This book was SO good! It kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
My Husband's Mistress is a fun, fast-paced, and chilling thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. Willow Rose delivers a masterful blend of suspense, mystery, and drama that fans of the genre will love.

"Her Husband's Mistress” is a gripping detective mystery that plunges readers into a tangled web of deceit, lies and hidden agendas. The novel follows Detective Darcy White, who finds herself embroiled in a case that is as personal as it is complex. When a man is murdered—found by his wife, Charlotte, with blood on her hands—Darcy knows the investigation should be handed off to another Detective, especially given that she knows of Charlotte's affair with own husband. Yet, when Charlotte shifts the blame onto Darcy’s husband Bradley, Darcy simply can’t walk away.
One of the most compelling aspects of the book is its dual narrative structure. Alternating chapters from Darcy and Charlotte's perspectives not only enrich the storytelling but also keep readers guessing. This clever narrative device allows the author to peel back layers of deception, as both protagonists harbor secrets and hidden agendas that gradually come to light. Although none of the characters are particularly likeable, their flaws and moral ambiguities make them intriguingly human and add to the overall plot.
The pacing is somewhat mixed. The first half of the novel sometimes meanders, laying a slow-burning foundation that builds suspense. However, once the story gains momentum midway through, the final chapters accelerate into a true rollercoaster of twists and rapid-fire revelations, culminating in a solid and satisfying resolution.
For fans of "whodunit" mysteries, "Her Husband's Mistress" offers a richly layered narrative filled with betrayal, deception, and a cascade of unforeseen plot twists. Despite occasional pacing issues, it is a highly recommended read for anyone who enjoys a challenging mystery that forces you to question what you think you know until the very end.

Cleverly crafted.
A conniving partner.
But who is telling the truth.
One character seems too, helpful and eager to share but I allowed myself to get sidetracked by other culprit possibilities that Rose threw my way.
It’s a twisted story where it’s good to remember things are not always what they seem.

This was a g0od book with several big surprises. While reading and trying to figure out who murdered the mistress's husband, I was sure I knew. Nope, my mind changed on the guilty party at least 6 times! How could this guy be cheating on his wife, he seemed like such a perfect husband and dad. I went back and forth between liking and disliking the women several times. I enjoyed the book and the ending was a great twist.

I've read a few books by this author now and have been totally obsessed with them all so far!
I spotted the author name on this and grabbed it so fast!
My previous reads have all been parts of series' but this book is a standalone read, so something a little different for me.
Well, I can confirm that I'm just as obsessed with this one!
The characters were brilliantly introduced and developed over the course of the book and even right to the end, I still had no clue who or what to believe!
The reveal still came as a shock to me and I just thought the whole case was really cleverly worked.
I actually can't really say too much about the plot though, because there will definitely be some spoilers in there - but I found that the dual pov chapters really messed with my theory making!
The story follows Darcy investigating the death of a wealthy man and his wife is under suspicion.
Most of the focus is from Darcy's pov, but we soon start hearing from the suspect and this is when things start getting twisted.
Rose has such a way of writing - the settings, the characters and the plotlines are just so precisely mapped out that I just cannot help but become immersed in the whole thing and I honestly struggled to put this down.
I had a few books on the go at this time, but I couldn't stop thinking about this one and kept gravitating back to it.
I definitely need to make more time to check out more books by this author - but with such an impressive backlist, it will take some time!
If you've not read this author before then I'd definitely recommend this as a starting point - it was amazing!
💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

