This book is an absolute blast from start to finish, blending quirky humor with swoony romance in the best way. The chemistry between them is electric, and the way they reconnect over the course of the road trip is a beautiful mix of emotional growth, humor, and undeniable tension. The pacing is spot-on, the banter is hilarious, and the way their past tension melts away as they rediscover each other is heartwarming. It’s fun, heartfelt, and leaves you swooning for the unexpected love found along the way.

Thanks to Dutton Books for the ARC of this book! My goodness, I loved this one so much! I was really excited when this one hit my email, because I loved One on One. This book was the perfect Second Chance romance and with the road trip thrown in, it was a whole bunch of fun as well! If you like authors like Abby Jimenez, Jessica Joyce and Emily Henry, I think that you would really enjoy Jamie Harrow's writing style. She really blends the fun rom com with some depth and emotion so well. Both characters in this book felt real and relatable and the struggles they faced in their relationship were believable. This was an easy five stars for me and I can't wait for her next book! See below for a brief synopsis.
Quinn is a spin instructor for a popular streaming spin company (think Peloton) called CycleLove. She moved to LA from the East Coast when she was offered the job and she is fresh off of a breakup from one of her fellow instructors. She has lived in LA for many years but hasn't made that many meaningful connections. When her company sends her on a vacation, she decides to road trip to her best friend's thirtieth party. What she doesn't bank on is the fact that her longtime crush, Nate, who is also friends with her best friend. will ask if he can join her until she reaches Lake Tahoe so he can meet up with their mutual friend Logan to discuss something important. They had a "will they or won't they" type of relationship that never really landed and they haven't really spoken in a few years. When they get to Tahoe, Logan ends up leaving unexpectedly and Quinn and Nate follow him across the country and hit various parties on their hunt. Their connection is undeniable of course and they connect and realize that maybe they are meant for each other despite the obstacle in their way.

A deep romance more about a woman finding herself and healing from her past with a side of love. I really enjoyed Quinn's emotional journey.
Thanks to the publisher for the eARC in exchange for my review.

What a fun read! This book has a little bit of everything: complicated family dynamics, a cross country road trip, and a romance years in the making. I enjoyed the unique characters and backstories, like the (humorous yet also sincere) portrayal of the MLM Quinn’s mom was in. I loved the silly side quests woven throughout and flew through this book, although I wish we had more backstory on Quinn and Nate’s history.

I highly recommend Fun at Parties by Jamie Harrow. Her books keep getting better and better. I enjoyed One on One and loved Fun at Parties. I can't wait to see what she writes next. Quinn and Nate's road trip made for such an adorable story. Fans of Falon Ballard will enjoy this book.

Second chance romance AND their on a road trip??? Say no more, I’m there.
Quinn, our FMC, is a spin instructor who just went through being cheated on, a break up and having a mental breakdown during one of her classes. Her boss decides that it’s time for Quinn to take a break, which sends her on this several week road trip. Add in her friend/love interest Nate and things kick off. From cabins in the woods to pool parties to chaotic baby showers, Quinn & Nate are on journeys of self discovery, stepping out of their comfort zones and questioning what it is that brings them fulfillment.
While I enjoyed the banter between Quinn and Nate, it took a little bit for me to get into their “second chance” part of the romance. Nothing is really explained immediately and when it is, it’s a little confusing with the flashbacks being told at the exact same time in the present. I wish they were separate chapters and maybe we saw a little more of a dive into their earlier friendship but some explanation, I was excited to see where their romance was going to.
I’m glad that by the end, Quinn had come to terms with making the decisions she needed to make in order to find happiness in her life. There were moments that I felt frustration with her and her lack of standing up for herself, but I understand that was part of her growth. The ending just left a lot of unanswered questions for me since there was not epilogue. Does she make the move?? What happens with her and her mother?? What about Michelle and the baby? Does Logan end up following through on his goals? I wish there had been something at the end to give us more closure.
Overall, I enjoyed the story! It was cute, funny and had good character growth.

Quinn Ray, a cycling instructor for a popular spin company akin to Peloton, finds that being their cheerful ray of sunshine isn't all it's cracked up to be when her boyfriend cheats on her and she's forced to take leave after lashing out in frustration at the end of a spin class. She takes off on a cross-country trip with Nate, a friend she wishes could be more. Plans go off the rails when they chase a friend from one party to another across the country in an attempt to find him so Nate can talk about a business venture. As they travel, Quinn learns being herself is exactly enough and that she and Nate are meant for each other after all.

I highly recommend this book!

3.5⭐️. This is ultimately a story about losing yourself in a problematic job. I loved the road trip aspect of this novel, and the character development throughout was nicely paced. I loved that the main character was a spin instructor!

4! Quinn Ray is an online cyclist instructor who is known for her sunshine-like energy, but after a very public breakup, she desperately needs a break. That’s how she ends up on a cross-country road trip—with her ex-crush in the passenger seat!
Quinn originally planned this trip as a way to reset and get her life back on track. But when Nate hears about it, he asks to join her for one of her stops. As a people pleaser, Quinn agrees, even though she’s not entirely thrilled about it. Somehow, what was supposed to be a solo journey turns into a wild goose chase across the country to track down a friend. On top of that, Quinn is juggling content creation for her job, with her boss constantly breathing down her neck.
This was such a fun read! I love an estranged friends-to-lovers storyline because it always brings that perfect mix of mystery and tension. While I was invested in Nate and Quinn’s relationship, I was even more drawn to Quinn’s personal growth. Even though her trip didn’t go as planned, it still gave her the space to reflect on her choices and actions. Nate was a great listener and incredibly supportive throughout the process. I was really satisfied with how everything wrapped up—both Quinn’s growth and her relationship with Nate felt just right.

