This book was a wild ride! It was twisty, fast paced, and kept me hooked from start to finish. The mix of suspense, secrets, and a little steam made it hard to put down. If you love thrillers with plenty of drama and shocking reveals, this one is worth picking up!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Vi Keeland foe the chance to read this e-ARC

This book will keep you UP.
It's everything you want in a mystery/thriller and that ending was not what I was expecting

Ahh! Mrs. Vi can do wrong when it comes to twisty, sexy, thrillers that keep you guessing. Someone Knows is no exception. New Auto-buy author for me! This is so good! The characters, background story, and continuous plot twists, were so fun! 4 stars- all day!
Thank you to Atria Books & Vi Keeland for this eARC for my unbiased opinion and review. I'd read Vi Keelands grocery list at this point ;)

Someone Knows by Vi Keeland is a fast paced and addictive thriller that had me hooked from the first page. The story follows Elizabeth, a college English professor whose past comes back to haunt her when a student starts submitting chapters of a novel that sound way too familiar. This book is a perfect mix of suspense and drama. Elizabeth is a complex character, and I loved how the tension built as she was forced to return to her hometown to uncover who was behind the mysterious manuscript. The twists kept coming, and while I had a few theories, the ending still surprised me. If you love thrillers with a bit of spice and plenty of secrets, this one is definitely worth the read!

Elizabeth, a college English professor, is shocked when a student's manuscript recounts a decades old affair between a high school student and her teacher—because she knows the story firsthand. The girl in the book was her best friend, and Elizabeth was the one who killed the teacher to protect her. As she races to uncover who is threatening to expose her past, she returns to her Louisiana hometown, only to realize that some secrets refuse to stay buried.
This book was a wild ride! It was twisty, fast paced, and kept me hooked from start to finish. The mix of suspense, secrets, and a little steam made it hard to put down. If you love thrillers with plenty of drama and shocking reveals, this one is worth picking up!

Elizabeth leads a quiet, independent life as a college English professor—she has no interest in serious relationships and enjoys the freedom of solitude. But when she receives an anonymous creative writing submission, her world tilts.
The manuscript, titled The Reckoning, tells the story of a high school senior who has an affair with her teacher. To anyone else, it’s the beginning of a compelling page-turner. But to Elizabeth, it’s something far more chilling—because she knows how the story ends. The girl in the manuscript was her best friend Jocelyn, and the teacher? He’s dead.
Now, after twenty years of burying her past, someone knows what she did—and they’re revealing the truth, one chapter at a time. Desperate to uncover the identity of the mystery student behind the manuscript, Elizabeth is forced to return to her hometown in Louisiana. But the closer she gets to the truth, the more it becomes clear that the past isn’t done with her yet.
This book shocked me at every turn—I gasped aloud at the twists and did not see ANY of them coming. A dark, addictive psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last page.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an ARC of Someone Knows.
The Unraveling was in my top 3 books out of 100 last year, so when I was invited to read Vi Keeland's newest thriller I SMASHED the accept button!
The Good: I loved the pacing of the story and that there never seemed to be a dull moment. I also loved the way the chapters to the mysterious story she received were worked into the present story to fill in the past timeline a little at a time.
The Bad: As a romance author by trade, I expected some smutty scenes (and they worked SO well in her previous book) but they ended up feeling forced and honestly sort of cringe here. If I never read the words "steely erection" again I won't be sad.
The Ugly: The ending was probably the biggest let down for me as it was incredibly predictable and left several main character plot lines unfinished.
While this wasn't a bad book by any means, I'm a bit devastated I can't give it a gushing review like I did for her debut thriller.
3.5 stars

Such a brilliant book! Definitely left me questioning the end though, I won’t put my questions so I don’t spoil it but man was this book sooo good! Put it in my top favorites! So many twists and turns and made me so anxious! This is the first book I have read by this author so i definitely plan to read more now!