My first read by Willow Rose and wow what a debut psychological thriller from her. Another author to add to my favourites list! A very well deserved 5 stars from me!
Senior Detective Darcy White has spent years building up her reputation and career, so she is pleased to finally take the role of Lead Detective in a murder case that she is called to. However, her professionalism is soon tested when she finds the main suspect is the woman that she found her husband, Bradley, cheating with a year earlier, Charlotte Kane. Edward Kane, Charlotte’s wealthy older husband is the victim of the awful crime. Bradley had promised Darcey that the affair was over but without Charlotte knowing who she is talking to she tells Darcey that the affair has and is still going on. Darcey knows its unprofessional, but she can’t help hiding who she is and carrying on investigating the case despite the huge conflict of interest. Darcey swings between hate for Charlotte but then compassion as she gets to know her and finds out how badly Edward treated her, all the while maintaining the perfect home façade with Bradley and their children. However, the further the investigation into who killed Edward progresses the more likely everyone’s secrets will be discovered and blow everyone’s lives well and truly open. Will Darcey manage to maintain her professionalism and find the killer or will her personal interest in the case cost her not only her career but also the curated happy family life she has so strived to perfect?!
Well, what a story!!!! This book drew me in very rapidly and I was soon hating when I had to put it down to do other things. I loved the dual POV and I also loved not knowing whether either character was a trustworthy narrator. I found myself thinking about this book when not reading it, which is, for me, always a great sign of a good book. I absolutely despised Bradley right from page one and what great writing from Willow Rose to elicit such a response from me about a fictional character, it’s been a long while since I hated a character as much as I hated him! Despite this book having quite a dark storyline I did find myself laughing out loud at the Zumba….I will say no more as this is a spoiler free review but it did really make me laugh. I did have some idea as to what might be happening as I read, but the twist in chapter 22 did still catch me out (which was great). I would say I figured out one of the two main twists, but this definitely didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book, and I feel I could have figured one out just because I am a seasoned psychological thriller reader rather than the twist being an obvious one.
Overall, I really enjoyed the cat and mouse game that was played throughout the book, I thought the writing was very clever, very addictive and also very current. I would wholeheartedly recommend this one to anyone who enjoys the psychological thriller genre, and I really really hope that Willow Rose writes another psychological thriller as this one was just so good! Totally and utterly deserved 5 stars!
Thank you to NetGalley, Willow Rose and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out 28th March 2025.

When Edward is found dead in a pool of blood in his mansion, the finger is instantly pointed at the wife seeing as she has no alibi, but is she honestly the guilty party in what is a curious situation?
When Detective Darcey White starts interviewing the wife, she realises that she recognises her, but who is she? She is the prime suspect and Darcey White is venturing into uncharted territory.
All is not a ‘‘bed of roses’ for Darcey at home with her husband Bradley, the Lawyer who plays happy families but it’s all an act.
The truth will reveal itself and you will be surprised…

Willow Rose is one of my go to authors and I’ve really enjoyed previous reads but this one just wasn’t for me. Told from the points of view of the main characters Darcey and Charlotte. I found it to be an overly descriptive, dragged out plot with not much happening to the point I was fed up. I found the characters not overly likeable and if anything they got on my nerves. The police investigation was really unbelievable and just didn’t work. It got going somewhat for the last 1/4 of the read but it was underwhelming. Unfortunately not my favourite of this author.
2.5/5 🌟🌟/🌟
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review #MyHusbandsMistress

Detective Darcey White's husband is cheating on her. The woman he is seeing husband has been murdered. Darcey is investigating this murder. Full of lies and twists in this good thriller. Good characters and well plotted, a bit predictable but a very good read. Thanks to Bookoutre and Netgalley for this review ARC.

“Sometimes, I think now, the realization chilling me to the bone, the most dangerous lies are the ones we tell ourselves.”
Overall, this was just an ok read. Given the title, I knew it was going to a pretty predictable domestic thriller and it absolutely was. It was an easy read—you didn’t need to pay attention too hard but it also wasn’t anything that really surprised me. I’ve read a decent amount of Willow’s reads and they can be kind of hit or miss for me. This wasn’t my favorite but it was still a solid read; it’s something I would recommend to someone who is trying to get into/back into reading.
Big thanks to NetGalley for the early copy ◡̈

Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
My Husband’s Mistress is a mystery and detective tale.
It’s fair and middling.
Darcey’s husband, Bradley is having an affair with Charlotte.
Then Charlotte’s husband, Edward is found dead.
The detective put on the investigation is Darcey.
As the case starts to unfold, secrets, lies and deception are uncovered.
Who is telling the truth….
It’s a slow burn, predictable and there’s a couple of plot flaws.
The police inquiry was unbelievable.
The main character of Darcey makes dumb decisions and at times I thought she was an idiot.
The twist was a bit anticlimactic.
An ok read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this quick paced domestic thriller. It was told in multiple POV being the detective Darcy and her husbands Mistress, Charlotte. Charlottes husband is dead and she claims Bradly, Darcy’s husband is guilty. This creates a conflict of interest but charlotte has no idea who Darcy truly is.
I found the plot twist to be unexpected and ending was great!

after a blip of changes on netgalley digital copy, I finally able to read this book.
I find the book is fast pace, yet engaging story telling. It's difficult to put down!
The book is told from dual POV of detective Darcy and Charlotte the mistress. I am on the edge of my seat when I'm reading this as willow rose really took me into a journey of lies, deception and seeking justice until the final revelation. the author is really good on waving multiple perspectives and timelines, adding depth of narrative while maintaining an element of mystery throughout.
I'd recommend this book for fans of suspense and thrillers. if you like to read Alice Feeny or Gillian Flynn works, I think you will also enjoy her writings! will pickup the audiobook ARC too!

