Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my opinion.
This book had me from the get go. It was so good and really pulled me in. The characters were well developed and the story line was riveting. Another great one from Harlan Coben!
The narration was great as well!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette Audio and Grand Central Publishing for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors, but this book did not make my top 5. The books POV comes from an ex cop who meet a girl 25 years ago in Spain, but assumes that she is dead. The girl turns up into his life 25 years later and the book takes us on an investigation as to what happened. This book wraps up very quickly in the end, and the twists and turns just didn’t grab my attention like some of Coben’s other books.

It’s one of those books where you read the first page and just know that this story already owns you and you are must finish it incredibly fast!
It’s written in a mature, seasoned, clever writing voice.
The voice surprisingly not devoid of emotion and humanity.
I can’t help but love a good classy detective! And this one was great!
The writing, the language, the nuances, the way the author so artfully, so subtly leads you very gently in the direction of his plot twist. Without TELLING you, without making suggestions…. Just slowly nudging your subconscious in the right direction.
His writing voice is just such a pleasure. I always seek a humorous writing voice, one full of heart and meaningful soul. One that doesn’t take himself too seriously.
I want a writer who conquers you with the story, who wins the round of the guessing game every time. It’s a pretty difficult task. And Harlan Coben knows how to develop a tight perfect-puzzle double plot.
And to do it with grace, with talent of storytelling, genuine unexpected humanity… it was a breath of fresh air!
It was wonderful to read such a vibrant detective story that brings back all the greats - the Sherlock Holmes being the KING of the Detective Genre.

The unpredictability and depth of the characters made it all the more captivating, especially with how diverse and well-developed they were. The fact that the plot felt so grounded in reality added a layer of intensity that made it even more compelling. It's rare to find an author who can deliver such a gripping, immersive experience, and it’s clear you’ve found one whose work you’ll follow for years to come. Honestly, I could see this becoming a long-running series, and I'd gladly keep reading along with you.

You never see it coming. Harlan Coben’s way of twisting reality and facts keep you reading until the very end. Former detective Sami Kierce’s past is back to haunt him. But the more he investigated Ana’s reappearance the more dangerous it became finding the truth about his past. Gripping and totally addictive. The audiobook with Vikas Adam is amazing. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

4.5 stars
Every time I read a Harlan Coben book, I’m reminded of how much I enjoy his writing. Nobody’s Fool is immediately engaging—not a breakneck thriller, but one that steadily pulls you in with its twists and turns. While surprises are sprinkled throughout, most of the big reveals come toward the end, making for a satisfying payoff.
The major characters are well developed, while the minor ones, though somewhat flat, serve their purpose in driving the plot forward. While this book could stand on its own, I’d definitely recommend reading Fool Me Once first to get additional background on Sami Kierce and the returning characters. Their histories add an extra layer of depth to this installment.
On the narration front, I really enjoyed the voice for Sami. The other characters voices were not my favorite.
Another solid, entertaining read from Coben!

I enjoy Harlan Coben novels, and this was no exception. He develops the characters so well and interwines characters and information. I did this one as an audio book, amazing. The narrarator did an excellent job of building the suspense and changing voices of charcters.
I enjoyed the build of Sami Kierce's character and background before the real adventure/mystery began. Even when I thought it could have been the brother, i wasn't sure. Why would they hire Kierce to investigate which kept me guessing and second guessing... and same with Tad - Could he have been innocent?
Nobody's Fool is another 5-star Harlan Coben book for me (and I hope to see it on Netflix)

The book had a slow start but picked up soon. Some of the twists were good while some were predictable. The narrator of the audio book has done a good job. Kept me interested to the end. 4.5 stars

The 2nd Sami Kierce book did not disappoint. A holiday romance that ended badly resurfaces at the same time as the convicted murderer of Kierce's ex is released from prison so how are they connected? Loved the twists in this book and I could never see what was coming next. It's high paced with lots of interesting characters. Hoping there isn't a long wait for the next!

WOW!!! Harlan Coben can write a thriller like no other. His books take you in from the first page and keep you guessing until the last words!!!
I hope we will see much more of Sami Kierce in future books!!!
The audio version of this book is amazing and the narrator is perfect for the part!!!
Thank you NetGalley, Hachette Audio and Grand Central Publishing for the honor to read and review this book!!!

Wow! Coben knocks it out of the ball park with this one. A seasoned and accomplished thriller writer, few authors create such appealing flawed heroes. Coben’s quick wit and humor is on full display in Nobody’s Fool, and he has created another a face-paced and entertaining read in this third novel of the Kierce series, wrapping up neatly a 25 year mystery from the former Detective Sami Kiece’s youth. Highly recommended for all readers of mysteries and thrillers.
The audiobook narrator is accomplished but some may find the female voices grating.