This is a fast read with a lot of twists, some predictable and some less so. It didn't grab me as much as I wanted and for me, there was too much romance/bad relationships included in the storyline. So for me, it was overall just an ok read, escapist and I won't remember it, which is unfortunatel

Elizabeth is an English professor in her late 30's. A student electronically submits a chapter for an assignment and it turns out to be basically a retelling of her past and the one thing she hoped to forget. She sets off to try and figure out who is writing the chapters and who knows about the worst thing she's ever done.
Someone Knows could be summed up in one word for me and that word would be "Whaaaaaaat????" This was fast paced and one of the more twisty books I've read recently. I have gotten pretty good with my predictions but I was way off here. This is one of those that you need to make sure you have plenty of time because once you pick it up, you won't want to put it down. My only real complaint is that the ending felt a bit rushed and I definitely had some questions!!
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Someone definitely knew but it wasn’t me!
Vi Keeland’s sophomore thriller weaves a tale that is beyond my words. Fascinating, engrossing, enthralling, gripping, riveting, mesmerizing, captivating, bewitching, enchanting and spellbinding are all applicable but it’s too hard to settle on just one. Our protagonist, Elizabeth, unravels this sordid tale with the help of Hannah’s novel that gives us glimpses into the past. Poor Elizabeth has been failed by so many people and is broken and damaged because of it. I wanted to give Elizabeth a hug so bad. You can’t help but like her and root for her as the story unfolds. My allegiance and suspicions of the supporting characters shifts like the sand throughout the story as I attempt to suss out the antagonist. The setting is described in such a way that it is easy to visualize but not so overly detailed as to bog the story down. Scenes played like a movie in my head all the way from Pace University in New York to Minton Parish, Louisiana with Elizabeth’s childhood home, the church, the high school, Memory Haven Motel and room 212, and Liars Pub. This well written story is fast paced and filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing as you fly through the pages to find out what happens next. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I didn’t. That last chapter is a doozy that left my mouth agape. I enjoyed my time between the pages of this twisted tale and think this story will satisfy discerning thriller lovers everywhere.

As soon as I read the email for an invitation to read Keeland’s next thriller, I immediately downloaded it! I was a big fan of The Unraveling and couldn’t wait to see what she had in store for us next!
Elizabeth is a thirty-seven year old English professor. She’s single, no kids and as far as her dating life…. She’s a free spirit who is living out her desires. In other words, she doesn’t want to be tied down.
A student emails her writing assignment to Elizabeth. As the professor is reading the story, she realizes the story is nothing of fiction. She knows this story and has spent her whole life trying to forget it. Suddenly, her whole world is about to come crashing down.
If you haven’t read her work before, the author is famous for her romance/smut novels. She has a huge following on Instagram. People love her. I, on the other hand do not like romance involved with my murders…. But Vi Keeland hooks the reader so hard that I am willing to skim the 💦 scenes lol.
The ending was quick and left me with some questions. However, I still enjoyed the journey. Highly recommend giving this author a go!

Holy Crap, I devoured this book in a day! I thought I had this book figured out about 1/2 way through but boy was I wrong! Elizabeth is a college professor whos past comes back to haunt her and takes her back to her small hometown to try to figure it all out. Lots of interesting characters, twists and turns. A must read!

Check trigger warnings before starting!
If you, like me, are reading for a fun time and ~enjoying the vibes~ this book is for you! We’ve got an unreliable narrator, a big secret, lots of red herrings, and I thought the first major reveal was SO GOOD. The ending had two key moments - one with her mom (loved) and one with another character (meh) - I do wish we had gotten more resolution from that meh moment with the other character. Single afternoon read!

What a twisty, but even more so, twisted ride this was!
If you decide to check this one out, buckle up your seatbelt, because you’re gonna need it.
3.5 stars and still as I sit here to write my review, I’m on the fence about whether I should round up or down. I’ll do my best to share the good, the bad and the ugly without spoilers.
This book pulled me in right away and kept me intrigued the whole time. About halfway through, there is a fantastic twist that for me, could’ve/would’ve made this a 5 star read, but I feel like it deserved more exploration than it got. It almost felt like it was forgotten as we continued to search for answers in this mystery.
Vi Keeland is a romance book author and since that’s not my thing, her venture into the mystery/thriller genre was my first time reading something by her. She did manage to make this suspenseful and twisty, but the romance/sex scenes still found their way in, and those paired with my inability to connect with our MC’s choices and actions, is what made this more twisted than twisty for me. But don’t worry, there are still enough twists in this to qualify it as a bonafide mystery/thriller. Unfortunately, the twists in the second half of the book felt a bit rushed to me and the ending left me sort of hanging. I had the answers, but I wanted more reasoning/explanation, I guess.
Overall, this was a good, quick read and because of that, I’m going to round up to 4 stars.
With thanks to Atria Books and Vi Keeland on NetGalley for the opportunity to preview this book before the publication date for review.

