What’s worse than walking in on your boyfriend proposing to his other girlfriend? Heading to your romantic vacation house you no longer had planned to use with him and finding him there with ANOTHER fling. And when a bad revenge prank leads to the discovery of his dead body, you’d do anything to save your ass and the asses of your new buddies. The Ex-Girlfriend Murder Club is an unbreakable bond.
What a rollercoaster ride of emotions! This book was filled with humor, engaging dialogue and heartfelt conversations. I was sucked in from the moment I opened the book. The characters are relatable and their friendship is addicting. Throw a new hunky man in the mix and this book was perfect.
I do have to say though, as a a thriller fan, I’ve been trained to think about things a different way and I figured out the end game about half way through. BUT it did keep twisting and turning all the way up the end.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Gloria Chao for the opportunity of the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I loved this fun read by Gloria Chao. It was entertaining, funny, and well written. The characters were well thought out, as well as the story itself.
I am hoping for more like this by this author.

How absolutely enjoyable!
I was intrigued by the synopsis and decided to give the author a try. I’m so glad I did that! I really connected with the characters and their pursuit of justice.
So Kat is a fun, albeit a little bit of a quirky woman, who is enjoying her relationship with Tucker. He’s just what she needs, isn’t that what we all hope for? Someone who understands us.
Imagine her astonishment when she learns the truth about Tucker—he’s not what he seems, and he’s brought chaos into her life.
It’s not simply her life that he’s turned upside down, though... and the ensuing mystery of why, and what is actually going on, was very entertaining. I enjoyed seeing the development of Kat, Olivia, and Elle’s friendship as they united to seek revenge, until the investigation moves past retribution and centers on finding Tucker’s killer, a path filled with shocking revelations. Adding the Dish Served Hot podcast elevated the mystery, creating a captivating narrative around Mandy’s role; her cryptic involvement sparked intense curiosity among her listeners. This author’s creativity was fun to follow, the pages turning quickly as I watched each woman navigate the increasingly complex situation, feeling the tension build with every twist and turn.
The whole thing was really captivating, and I’m happy with how it ended for everyone. This is a great read, and I’m looking forward to the author’s next book.
I thank HarperCollins Publishing and Netgalley for my ARC, and voluntarily leave my review.

One man, 3 women and a murder. I had a great time with this who dunnit mystery it was hard to put down. The main FMCs name was Kathryn who works as a chemist in a lab as a postdoc graduate at Harvard. The other MCs are Troy who works in finances, Olivia who is a lawyer and Elle who is an aspiring writer. These three women come together as women scorn to pull a prank on the man who hurt them. The only thing they found was his body. The Ex-Girlfriend's Murder Club had such an amazing found family trope and discovering childhood trauma to heal from. I wanted to be on this ride with these ladies and rate this 4/5 stars. I just wish we saw more of what happens at the end with relationships.

The cover of this book was initially what caught my attention! I had no idea how much I would actually love it! This is my first humorous murder book that I have read. The wittiness, the jokes, and the metaphors were so clever. It’s a good thing I took chemistry, because all of the chemistry jokes made sense to me and had me laughing so hard at times!
This book had a very strong beginning. It starts off with a guy that gets caught cheating. What strategy did the girls come up with? These girls came up with a bunch of silly, sparkly, disgusting and disturbing pranks to play on him at his house. These girls thought he was out on a trip, so it was the perfect timing. They were on the revenge and nothing was going to stop them until…. Well they found him unalived in his own home.
After finding him, the girls get together a plan on what to do next. Two of the three girls go on a podcast, while the chemist is set to go back to his house and clean. The chemist scrubs all of their DNA off of the inside of the house, then someone comes in and the chemist looks guilty. Even though their ex boyfriend was found like that, none of them did it. So, the three of them looked into his past and realized a lot of people wanted him gone. Eventually, after all the digging, they find out who murdered him. Were they 100% sure though? Did they find out that someone else could have done it? Even though the ending was somewhat predictable to me, it was still an overall great laugh out loud murder story!
I give this book a 4 out of 5 star rating! Thank you to NetGalley for providing me this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO READ THIS BOOK!!!! Thank you neutrally for the early copy I received. The plot was original and nothing I would have expected to happen!!

