This book was really fun for me, as an adult reader, which tells me that the intended audience is going to love this! It's silly, full of heart, and just all around a good time. Runt Higgins, the non-morphing werewolf, was adorable. He was the type of character that makes me giggle, and also makes me want to keep reading. As I said, there's a whole lot of heart here!

If only the pacing had been a bit better, I think this would have been a solid 4 star book. Instead, there are portions that drag a bit. Although I understood the need for Runt to share his daily school life, in order to help drop clues as to who the mysterious culprit is, it did throw the pacing off. Runt was just so sweet though (although a bit gullible) that the pace didn't stop me from reading on. I had to know what the ending was, and see if another book was on the horizon.

This is a fun series! It's not often that we get to see things from the henchmen point of view. If they're all like sweet Runt, count me in for the rest of these books!
