So often sequels don't hold up to the original but this one does. Mundt kept the tension building and made me care even more for Camille and leaned more about her. This was even more heartbreaking then the first and I just wanted to reach through the pages to give Camille a hug. I can't wait for volume 3 to come out. These are some graphic novels I could see myself revisiting again and again.

I love a graphic novel with a queer storyline and so it was delightful to get ARCs for the Muted releases coming out this year! Both have major self-discovery and found-family vibes. I will definitely want to read more of this series!

As Camille’s powers grow, she learns more about herself, her past, and her newfound friends. Camille struggles with the guilt of leaving her cousin, Avaline, alone with the Matriarch of the Severin family, Athalie. Meanwhile, Athalie continues to plot to limit Camille’s freedom, through guilt, manipulation, or by any means necessary. Family ties are tested, love interests abound, and everyone seems to be out to get Camille.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of the second instalment in this series!!

I really enjoyed this book a lot and felt it was a good follow up to the first volume. We definitely get to know more about Camille and her past in this one, which I loved to read about. I love the very cute flirty-ish relationship between Nyra and Camille.
I've heard there's a polyamorous relationship in this series so I can't wait to see who will be added to their relationship, though I have my suspicions about who it may be.

I cannot wait to read the next volume!

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

Muted Vol 2 goes more into the story of Camille. She is learning more about herself, where she came from and what she wants. This volume is getting more into her past and gets darker than the first volume, even the artwork reflects that and is of course stunning like in the first book. I like how Volume 2 answered a few questions I had from Volume 1 about how their magical families worked and a few other little things.

Muted: Volume 2 takes us right back into the story of the Severin family of witches. This volume is definitely darker than volume 1, both in art style and content (tw: grief, survivors guilt, anger, trauma, abuse from family). I really enjoyed this and can’t wait for volume 3 to come out! Highly recommend this series.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read Muted: Volume 2.

I really, really love this series!

Muted follows Camille, a young, orphaned witch who was raised by her less-than-kind Aunt (and that is putting it lightly). After a major spell goes slightly awry, Camille starts to learn more about herself and her past. With the help of friends and refound family, she gains the courage to face her fears, and face past tragedies head on.

Volume 2 finds Camille facing demons (both literal and figural), learning more about her powers, major crushes and cute flirting, and so much more.

Muted is a super inclusive book, and mixes between dark, humorous, cute, and cozy. The artwork is beautiful, and the writing and character development are really well done. I highly, highly recommend this series, but definitely read volume 1, first!

Picking up where Volume 1 ended, Camille is struggling to understand the truth of her past — her mother’s death, her father’s side of the family and her own new powers — while dealing with her demon, her crush, her cousin, and now a murderous entity stalking her. It’s a lot to take in. While Camille is undergoing her own problems, her cousin Avaline is now firmly under her mother’s control with now Camille to support and protect her.

Avaline’s familiar, Beau, has been taken hostage by Silvia, caged and hurt — a hurt Avaline feels each time — to control her daughter. A daughter that she uses to try to get Camille back, Camille who has always been held up to Avaline as someone better, more talented, more powerful, more deserving. Silvia’s attention for her niece looks a whole lot like affection to Avaline, who has never had even a moment of love from her mother, and it drives a wedge between the two cousins.

The fight between the two of them has Camille losing control of her magic, which in and of itself is bad … but it might also cause the other covens to put Camille through a muting, keeping her from her magic or worse, giving her back into her aunt’s control. All this while Nyra and Camille are fighting a murderous demon who was responsible for her mother and sister’s death.

There’s a lot of world building here regarding the covens, the summoning of demons, the powers and limitations of familiars as well as a look into a toxic family, paranoia, PTSD and magic. The art is lush and gorgeous with evocative character designs, lovely backgrounds, and beautifully done atmospheric moments. I can’t wait for the next volume!

Thank you so much to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC!

I loved seeing more of Dendro and getting more into the real dark and tragic mystery surround that demon possessed girl, Diana.

Avaline is my favorite and seeing her hang back to brown was so SAD! But The introduction of the charming howl looking demon is very promising!
Camile & Nyra are super cute as their crushes turn into a trusting beginning of a relationship. Bit of a love triangle going on between Camile/Dendro/Nyra hehehe.

I loved this as a Webtoon and still love it. As Camille’s story continues, we learn more about her and her past. So much of it is so sad and I feel so bad for her. Dendro and Nyra were amazing and how they were there for Camille when she needed them. Things got intense and kind of creepy with the demons and even with Camille’s family. Athalie sucks and is abusive and just evil. Avaline also suffered, and I felt so bad for her and about how her mother treated her. I had almost forgotten how things went when Camille ran into Athalie when meeting with Avaline. The story is so good and well written and I adore the art. I am so excited for the next installment and what comes next.
