I’m becoming a huge fan of F1 romances, honestly. I relate to Natalia a lot and loved her character development throughout the book. Klaus’s journey through grieving his wife’s death and doing his best to be a good enough Principal to the team was well written and portrayed very nicely. I wish there was more of a build up between the two characters. I feel like the story started off very strong in the beginning, but I didn’t get any sort of tension or “enemies” elements whatsoever. Overall the story was sweet.

So I was asked to read this from a friend and it was “read now” on NetGalley so I gave it a go, going in blind. All I was told was that it was a sequel but it can be read as a standalone. Well I should have researched further… Especially because I love the imprint and have never been steered wrong by one of their books.. until now.
The prose is not fluid at all which makes it hard to read. On top of that the characters are particularly likable. On the positive it can be read as a standalone as its connection is through the FMC Natalia being “best friends” with the FMC Phaedra from the first book, putting Phaedra into the passenger seat as a supporting cheater. Well if this was real life, and yes I realize it’s fiction, I would be seriously counseling Natalia on the toxic friendships she has in her life. So while it’s fiction my preference is when bad behavior is called out and not left there to be influential to readers. But that’s my opinion.
On the positive it is very fast paced. It has some spice (that I don’t enjoy as the FMC and MMC don’t even seem to like each other) so maybe if you’re a big racing fan looking for some spice to read very quickly as a filler book, maybe this will be your cup of tea.
Lastly, I usually don’t put trigger warnings as I don’t have any personally but if infertility is triggering, this may not be the book for you.
I am thankful to have gotten the ARC for free from Forever Pub through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.
My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars
⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

My goodness, I loved this book! The MCs have sooo many speed bumps on their way to being together (driving pun not intentional), but that all just makes their relationship that much stronger. And it is all so satisfying. Thanks to Forever for the ARC.

Good F1 romance. But I would say if you have any fertility issues, this book could seriously trigger. Those aren’t issues for me, but the way it played out even gave me pause. It’s not handled insensitively per se, but just be warned. Otherwise, cute banter.

I really wanted to love this one because I love the publisher, love the tropes and had heard pretty awesome things about it, but unfortunately, it was a miss for me. I spent half the time I was reading trying to determine if the FMC and her best friend even liked each other. My best friend and I make teasing remarks and get irritated with one another, sure, but I've never once felt like she was trying to "make me feel stupid in the way that came naturally to her" nor that she was jealous of me. It says that they have an "old married couple vibe" where they "make each other the bad guy" and perhaps I'm too single, but that doesn't sound like how a marriage should operate either. Additionally, I felt very "told" about the MCs sexual chemistry instead of experiencing it myself. Their initial meeting left much to be desired and we didn't even get to read the scene where he finds out who she is in relation to their jobs, it's just sort of glossed over in passing.
I haven't posted my review publicly at this time since it's negative and the book hasn't been released yet.

"Coming in Hot" by Josie Juniper is a fun, steamy read with a quirky storyline that keeps things light and entertaining. The characters are likable, and the romance has some fun chemistry, though I felt like the plot could've been a bit more developed. The pacing is quick, which works for the kind of book it is, but at times it felt a little predictable. Still, if you're looking for a breezy, enjoyable escape, this book delivers on that front. Overall, it's a good pick if you're in the mood for a light romance, but it doesn't stand out as anything groundbreaking.

Coming In Hot is an electrifying, steamy, and utterly captivating romance that delivers everything I’ve come to love from Josie Juniper’s writing. After thoroughly enjoying Double Apex, I had high expectations for this book, and I’m thrilled to say it did not disappoint—it’s every bit as addictive, emotional, and swoon-worthy as its predecessor.
Josie Juniper’s writing is as sharp and engaging as ever, with vivid descriptions that bring the glamorous yet cutthroat world of elite racing to life. The pacing is perfect, blending steamy moments, emotional depth, and thrilling plot twists seamlessly. And just like in Double Apex, the supporting characters are well-drawn and add richness to the story, making the world feel fully realized.
If you’re a fan of second-chance romances, workplace tension, and stories with strong, independent heroines, Coming In Hot is a must-read. Josie Juniper has once again proven herself to be a master of contemporary romance, and I’m already eagerly anticipating whatever she writes next. This book is a winner, and I can’t recommend it enough!
