and life changes for the characters in the next installment.

Three sisters, all grown are now back living in the resort town where they grew up. Each has had a satisfying life. However, two have had traumatic experiences in the recent past and one of them thought she was happily married, but now she's not so sure.
This is a great story. I love the characters and the storyline. I listened to the audio book and the narrator is wonderful. I look forward to the next book in the series.

A small town story about family and all that goes along with it. We meet three sisters, each of them are dealing with their own life crises in their relationships. They love each other very much, but are so very different and in very different places. It was a nice listen, that left a lot open ended. I look forward to the next in the series.

Sisters Honest ARC Audiobook Book Review
Set in Sun Valley, Idaho, this novel offers a thought provoking window into the lives of three sisters as they navigate unexpected events in life.
I really enjoyed getting to know each of the main characters as their stories were very relatable and different from one another. Each at varying stages in life, yet completely supportive of one another.
This was a clean contemporary romance and a great addition to your TBR list!
Thank you for sharing this ARC Audiobook with me.

Fans of women’s fiction will want to pick up Sisters by Kellie Coates Gilbert. I listened to the audiobook and I loved it.

I listened to the audiobook Sisters by Kellie Coates Gilbert. The first thing I have to say is the narrator for me had a voice that did not fit the characters in the book. It took a lot for me to keep my interest in what was happening. The narration did not allow me to visualize what was going on in the story. There was not much emotion coming through.
I like reading books about sisters and how they interact together, and this one had all of that for me. I will get a copy of the book to read so I can delve deeper into the lives of the sisters. I look forward to the next book in the Sun Valley Series.
Thank you NetGalley, Kellie Coates Gilbert and Dreamscape Select for the Audiobook. This is my personal review.

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 Stars (Meh)
Setting: Sun Valley, Idaho
Genre: Women’s Fiction
I really wanted to love Sisters. The setting in Sun Valley, Idaho, was beautifully described, and the writing itself was smooth and polished. However, despite the promise of deep emotional journeys and life-changing choices, the plot felt flat and unexciting.
I kept waiting for something significant to happen, for the characters’ struggles to pull me in—but instead, everything unfolded in a way that felt predictable and, at times, stagnant. While the relationships between the women had touching moments, the pacing made it difficult to stay invested. I appreciate character-driven stories, but I needed more tension, more depth, and more reason to keep turning the pages.
That said, if you enjoy quiet, introspective novels with strong themes of sisterhood and personal growth, this might be a good fit. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me. #Sisters #netgalley #booked_this_weekend
