I read the previous thriller by Vi Keeland, loved the book very much, and couldn't wait to get my hands on this second one. Someone Knows, published by Atria Books is a pageturner of its finest.
Elizabeth is a college professor. Reading a novel, her past from 20 years ago shows up, threatening her career and her whole future.
I loved The Unraveling, but Someone KNows is even better. The suspense, twists andturns, drama laden action packed, I was guessing till the very last page.
I recommend the book that deserves all the stars.

That last chapter was so uncalled for 😪😪😪😂😂😂
I knew I had to read this book after loving the authors last thriller book and it did not disappoint! Also the cover is gorgeous what a stunning colour!
I loved how this book was formatted into present day POV contrasted by written chapters from a book detailing real life events from the main characters past. This caused her to revisit her past and race to find out exactly who was sending her these chapters and who knew the secrets she’d buried for the last twenty years.
I also loved the contrast between living in the big cory and small town life, and seeing what could cause somebody to want to escape from one extreme to the other.
The parts about the main character being a university professor as her career actually made me consider I’d this would be a job that’s of interest to me so I love that it opened my mind to potential opportunities.
I can’t wait for the authors next thriller genre I love how she always includes a splash of spicy scenes in her thrillers.
Thank you to Atria Books and Vi Keeland for the earc!

This book is kept me guessing until the very end. The story is full of unexpected twists, making it impossible to put down. Beyond the suspense, the book touches on sensitive topics that offer deep insight into what the main character has endured, adding layers of emotion and complexity to the mystery. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the story surprised me again. The ending was completely unexpected and left me wanting more.

Thank you, #Partner @atriabooks, @netgalley, and #emilybestlerbooks for my #gifted (free) copy. Pub date 6/17/25.
#Vikeeland may be a romance writer, but she sure knows how to write an excellent thriller with a little spice. I loved her previous thriller, "The Unraveling," and I was so excited to get this one early, and it did not disappoint. This one is definitely a nail- biter, and I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. Just a warning this book is a little disturbing at times, so check the trigger warnings. Any thriller that Vi writes, I will for sure be reading!
May 20th is the day Elizabeth will never forget. It's the day she killed her best friends abuser when they were teenagers. Elizabeth is now a college professor, and when one of her students in her creative writing class turns in their writing assignment, Elizabeth is shocked. It's about a chapter of her best friends life to a T. As she keeps getting emails of new chapters, Elizabeth knows exactly how the story will end, but it's impossible that anyone else knows the story, or is it?

This was my second Vi Keeland book. I’ve only read her thrillers and thoroughly enjoyed them both.
“Someone Knows” was interesting and had me flying through the pages in a frantic search for answers. When I read the last chapter my jaw dropped. Everything came together well and I can’t wait to read future thrillers by this author.

This was my first book by Vi Keeland but it definitely won’t be my last! It kept me enthralled from beginning to end.

Well hold on right there Ms. Keeland!!!! I want more thrillers from you ASAP !
I have enjoyed Vi Keeland’s romance books in the past, the banter has always been fun and entertaining. But this thriller was definitely not expected and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Not only did she managed to end the story with a nice twist, but also had me in an emotional chokehold there for a moment. Nice work!!

When I saw Vi Keeland wrote a thriller I knew I had to read it. When I saw she wrote a second and I was lucky enough to read it early I dropped what I was doing and read it in practically one sitting.
Elizabeth is a college professor in New York City. She is teaching a writing seminar when she reads a chapter from a student that seems way too familiar to be a coincidence. As more chapters come in it becomes clear someone knows what happened 20 years ago. Elizabeth goes back to her small hometown in Louisiana to find out who can be sending these chapters and who knows what happened all those years ago.
The book was a fast read with some twists I did not see coming. Some were more predictable than others. I enjoyed the overall plot and it was fun to follow along and learn things as she did. My only problem was some details were added that I felt didn't go anywhere. Maybe it was to put suspicion on other people. The thing is they were not wrapped out at the end. They were small details but I wish we would have either not learned about them or had them explained. I won't give an example because it would spoil the book but after reading the ending I feel like if it was happening to me I would have done one research that made it clear what could have happened. Until the very end I had a higher rating in mind. Other than that I really enjoyed the book and would read another one of her thrillers if she comes out with more!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this opportunity to read this book early in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this ARC.
Someone Knows was an interesting and quick read. Rating it 3.5 (rounded down due to NG not having .5 ratings) because I feel as if there was a bit too much going on and there were some plot holes that were not wrapped up by the end of the book. The storyline in itself was promising and I enjoyed it. The MC was kind of insufferable lol but understandably she had a lot going on. Also the timeline throughout the book was slightly confusing. Overall I did enjoy this book and am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

My second time reading Vi Keeland was definitely a good experience! Someone Knows was a very well written book. I did struggle with some of the characters, especially Noah. I couldn’t stand his “darlin” nicknames for the female characters in the book. Elizabeth grew on me as her character developed throughout the book, as did her mother. The twists in this book were good. I liked that they were sprinkled throughout the story rather than all at once at the end. The ending was very satisfying, and the final chapter left a nice little shock factor for the reader. I would definitely recommend this book to other readers and will continue to keep my eyes open for further titles from this author..
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Vi Keeland steps away from her usual romance and dives into the world of psychological thrillers with Someone Knows — and the result is an absolute page-turner. This book is a perfect mix of suspense, secrets, and just enough romance to keep things sizzling. Elizabeth, a respected college English professor, is used to the excitement of new semesters and fresh stories — until one particular submission lands on her desk. The Reckoning isn’t just a piece of fiction; it’s a mirror of Elizabeth’s dark past — a past she’s tried desperately to forget. The story tells of a high school girl’s affair with her teacher and ends with the teacher’s murder. The problem? Elizabeth knows the story all too well because she was there… and she’s the one who killed him. As more chapters arrive, Elizabeth becomes increasingly terrified. Someone knows what she did 20 years ago — and they’re getting closer to revealing the truth. Desperate for answers, she returns to her hometown in Louisiana, only to find that the past isn’t finished with her yet.

