This was a really good story. Her husband was a loser and you can tell from the start. I'm glad her children supported her. The only thing I did not understand was why the whole problem with one of her customers had a mess in her company they had to write about the vilolence had to be encluded with the story. Seemed unnesassary to the book. There was a happy ending like I'm sure you would expect and I read the book just to find out how it was going to end in one day. Thats how good I thought the writing was and I will be looking for more stories by Sally Morgan

i feel a bit weird saying how much i liked this book. because like, im not going along with what everyone else is reviewing so "whats wrong with me?" but i really enjoyed this book. really really enjoyed it. it followed a pattern of book i love. you have the main character who finds herself hurt by her idiot husband. so she flees to wonderful village and lovely but yes nosy people. she also literally stumbles across our mmc. and so is told their story. with all the ups and downs. the romance. the bit of spice. the interference from others. haha i love these books. and really enjoyed this. give me the first one please and any that come after.
i feel really bad for this author. i dont understand the other reviews. its just as good as any in this genre. and this genre holds a special audience and we all usually come together with such warmth and support. so i dont like thinking the author will come and see these reviews. because for me there was nothing that warranted it. its was a lovely lovely read. but of course EVERONE is allowed and should be able to give their opinion. im never going to say they are wrong because they arent. my thoughts i merely for the author here and not wanting to see such negative reviews.

When Sue's husband wakes her with a cup of tea and to say he is going to Portugal to fins himself, Sue is pole axed.
As her anger grows she has to get away, with both children studying in Wales she decides to move temporarily to Talwern and starts to live her life for her.
Stephen has given up on love after being abandoned by his wife for his business partner.
When Sue's car ends up in a ditch and Stephen comes to her rescue the electric but he has promised never to risk loving someone again and she is still a married woman.
The villagers are wonderful and the characters are well written, the extra excitement at the end just made the book better.
A great book and I can't wait to go back to Talwern.

I was expecting to like this boom based on the synopsis but is so poorly written that it was a struggle to finish.

The chaos at the beginning of this book had me thinking it would be different than what it ended up being. I was expecting a really funny and comical redemption of a woman scorned. I was a bit bored however, and just plain confused by the sheer amount of characters. The kids were all amazing, and the mystery was a bit off as well so it didn't get keep me enthralled either. I really like the second chance aspect but that's about all I enjoyed. Grateful for the chance to read it however!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-arc in exchange for the honest review.

Thank you BooksGoSocial for this arc.
Sadly this is going to be a DNF for me. The blurb was intriguing and I wanted to see Sue rise above being left by her doofus husband. Yeah, she seems to do that but it's a boring trip watching this. Everything falls too neatly into place as she quickly moves house and falls into village life in Wales where everyone has to know everyone else's business. I find it hard to believe that an Englishwoman is going to blurt out to a complete stranger that her husband just left her.
The writing is far more telling than showing with lots of useless descriptions of background nothing thrown in. Honestly, this annoyed me and then almost put me to sleep.
I did like the children of both main characters but not enough to keep slogging through this.

This is a relaxing, slow-paced small-town romance. It’s not a rom-com. It includes a few more details about farm animals than I would have liked.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

I'm sorry to say it, but in simple words, this book is boring, forgettable, and confusing.
There are too many characters (we're expected to remember who's who, and it's AT LEAST 20 people), which makes it too confusing for me. Also, on that note, the formatting of the Kindle version is absolutely terrible, everything is wrecked, and it's a nightmare to read through it.
It's boring, because nothing happens 85% of the book, it's just a bit of talking with everyone about very general stuff. The 15% with the promised 'accountancy being more exciting than expected' was fine, but it felt forced and out of place after so much of the book being about nothing. It was also predictable, and lasted for far too short to be attractive as part of the plot.
The main characters have no chemistry in my opinion, and I don't like the MMC, because he's creepy right at the start (SPOILER: I got cringed out by him wanting to 'kiss her tears away' when he'd just met her, because she was in a car accident; who has thoughts like this about a distressed, strange woman?). Also, SPOILER, he picked the two worst moments to kiss her, which made me uncomfortable. Overall, it's a 'no' for Stephen from me, though outside that he generally isn't that bad.
2/5, and I think that's generous, because I can't really point out anything I enjoyed.

Loved this . . Did not realise it was a second in a series but can read alone . I have ordered the first one and preordered the third one. A great feel good read. Some amazing twists..who knew being an accountant could be quite so exciting. The main characters husband was just unbelievable . A perfect Saturday afternoon read.

A nice enjoyable read that builds without spice and the characters are likeable. Definitely looking forward to more from the author.

I have to be honest, I was a bit bored by this book. What I liked was that this was a second chance for both protagonists who had bad marriages, and they both had stellar supportive kids. There is some mystery thrown in as well that keeps the book readable