Three women realise that they’ve been dating the same man. This story, inspired by the movie, John Tucker Must Die, adds to it a cozy-ish murder mystery twist. The trio vow revenge on Tucker Jones for what he’s done, but before they can go through with their plans, he turns up dead…and they are, of course, prime suspects. Unless they can find out who did it before the police do. This was such an unexpected romp! Well paced and structured, with an abundance of wordplay that didn’t feel annoying, and characters that I was surprised grew on me as much as they did (this was because they weren’t caricatures or tropes like in many stories posing as cozy, and had actual development and growth). There’s been a hint that it might turn into a series—I certainly wouldn’t mind! I've been a fan of Gloria Chao's work since her YA debut. This is a fantastic branching out with her debut adult novel.

What would you do if you found out that your boyfriend wasn't just yours?
A cozy mystery with a hint of romance thrown in - The Ex-Girlfriend Murder Club was a quick read with a backbone built on quickly formed female friendship. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and very much appreciated the quirks of the main female character. It was awesome to have a story focused on a woman in STEM. Some of the punny humor in the beginning was a little forced, but that didn’t detract from the story for me.
There was a subplot of this book that required a suspension of belief—specifically what an investigating officer would allow someone that was potentially a suspect in his case to do—but what can ya do?
The plot twist was pretty choreographed, and I saw it coming from a mile away—but that isn’t a deal breaker for me. And I still appreciated the ending.
Overall this was a fun read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, fluffy murder mystery.

When Kat finds out she’s the other woman, she befriends Olivia and Elle, also the other women to get revenge on their ex. Only to end up in the middle of a murder investigation. Through the book Kat becomes more secure in her life while making two of the best friends she could have.
Full of twists, especially the one at the end, this book will keep you wanting to read.

A very fun, cozy, entertaining read!
This mystery was so funny and entertaining.
What would you do if you found out that your boyfriend was cheating on you with 2 other women?!?!
I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was the prime suspect.
This book was so light handed and fun. The humor was classic and the characters growth was touching….. and let’s not forget how sweet the revenge was

This was a super cute book. I thought that the premise was going to be fantastic. Nothing makes me happier than girls getting revenge on douchey guys. And I like that the main character was a sciencey nerdy type lady that kept on making terrible jokes. But jokes that I literally laughed about a lot.
Do I think that there was a lot of girl power in this book? Absolutely. Do I think that at some point it was a little over the top? Also absolutely. And I'm all for revenge. I think that it's something that doesn't happen a lot, so I was excited to read a book with a premise that is revenge.
Something that I did not like about the book was that I feel that the podcast situation did nothing to advance the plot. Yeah it was kind of interesting but it wasn't anything that was needed. It just took up space within the book. The book would have been just the same with or without those segments.
And I'm going to say it. I don't like the end. I feel like *spoilers coming so skip now!*
the murderer should have gotten away with it. I mean yeah she killed someone but didn't he deserve it? Which I know does not make me seem like a very good person to be saying that. But that's how I feel. I just wanted her to get away with it.
I was also slightly confused over the romantic interest with the police officer. It just seemed incredibly random. While I do love a romance and seeing the romance brewing, I just thought that it was totally out of character for a police officer to do that? Maybe? It just seemed really weird for a *another spoiler so skip now*
police officer to start making out with one of their main suspects. I mean it just didn't make sense. Also, it didn't make sense that he would just be like. Yeah, your team should definitely be investigating this murder instead of leaving it 100% up to the police.
Even though there were some things that I was very confused about, but didn't mean that I did not enjoy the book. I really did like it and I was able to read it within a day. It was super easy to read and it kept my attention. But there were some parts that I did roll my eyes over.
I would read more from this author. And I would suggest this if someone wants a quick and easy light-hearted read. It was cute!

