a sapphic librarian romance!!! ugh a book after my own heart 🥹 i’ve seen nothing but good things about burke’s stories and i knew i had to jump on the opportunity to make this my first!
from the book club aspect to the coziest vibes, this was a warm blanket and a hot chocolate on a rainy day personified. the romance was developed so beautifully you can’t help but melt over them and i wish andie would write my own love story ❤️🩹

This was a cute sapphic romance! I feel like every book I've read by this author keeps getting better. I especially loved the migraine rep in this book, I related and felt it was portrayed very well.

As someone who lives with debilitating migraines, With Stars in Her Eyes immediately resonated with me in a way few novels ever do. Chronic pain is so often glossed over or mischaracterized, but Andie Burke writes it in a way that seems genuine. Even though I don’t play the cello, I played violin for 10 years growing up, so the musical background hit close to home as well. Seeing a character I relate to so deeply genuinely brought me to tears. As a book lover, I enjoyed the cozy book shop setting as well. My only gripe was that some of the dialogue felt a bit corny. However, I still really enjoyed the story as a whole and would definitely recommend giving it a read!

I really wish I had read this at a different time. Because objectively, it was cute. I found some enjoyment in it. But otherwise, I feel overwhelmingly apathetic towards it. It was just okay? I liked the music plotline and the romance books, but the rest of it was so meh. I needed it to have something compelling, but instead, it was all mush. Maybe it's me, because I've liked Burke's other books, but this one felt like it was missing some charm.

“With Stars in Her Eyes” is the enchanting new novel from Andie Burke, the talented author of “Fly with Me.”
This delightful sapphic rom-com weaves humor with heartfelt moments as it navigates serious themes such as chronic illness. Burke's storytelling overall offers a warm and cozy atmosphere that celebrates second chances and fresh beginnings.
I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates a sprinkle of spice alongside beautifully crafted prose. A special thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing the ARC.

I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.

This book was so cozy and heartwarming! With Stars in Her Eyes is a sapphic romance that has everything I love: bookshop vibes, slow burn tension, and two people figuring out life while falling for each other in the best way.
Courtney Starling is basically in escape mode after her music career crashes and burns, so she hides out in her best friend’s bookstore, shelving books and running book clubs. Enter Thea Quinn, a piercing artist who just moved to town and is feeling all kinds of homesick. Naturally, she ends up at Courtney’s book club, and from there, it’s all stolen glances, flirty moments between the shelves, and the kind of slow burn chemistry that makes you need them to kiss already.
The romance? So well done. Courtney and Thea’s connection builds in such a natural, sweet way, and I loved how their relationship was full of these soft, intimate moments that made my heart melt. But of course, things don’t stay simple because Courtney’s past comes back to shake things up right when she’s starting to feel like herself again.
Beyond the romance, I really loved the themes of fresh starts, figuring out where you belong, and finding home in unexpected places (or people). It’s one of those books that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and just feel all the emotions. If you love bookish settings, sapphic romance, and characters with real depth, this one’s definitely worth picking up!
Thank you to NetGalley, Andie Burke, and St. Martin’s Press for the eARC of this book.

I thought this was such a cute romance read! I felt like the author did a great job at dealing with some of the heavy topics in this book. There’s so many things I loved about this book. The romance, the pets, the food puns, the banter. I felt like this book was super relatable and I really enjoyed that about it. I highly recommend checking it out!

Andie Burke’s writing is lush and immersive, capturing both the joy of falling in love and the fear of losing it. The tension builds beautifully, and the emotional payoff is as satisfying as the last note of a perfect symphony. It’s the kind of romance that reminds you why you believe in second chances, laughter through tears, and the sheer magic of finding someone who feels like home.

This was such a delightful read! Even though it tackles heavier themes, the story is full of heart. You can tell everything was written with intention, and it was really satisfying to see how it all came together. The dialogue between Thea and Courtney was fantastic—great banter! Plus, the side characters really played their parts well, adding extra depth and perspective to the story. It felt super relatable and was told in a way that was both comforting and honest. And I absolutely loved the little food puns sprinkled throughout! Overall, a truly lovely book. Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and St. Martin's Griffin for the ARC!

Emotional sapphic romance with Stars Hollow vibes. Courtney is a musician who is taking time off from touring to work at her friend’s bookstore. Thea recently moved to town to get some distance from her family and work on her photography.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for With Stars in Her Eyes to come out September 16, 2025.

“With Stars in Her Eyes” is a beautiful book. The characters have dealt with and are dealing with some pretty heavy issues, especially Courtney. And for Courtney especially, her past has resulted in some pretty dysfunctional thinking and behavior (quite understandably). However, while the story deals with some heavy topics, there is also a lot of humor, wonder and joy. There are so many things to love about this story — the friendship between Thea and Marshall and between Courtney and Sam; the bookshop “pets” and how they are incorporated into the story; Ms. Jeannie (who is kind of intimidating); the banter between Thea and Courtney, especially all the innuendo (intentional or not); the legal food puns; the joy and appreciation Thea experiences with her photography, especially using the older cameras and techniques she learned from her grandfather; the discussion of the books Thea and Courtney like to read; the descriptive intimate scenes; the book clubs; the lyrics of Courtney’s songs, etc.