1 Gripping Premise: From the very first chapter, the mystery grabs hold and doesn’t let go. The idea of a story-within-a-story, revealing real-life secrets, is absolutely brilliant.
2 Complex, Flawed Protagonist: Elizabeth is smart, strong, and haunted by guilt — and her fear is palpable. You’ll root for her even when you’re questioning her choices.
3 Atmospheric and Tense: The return to Elizabeth’s Louisiana hometown adds a layer of eerie nostalgia and danger. The tension builds with every chapter as old secrets start to surface.
4 A Perfect Balance of Suspense and Emotion: While the thriller elements take center stage, the book also explores friendship, regret, and how far people will go to protect themselves.

Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for giving me an advance copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this eARC!!
This book had me in suspense right up to the very last chapter. I appreciated how it shifted seamlessly between memories and the present day. I would definitely be interested in reading more from this author!

good mystery of a English professor who gets a story of what happened on one night 20 years ago. slight romance and trying to solve the mystery of the emails and meeting the son of a teacher. good book.

WOWZA....
My go-to genre is romance. I have been dipping my toes into mystery/thrillers with Freida so I thought I would shake it up and check out Vi's newest thriller "Someone Knows."
HOLY ENDING! I have to start there....of course the book was a total mind#$% but that ending, NEVER SAW IT COMING! I literally pride myself on knowing endings of shows, movies, books, etc before they happen. Originality of stories is just so hard nowadays. But what Vi was able to do with this story, I just can't put into words.
Needless to say, this is a must read for anyone who loves a thriller. Bonus is that some of the "naughty" scenes were a great reminder of why Vi Keeland is such an amazing romance author too! I encourage you to read Liz's story and meet the cast of characters...Sam, Noah, Lucas, Ivy and all the screwed up parents.
Thank you to Vi and Net Galley for an ARC copy for an honest review.

Whoa! This book was amazing and very well written! The author had put a lot of thought, effort and time into writing this! It had me confused throughout the book, but in a really good and suspenseful way. I thought I knew everything, then realized I knew nothing. The details in this book are remarkable. Not only was this book full of suspense, it had crazy sexual encounters as well. It was disturbing, dark and eerie. It made me feel sick to my stomach at times. It had me feeling overwhelmingly anxious and full of fear at times. I really felt like I was feeling the same emotions as the woman telling her story. WOW, just wow!
Someone Knows is about a woman named Elizabeth, who is an English college professor living in New York. One of her anonymous students sends in their assignment. This assignment is the beginning of a story. When she begins reading it, this story sounded very familiar and was convinced it was about her childhood friend. As Elizabeth starts reading more and more of the story, she realizes it is about her childhood friend. Elizabeth has been hiding secrets and she’s not the only one from her hometown hiding secrets as well. She is on a mission to finding out who is writing this story and stops at nothing to figure it out. She even goes to her hometown, back in Louisiana. While she’s in her hometown, everyone is a suspect. She never ruled out a suspect perhaps living in New York, but this anonymous writer knew too much and assumed they had to have been from Louisiana. Elizabeth knows how this story ends, but who else knows? Who is this anonymous writer and why are they writing her this story?
This story contains trigger warnings. These trigger warnings include child abuse, murder, grief, explicit sexual content, violence and death. It may be disturbing to some readers.
This book takes you on an adventure on finding out things that you will never even think of! I give this book a high 5 out of 5 stars rating! Thank you so much to NetGalley, author Vi Keeland and Atria books for this advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and feedback. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria/Emily Bestler Publishing for the ARC!
For me, this was a underwhelming to see the least. It felt uneven and there was never any jaw dropping moments.
I was really looking forward to Vi Keeland thriller after reading all her romance books but this did not stack up to other thrillers I have read recently.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.
Someone Knows by Vi Keeland is an engaging and suspenseful thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The story revolves around secrets, lies, and unexpected twists, as the characters are caught in a web of mystery and deceit. Vi Keeland does an excellent job of building tension and intrigue, making it hard to put the book down. The emotional depth of the characters adds layers to the plot, making it not just a thriller but also a story about personal struggles and growth. Overall, Someone Knows is a gripping and thrilling read, perfect for fans of suspense and mystery.

WOW okay - Vi Keeland slayed this! Highly recommend checking this out once it’s published in July! Vi Keeland is dipping her toes into thriller and think she did great.
What would you do if a shocking secret about your dead teacher surfaced 20 years later? When Elizabeth, an English professor, reads a student’s novel about a past affair between a teacher and student she instantly recognizes the story since it’s about her best friend…. And she knows how it ends.
There were some predictable moments and right when I thought I had it figured out - the ending had my jaw DROPPED. I wish there was more clarity with the ending, but I get why it was left open-ended.
Thanks, NetGalley & Atria Books, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Someone Knows
by Vi Keeland
If I could give this book more than 5⭐️’s, I would!
Vi Keeland is quickly becoming my favorite suspense/thriller author.
In her creative writing class, professor Elizabeth receives a students assignment that sounds all too familiar to what occurred 20 years ago when she killed a man. She returns home to Louisiana to visit her mom and try to uncover who the anonymous sender is.
This book kept me guessing until the end and took just a couple days to finish.

So good, so worth the read! I knew I was going to like it because of Vi Keeland's writing but I wasn't sure how much as I had only read her romance books. This was all the drama I wanted,