I wasn’t a fan of One on One by this author but when I heard the main character was a spin instructor I knew I had to give her new release a try and boy am I glad I did!
When a video goes viral of spin instructor Quinn Ray having a meltdown after a breakup; her boss suggests taking a trip to find herself. So she sets off on a road trip to make it across country in time for her best friends bday party. But what she didn’t account for was her estranged friend and former crush tagging along or all of the epic party hopping that would occur.
There’s nothing better than a road trip story. I love this plot line and the author made this one of the most fun ones yet. It did take me a bit to figure out where this story was going and the messaging it was trying to portray; but once it did I have to give props to the author to how clever she is. I loved the characters, their romance and of course the comedic nature that is this book. While at times a little immature when it came to their communication and reason for their estrangement, overall it’s a fun easy read i recommend

Online cycling instructor Quinn is supposed to be the ray of sunshine. That's what everyone expects. After a bad breakup, she can't seem to keep the ray of sunshine persona up anymore. When she goes on a rant in the middle of a class that turns into a viral moment, she is sent on leave. Quinn takes the opportunity for a break and decides to embarks on a cross-country road trip to visit her best friend.
Quinn's former friend Nate hears that she's going on a road trip, and he asks to tag along on the first leg so he can meet up with another member of their friend group. They meet up with this friend, but he disappears the next day. Now, Quinn and Nate find themselves following the whims of their flighty friend as he appears at all sorts of parties across the US.
Facing pressure from work, newfound fame, and close quarters with the former friend she once confessed feelings for, this road trip will be absolutely life-changing for Quinn and Nate.
I highly recommend this book!

3.5 stars.
I really loved One on One by this author. It was a love letter to basketball but with eyes wide open as to the issues.
This is very different subject matter, although I suppose it does try to also show the other side of a popular thing - Peloton-esque. Unlike with One on One, I struggled to connect deeply with either of these characters. Sometimes a story is characters getting in their own ways and so a two week road trip can be enough to set them on the right path. Other times, the characters are in deep need of therapy and it’s harder to really pull for them in a story. That’s how I ended up feeling about Quinn, especially since we don’t get to see much of her growth at the very end of the book.
It was entertaining to watch her do a road trip from Cali to NC in reverse on the same route my little brother just took to move to LA though!
All this to say, I still enjoyed this and think Harrow is a great author. it was an immersive experience reading this book and I’ll definitely continue to read what she releases.

Following Quinn and Nate across the country as they relive what drove them apart while everything in the present is bringing them together was so entertaining! This story was not all fun though and had an element of coming of age and overcoming family trauma. The conflicts. Quinn and Nate's character arcs both had elements of these themes and it really gave them the opportunity to overcome their issues. I love a romance with conflict that's resolved with character growth and really appreciated that in this story. This was my first Jamie Harrow book and I will definitely be reading One on One after this!
Highly recommend- especially if you love a road trip, friends to lovers or second chance romance. This book had it all!
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group for this ARC!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was so fun! I really love the road trip that Quinn and Nate take. I read this book really fast because it had a great plot, dialogue, and the chemistry was fantastic!

This author is quickly becoming one of my auto-buy favorites. After reading 'One on One' recently, I couldn’t wait to dive into this ARC. Jamie Harrow consistently delivers stories that captivate and excite, making each new release a must-have.

Fun at Parties is an energetic and heartwarming romance that perfectly blends humor, chaos, and emotional depth. Quinn’s road trip, which begins as an escape after a public breakup, turns into an exhilarating journey of self-discovery and rekindled feelings with Nate. Their estranged-friends-to-lovers arc is delightfully awkward and swoon-worthy, with sparks flying as they navigate wild parties and unexpected detours. The vibrant party-hop settings—Vegas nightclubs, Denver rooftop ragers, and music festivals—add a lively backdrop to the story, highlighting the unpredictability of life and love. Jamie Harrow crafts a narrative that’s as entertaining as it is tender, making this novel a feel-good celebration of spontaneity, second chances, and the messy beauty of falling for someone you never quite stopped loving. It’s a joyride of emotions that will leave you smiling.

This was SOOOOOO good. Chasing their past across the country to get to their future could have been an easy miss, but this unfolded in just the right way. I knew how the ending would come together early in the book, but didn't mind because the twists on the way to that happy ending were unexpected but right on the mark.

Cute! Quinn is a cycling instructor at a Peloton-esque company in LA. She’s known for her relentless positivity so when she rants about her recent breakup during a live ride, her boss tells her to take some time off. Quinn decides to use her vacation driving across the country to reconnect with her best friend. Things get complicated when her estranged friend, Nate, asks for a ride to Lake Tahoe. Will they be forced to talk about what happened two years ago along the way?
This was really sweet. The roadtrip plot is engaging, especially when Quinn’s plans go off the rails. Nate is lovely and supportive. Beyond the compelling romance, learning more about Quinn’s background, her financial issues, and her determination to figure her life out was entertaining. I think fans of friends-to-lovers romance and roadtrips will love this. 4.5 stars.
I adored One on One and was thrilled to read the author’s next novel. Can’t wait to read whatever Jamie writes next!
Thank you to Penguin Dutton and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a copy.

I frickin' love Jamie Harrow's writing. It's so seamless and immersive, and she puts her talent to good use in this wild road trip adventure between a pair of coulda-woulda-shoulda-been lovers who look to the past to try to figure out their future.