If I could give an award for most reliable high-octane, plot-driven, rapid fire suspense writing, it would have to go to Harlan Coben. And he's done it again with Nobody's Fool. Here he gives us a fascinating character, Sami Kierce, with quite an interesting backstory. On a backpacking trip through Europe Sami meets a mysterious and beautiful woman and falls for her.... but their short dalliance ends in tragedy as he wakes up in a pool of her blood. Years later, the murder (or was it a murder?) comes back to haunt him,
But as with most Harlan Coben books, there are twists aplenty and nothing is as it seems. The book does a fascinating and cool job blending a Patty Hearst type kidnapping case of a rich heiress type with Sami's predicament, in which he and a class of aspiring detectives he is teaching at a local school are enlisted to find out what REALLY happened to the woman Sami used to know. There are too many cool twists for me to potentially spoil to say more, but I was riveted throughout the entire audiobook. The voice acting was great as well and the plot kept me guessing until the very end with no shortage of action. Coben is never afraid to "go there" with shocking and unexpected emotional plot twists and this book does a great job shocking you with those while getting you invested in Sami and his story. I'm now motivated to go back and read the first book in the series about Sami, even though this book works just fine as a stand alone. A great listening experience which makes me excited for Coben's next effort!

First of all thank you to @HachetteAudio for allowing me to review this book before its release. Can I just say, this book was fantastic! The narrator did such a great job and the audiobook was very easy to listen to. Now on to the story, I was really on the edge of my seat with this one! Sami was a great character with qualities that really made you root for him. And I love his rag-tag group of students that help him along the way. This was a truly unpredictable mystery that keeps you hooked from the start. Honestly this is probably one of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to in a while!

Harlan Coben does it again! Nobody’s Fool is a masterclass in suspense, weaving a gripping mystery that had me hooked from page one. As a longtime fan, I had high expectations, and Coben delivered in full force.
Just when I thought I had it all figured out—BAM! Plot twist. And then another. And another. He keeps you on your toes, making you question every character, every motive, and every clue. The pacing is flawless, the tension is thick, and the storytelling is exactly what you expect from a Coben thriller—absolutely unputdownable.
If you love a mystery that keeps you guessing until the very last page, this one’s for you. Highly recommend!

Sami Kierce is working off his debts by doing surveillance jobs and teaching a class for sleuths at a night school in New York City. One night, he recognizes a familiar face in the back of the classroom, but she leaves the class as soon as he makes eye contact with her. Sami is certain this is the girl, Anna, he met twenty-two years ago while backpacking in Spain. Back then, he woke up one morning covered in blood with a knife in his hand, Anna lying beside him, dead. Who is this woman that showed up at Sami’s class? Could it really be Anna? Sami is determined to find out.
This is the second installment in Harlan Coben’s Sami Kierce series. Although I do recommend reading the first for background knowledge on Sami, I do believe this could also be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the characters of Sami and his wife, Molly. I felt they were relatable. The twists and turns leave you wanting more. The ending was both shocking and satisfying. I really enjoyed the narrator, Vikas Adam. He had a great voice and kept me wanting to listen to find out what would happen next. I give this one 4/5 stars. I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys thrillers!

You can never go wrong with a Harlan Coben book! "Nobody's Fool" is the follow-up to "Fool Me Once" and it was a wonderful book! Loved both!!

Harlan Coben gets your heart racing every time and this one is no different. The way the plot unfolds just flows so well and the twists are out of nowhere!
This is the second in a series, but could easily be read as a standalone.
Thank you to Harlan Coben, NetGalley, and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Hatchette audio for the review copy!
I am a long time fan of Coben's and this was is classic twists and turns, fast escapist plot.
I enjoyed it but it's one of those mysteries where readers don't get all of the info the main character has and I prefer to go along with a mystery that I could solve, I don't always like it when I find out something was withheld. That won't bother everyone, some might even enjoy this kind of plot for the way the reveals come and the puzzle fits together, it is satisfying overall, but it wasn't a big win for me. I also am likely in the minority but I didn't love the voice acting, it felt a little too much trying to be a broken down kind of shady former detective, a little over performed and grizzled.

Sami Kierce has lost his job as a cop, he’s working as a private investigator and teaching classes to make ends meet when one day, a women enters his class. A woman who looks a lot like a lover he had in college, one he woke to covered in blood, with a knife in his hands. All these years later the guilt and worry over this girl, Anna, had gotten to him. His first wife was murdered and all these things are coming to a head.
This book has a lot of characters and plot lines to follow. This kept the book entertaining in that I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how it all tied together and had to get to the end for some clarity.

Nobody’s Fool is the sequel to Fool Me Once, bringing back Kierce - except now he’s a PI and he’s changed his name to Sami. The name change seems to have come from the British TV show. In book 1, “Sami” Kierce was pretty irrelevant, but since he’s a lot more active in the show, maybe that’s why we got this sequel. Suffice to say, you won’t need to read (or watch) 1 to understand 2.
This time, Kierce gets involved in two cases that are personal to him. He’s also teaching a criminology class and I loved the students and the dynamics they added to the story - so cute and quirky! If I could sign up for his night class, I would in a heartbeat!
I had to take notes while reading because, between the two cases and the large cast of characters, there was a lot going on.
It made the audiobook even more impressive - the voice work for each character was so good. I switched between the eBook and audiobook, which is my favorite way to read!
I didn’t guess the outcomes, so I was satisfied, but the ending wrapped up pretty fast, which was a shame. I’d have loved something jollier, maybe with the students, since they were such a highlight.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one! It’s not my favorite Coben, but I’d definitely read another Kierce book - maybe this time, he can keep his name!
