Steve Cavanaugh is a master web-weaver. Once again, the web couldn’t be any more tangled than it is in Fifty-Fifty. Eddie, Harper and Harry are back at it and by the 3rd chapter, you’re completely enthralled. In this unique concept, two sisters are pitted against each other, by their own accord, and are on trial for the murder of their high-profile father.

Sofia and Alexandra couldn’t be more different even though they share the same goal….to convince a jury of their peers that their sister is a killer. Someone is guilty, but who?

I highly recommend Fifty-Fifty!!

Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh is a thrilling, twist-filled legal drama that will have readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. With an explosive premise involving two sisters, Alexandra and Sofia, each accusing the other of their father’s murder, Cavanagh brilliantly weaves a narrative of deception, suspense, and betrayal that keeps you guessing at every turn.

The book opens with two distressing 911 calls: one sister claims the other is the murderer, and both insist that help is urgently needed. The question is: who’s telling the truth, and who’s the killer? This dual-perspective approach pulls readers into the heart of the case, making it nearly impossible to put down as we try to piece together the truth.

What really stands out in Fifty Fifty is Cavanagh’s ability to craft complex characters with motives that keep you questioning their every move. The dynamic between Alexandra and Sofia is charged with tension, and the reader is left trying to decipher the truth while also wrestling with their own suspicions. The courtroom drama is intense and clever, and the twists and turns are relentless, making for a fast-paced read.

Fans of legal thrillers and gripping whodunits will find Fifty Fifty to be an absolute page-turner. Cavanagh’s skillful writing, combined with a heart-pounding plot, ensures this book is a must-read for anyone looking for a smart, suspenseful, and ultimately satisfying thriller. Highly recommended for lovers of complex mysteries and courtroom drama!

3.5 Stars. This is not my favorite Cavanagh book. I was still entertained and engaged, but compared to other titles this fell a bit flat. The twist was not really the big surprise you’re used to with Cavanagh, however I’ll still look forward to reading future titles.

"Fifty Fifty" is a captivating legal thriller that immediately grabbed my attention with its sharp dialogue, intricate plotting, and thought-provoking moral dilemmas. As someone who ADORES Cavanagh's work, I certainly wasn't disappointed, and I think newcomers to the series will find themselves just as invested in Eddie Flynn's world as I am. It's the perfect kind of book for when you want a fast-paced, twisty thriller that keeps you guessing right up to the final page. If you're a fan of authors like Michael Connelly or John Grisham, "Fifty Fifty" is definitely a must-read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria for the advance reader copy. All opinions are my own.

This is my 2nd Steve Cavanagh book and he is definitely on my “auto-read” authors now! I absolutely love the twists and turns in this novel; especially as a woman with a sister, lol. I’m also a huge fan of a multiple POV book. All of these ingredients combine for a delicious meal!

The Eddie Flynn series is so fun and thrilling. This was not my favorite in the series but I enjoyed it still. I recommend for fans of Law and Order and shows like that. I was shocked by the turn of events in this one and can't wait to keep going.

Psycho thriller about 2 sisters, Alexandria and Sophia, both accused of killing their father. Very good plot with an exciting ending. The murders were too graphic which wasn’t necessary and didn’t add to the story.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy!
This book had me hooked from the start and kept me guessing to the ‘whodunit’ of the 2 sisters.
Lots of research went in to this book and didn’t realize this was a book from a series, but it is just fine to read by itself.
This book should be made into a movie; excellent thriller material.
Can’t wait to read more from Steve Cavanagh!

Wow just wow! This is my 3rd read from
This author and he never fails to keep me on my toes, gripping the edge of my seat to know the truth. Sofia and Alexandra are both arrested for the murder of their father, both blaming each other but only one did it. I was constantly doubting my own thoughts. Just when I thought it was all coming together I was wrong. Twist after twist. Writing perfect, plot fantastic. This probably made it to the list of my top 5 thrillers!

Thank you netgally and atria for letting me read this and review it

I am so glad that Steve Cavanagh's Eddie Flynn series is getting more attention. I had no idea which sister was guilty the entire time. I would be convinced at some points and then there would be details thrown in where I would doubt myself. I am planning to read the rest of the series.

After reading the premise, I was already hooked. 2 sisters call 911 claiming the other sister killed their father. Is one of them the killer, both of them, or possibly none of them. I loved this crime thriller and it read like I was watching an episode of Law and Order or a movie. Even though this is technically #5 in a series, it can be read as a stand alone which I like. So many twists and turns and once you think you know, you still don't. So many red herrings (which were great) and I still couldn't guess who the culprit was. Will definitely read more in this series as I like Eddie Flynn as a character and I want to read about his backstory and his future!

My rating: 3/5... I enjoyed it, but ready for my next read.

I will start out by saying that this book is the 5th book in the Eddie Flynn series. Despite having NOT read the previous 4 in the series, I wanted to give it a try because I have read another book by this author and was surprised by several of the twists (Kill for Me, Kill for You).

I really enjoyed the story-line of the actual court case portion of this book. That being said, I think I would have enjoyed it much more overall if I had read all prior books. While the story does stand on it's own and there is an attempt to catch up the reader on supporting character's/history from previous plot lines - I did not feel connected to many of the personal aspects of Flynn's life or relationships. I found myself wanting to get through those parts and back into the case/court room.

My only real critique of this book was that when you switched into Kate's POV, it still felt as though the POV was from a middle-aged male instead of younger female. I wish her voice was more distinct and aligned with her character, than sounding like it was still coming from Eddie's mind.

So would I recommend this book? Yes, but I would recommend reading from the start of the series and not reading this one as a standalone.

This was such a nail-biter from beginning to end. It’s always so exciting for me to discover a new-to-me author that I now have several of his backlist to read, so thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.

Two wealthy sisters were in the mansion at the time their father was murdered. They both have his blood on him, and both their fingerprints are on the knife used to viciously kill him since it’s also the knife they’ve used to cook dinner for him. The sisters hate each other and have since they were children, and their cruel mother died under mysteriously circumstances. They both call 911 within moments of the other, each saying her sister is responsible for their father’s death. Eddie is a lawyer who takes on the sister that self-harms by cutting and substance abuse. He only takes on clients he believes are innocent, but his chances of proving that are 50/50.

Absolutely loved this book, I have read 2 books from this series and loved both of them! So twisty and mysterious that gets unhooked from the beginning. I’m usually not into court proceedings books but this whole series is so mysterious and twisty that I couldn’t put it down. Will most definitely finish this whole series.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria books for approving this ebook, will most definitely recommend this book.

One man is dead and one of his daughters did it - so they’re on trial against each other. POV from the attorney of each sister, as well as “she” - the killer, we just don’t know which. This book had my head spinning and I truly could not decide who I thought did it!

What an absolutely wild ride this was! Book five in the Eddie Flynn series and if you enjoy legal thrillers and haven’t read any of these you’re missing out! Steve Cavanaugh has created an absolute masterpiece in Mr Flynn

I’ve read these all out of order but I can’t wait to read the next one. Highly recommend!! Written so incredibly well!