Took me a while to get into but once I finally did it was very enjoyable. . Really enjoyed the plot twist if you don’t see it coming. It was a great cozy mystery/thriller read.

I immediately wanted to read this book just based on the cover and title. The beginning of the story is hilarious, and the funny bits are sprinkled throughout the story. I laughed out loud several times while reading this book. If you're looking for a short, lighthearted mystery, this is a good one to pick up! The revenge portion is immaculate!
I wish the book had stated or hinted at what a mini lop was. For a book of this style I feel like a person shouldn't have to look up something to understand part of the story. I felt the metaphors and malaphors became a little too forced as the story went on. They seemed to get more complicated for no reason and added nothing to the story. The podcast scenarios were interesting, but ultimately added nothing to the plot. I was able to guess the killer fairly early on, but I don't hate that. This is a fun read, and it play out exactly like that.

4.25 stars~
I really enjoyed this read! Murder mystery comedies are quickly becoming a fav genre of mine. I also really want to read more from this author, she was able to pack in so much character growth and mystery into a short novel all while making me laugh and not want to put the book down.
Tucker has been cheating on his girlfriend(s) and they want payback but in the best kind of way……
This book is for anyone who:
Enjoyed the Finlay Donovan series
Has been cheated on
Enjoys Dark Humored RomComs
Likes shorter books
Enjoys character growth
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this ARC <3

This book had so much potential, but it fell short more often than it hit. The relationship between the three women who became the ex-girlfriend’s murder club had the potential to become lifelong friendships, women supporting women, bonding over shared trauma. It started to develop a really deep friendship, but by the end of the book it didn’t quite get there. I loved the transcripts of a podcast throughout, but that never truly connected to the story in a meaningful way or had a tie in to the woman running the podcast. It felt like a loose end once finishing the book without having a connection to the murder or the women who are the main characters. I kept wondering when their investigation would pick up or I’d have a clue to who the murderer was and I never got that until it was revealed. The reveal and the ending were a bit anti-climatic.

Who doesn't love a little man murder mystery, being solved by some comical hijinks filled ex girlfriends who best bet have their own little internal vendetta. The cover made me want it, but the amusement, the female power leads, and the writing kept me laughing the entire time while also turning the page waiting for the newest twist! I can't wait for a physical copy and I know you will love this book as much as I do. The laughs are worth every single page!

What a fun read! I was immediately drawn in because of the title, but didn’t expect the way it drew me in until the end with some twists. This book follows three women, who’re all dating the same man, who just so happens to turn up dead. The character development here was also very enjoyable! You will definitely be laughing out loud and also wishing this could be real life at times (if you’ve been cheated on, you know!)

If you’re a fan of Finlay Donovan or Dial A for Aunties, then do not sleep on Gloria Chao’s upcoming mystery! This book features three women, who’re all dating the same man, who just so happens to turn up dead. Say less! With a fun, fast-paced plot that lives up to its gripping premise, Chao’s adult debut is destined to be a smash!

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and MIRA for providing this book, with my honest review below.
The Ex-Girlfriend’s Murder Club is one you may wish existed in real life - if you have been cheated on like our main character Kathryn. Short of that though, being able to read about the fictional version was the most fun. Refreshing with a murderer reveal I dare you to try to guess, the book focuses on three strangers who have one thing in common, their cheating ex (quite literally). When the three women decide to get back with some pranks things quickly spiral when they discover the ex was murdered.
I enjoyed the ladies’ hijinks as well as the more serious parts where they all faced some self realizations. Every character had her own personality which was fully formed by author Gloria Chao while not compromising on plot development. You will definitely laugh, and don’t think the lighter idea will hold back from having you gasping at the end either. Stellar read!

Add a little of the female empowerment found in the 1980's film '9 to 5'.
Sprinkle in more than a dash of female fierceness and friendship found in the 2000's version of "Charlie's Angels".
And you will enjoy a hilarious mystery romp that stars an Asian American woman as the protagonist who navigates not only a love life and career but her identity itself.
The title and cover may have snagged my initial interest but the writing kept me riveted till the very last chapter.
