Overall, I really like the idea of this book, but I think that the execution was a little rough around the edges.
Two small editing notes:
1. On page 1, the hammerhead shark looks as if it has a snout, which is odd because hammerhead sharks don't have snouts.
2. On page 11 (I believe) it says "who the who's in the lead" which makes zero sense, so I think it should be changed to "who's in the lead".
Now onto the bulk of the review. I loved the idea of an underwater amusement park; it's whimsical, fun, and entertaining. Additionally, there is so much detailed packed into this book that it really allows the reader to become immersed in the park, and it will keep little ones entertained for quite a while. I also really liked all of the facts that were included in this book, and I even learned some new things! However, I think the main thing that threw me off was some of the organizational choices. A lot of blurbs didn't line up with the specific animal that they were written about, and that made for a lot of confusion. I think that making it blatantly obvious which blurb goes with which animal would be beneficial, especially since this is a kids' book.
Overall, though, I had a lot of fun reading this book!

This is a nicely illustrated book. There is not a plot, so my children did not really enjoy this one.

Thank you for the ARC. My son is a little young for this book but he enjoyed the beautiful illustrations this book offered. He also loves fish lately so the underwater theme was a great read for us.

Thank you for the advanced copy! This was a great story for young readers and very well written! The pictures were entertaining!

Great book for many ages. Easy to read. Illustrations were fantastic. Fun information told in a unique way.

Another ocean themed homeschool mom book review! Is it obvious we love the ocean? Anyway, Underwater Park is an adorably illustrated children’s book about many of our aquatic sea friends as if they were apart of a theme park. The book begins with a map of the park and from there you will venture into each of the different theme park lands. Each of the 12 lands of the “theme park” hosts different species and explains in a kid friendly way a short description of each of the animals that reside in that part of the map. This is a very cute concept designed to pique the interests of younger readers, ages approximately 3-7.
Of course many thanks to NetGalley for this ARC, the publisher Albatros, and the author Helena Harastova!