Well, as a longtime fan of Vi Keeland’s romances (both her standalones and collaborations with Penelope Ward) and her recent thriller Unraveling, I was eager to dive into this one—so much so that I requested it without even reading the blurb.
The story follows Elizabeth, a mid-forties English professor who has spent years keeping men at arm’s length, focusing on her career, and distancing herself from the traumatic events of her youth in Louisiana. But when a student submits a story containing eerily specific details about a murder she committed two decades ago to protect her best friend Jocelyn from their abusive English teacher, Mr. Sawyer, Elizabeth realizes her past is catching up with her. Forced to return to her hometown, she must confront the ghosts of her past: Jocelyn, who has been missing for years; Ivy, her former best friend turned suburban mother; and her own alcoholic mother, whose neglect shaped her childhood.
Complicating matters further is Noah—a charismatic man ten years her junior who immediately draws her in. The problem? He’s the son of the very man she killed all those years ago. As Elizabeth scrambles to uncover who is taunting her with novel chapters based on her darkest secret, she also struggles to resist her dangerous attraction to Noah, knowing it could lead her down a path she may not survive.
This psychological thriller is fast-paced and addictive, though not without its flaws. Some twists are predictable, including the identity of the person tormenting Elizabeth, and the romance—particularly her involvement with Noah—teeters between steamy and unsettling. The book leans more toward romantic suspense than a pure mystery thriller, with multiple male characters vying for Elizabeth’s attention, and even dips into erotic thriller territory with its darker themes. That said, the final twist, while not quite on par with a jaw-dropping Freida McFadden-style ending, was still satisfying and cleverly executed.
Despite its predictability, Unraveling delivers an engaging, binge-worthy read filled with intrigue, suspense, and morally complex characters. It’s the kind of book you devour in one sitting, and for that alone, I’m rounding up my 3.5 stars to a solid 4. A perfect choice for fans of fast-paced, compulsive thrillers with a touch of romance!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books/Emily Bestler Books for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Someone Knows by Vi Keeland is a fast-paced, captivating thriller that immediately grabs your attention. The story centers around a professor who’s hiding a decades-old secret, only to discover that someone knows about it and is taunting her with their knowledge while keeping their identity a mystery. From the start, the narrative pulls you in, and Keeland’s writing style is fluid and engaging.
The subject matter is dark and intense, and it’s crucial to check the trigger warnings before diving in, as some of the content may be triggering to certain readers.
As for the mystery element, I did find myself predicting a lot of the plot twists very early on, but Keeland does a good job of throwing in some red herrings. That said, the red herrings were ultimately a bit underdeveloped and left some unanswered questions hanging. It felt like they were just thrown into the story as a distraction (as is the definition of a red herring!) But still, it felt like there wasn’t much substance behind them instead of using them as integral plot points.
I think that the ending was the real make or break for me. And unfortunately, without giving anything away, I’ll say that it felt unnecessarily cruel and left a bad taste in my mouth. I expected a more satisfying resolution, and instead, the conclusion felt unnecessary and unsatisfying, which detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book.
In the end, Someone Knows is undeniably compulsively readable and kept me hooked throughout, but it almost feels like we only got the bare bones of the story. Despite its flaws, it’s still an enjoyable read for thriller fans, though not without its issues.

I will say, the first twist did surprise me. It would’ve been better a bit earlier as the book dragged for me until then. I almost wish we found out she was writing the chapters herself to really push the multiple personality story. The ending was a little unsatisfactory, but overall this was solid.

May 20th…a date that will never be forgotten. English Professor Elizabeth Davis has a secret from her past that she wants to stay there however, after reading a new student’s submission she realizes someone might just know what happened all those years ago. It’s to similar to be a coincidence…right? I won’t say anymore as you need to read this yourself and find out. This thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat! Mystery and suspense take center stage in this cleverly crafted thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. Mic Drop! What a brilliantly crafted story and a top read of 2025!! Just pure perfection. Please check any TW as this does delve into a very difficult topic. Told in first person and Elizabeth’s POV.

Started off promising, but the more I read, the more frustrating it became. The mc was insufferable, the writing didn’t work for me, and the mystery aspect was kinda predictable. Skimmed most of it just to get through. Not for me.