So often you see the detective kicked off cases when they are too involved. At which stage they have to work it another way or sit frustrated on the outside. But this, this book our detective is on the case. And manages to stay on it. And she needs to because the woman in cuffs for the.murder of her husbands needs to answer to our detective. Becuase this woman in cuffs is having an affair with our detectives husband. Dun dun duuuuun...
I really enjoyed the premise of this book. I was constantly trying to figure out the ending or twisty bits. Trying to figure out who was innocent as it never quite seemed what it seemed lol.
A good thriller with an great and original plot with some Intriguing characters

"My Husband’s Mistress" by Willow Rose is a slow moving 4-star read! There are two husbands and two wives—one is a police detective assigned to solve the murder, one is a mistress accused of the crime, one is a cheating husband, and one is the victim.
This is a slow burn, with the author’s writing being extremely detailed and, at times, overly wordy. The beginning was the toughest part, and I almost stopped reading, but I’m glad I stuck with it. While the story doesn’t have much action, it is well-executed, and I enjoyed the twists along the way. The final twist truly saved the book for me—I did not see that coming!
This was my first read by Willow Rose, but I plan to give her another chance. Now, I just need to decide which of her series to try next!
Thanks to Bookouture, Willow Rose, and NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.

Wow! Willow Rose is a masterful writer and once again, she made me question everything I read, kept me hooked throughout and hit me with an ending that blew my mind!
This is told from the POVs of Darcy and Charlotte. Darcy is the detective investigating the murder of Charlotte's husband, a crime in which she is the main suspect. When the two women meet in the interview room at the police station, Darcy is shocked. She recognises Charlotte as the woman her own husband is having an affair with. Darcy knows that if anyone discovers this link, she will be taken off the case.
This fast-paced plot is packed with twists, lies and betrayals. Two unreliable yet highly convincing narrators kept me guessing and every time I thought I had them sussed, they threw me an unexpected curveball. Absolutely brilliant!
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Willow Rose and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This book was largely promising as you get into the dark secrets of the cheated wife (who is also a police officer) confronted to her enemy directly in the midst of the investigation of the murder of her enemy's husband. It started really well until the point where I figured out where it was going, but maybe that's just because I read too much thrillers. Otherwise it was a pleasant book with some nice twists and I would recommend it!

The beginning of My Husband's Mistress has a slow start, and took what felt like forever to build up, and also seemed to parallel The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose but in a reverse way...
Darcey White knowing and working to investigate the death of Charlotte's husband (Charlotte being her her husband's mistress) seemed unbelievable and should have left her immediately off the case... She had to find out of course who killed him? The Mistress? Or her own husband? There was good depth, and was really good and stayed that way once you reached about 1/4 of the way through the book but was a bit of a head scratcher about the legality of it all. But I will say I was shocked at the ending and I kept reading, I finished it in 7 hrs after trudging through the beginning.

Detective Darcey White is called to investigate a brutal murder and quickly realizes the case hits far too close to home—the victim is her husband’s mistress’s husband. As the case unfolds, suspicion starts turning toward her, and with her career and freedom on the line, she must race to uncover the truth. But in a world where betrayal runs deep, the truth might be more than anyone ever imagined.
This book had me hooked from start to finish! The plot was super intriguing, and I loved the detective vibes—Willow Rose knows how to write a suspenseful thriller. With over 70 books under her belt, it’s no surprise she kept me anxiously flipping pages, desperate to see how Darcey would redeem herself. The twist was satisfying, and I flew through the book in about 5.5 hours because I had to know the ending! A solid, decently paced read that kept me engaged. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.75 rounded up!)

Detective Darcey White has a problem - her husband is cheating on her. It's hard for her to decide what to do about that problem. Divorce? Keep drinking too much? Pretend it didn't happen? All she knows is when her husband's mistress is accused of killing her husband, Darcey ignores the sensible path and stays on the case. What will she find? Is the mistress guilty or is her own husband guilty? Maybe it's someone else entirely?
Good book, I was interested in the characters, their actions, and the outcome. I did want Darcey to be a little more sensible, but that added to the plot and the twist. Enjoyable read.
