If you like fated mates, who did this to you, touch her & die tropes, imagine that x4 in this why choose romantasy!

The FMC, Rylee, is part of the lowest class in a society where the wealthy rule and social station dictates everything. Her hunt for her missing older sister leads her to sneak into the Choosing ceremony hosted for the 4 part-god princes, known as the Legends of Chaos, to find their mate. Rylee’s sole purpose for attending the choosing ceremony had everything to do with her search for answers and nothing to do with being chosen as a mate potential. But, things always happen when you least expect them and she ends up being chosen for the Legends of Chaos. What would be every girls dream in her world is her worst nightmare as she has more than one secret that could get her killed if the princes find out.

Rylee is reckless, daring, impulsive and unapologetically herself, even if it could get her in trouble at times. Watching her come into herself and feeling worthy of the love she receives was so relatable and enjoyable to read about. The MMCs were all swoon-worthy in their own way, I literally couldn’t pick which one I liked most. You had golden retriever MMCs and broody, mysterious MMCs. The Legends of Chaos had this carefully crafted persona and getting to know the real them and how they each complement not only their own group, but later Rylee was what I enjoyed the most about this book. The banter between them all was great and the multi-POVs allowed you to experience all the characters emotions, making the romance so much better.

Even though this was a why choose romance, Jade Presley did an amazing job of writing a gripping plot & intricate, unique world/magic system that was easy to follow and interesting. The spice scenes were passionate, well written and intense in the best way. This would be a great intro to why choose romance for anyone that wants to dip their toes in.

The last 10% of the book gave me whiplash with that twist & I am chomping at the bit to see where it’s going next!!

Thank you to Quercus books and Netgalley for an ARC copy of The Never List in return for my honest opinion.

‘the never list’ is a solid romantasy with a well-established world. i really liked jade’s presley’s style of writing, i think it has a flow to it that makes the reading experience more vivid and enjoyable. the characters are likeable and the pov switches between them to get a full rotation of their thoughts and feelings. i did guess the ending, but i have no complaints about doing so — i’m very much looking forward to book two.

OMG this is my favourite book that I've read in a while 😭😭😭😭

This book had me utterly consumed!!!!

Rylee is rebellious and feisty and takes no nonsense from anyone. She finds a way into a party where the Princes have to choose a mate. But she has a secret that she's hiding from them!!

This book is very much a romance with fantasy, and I love every single thing about it!

But OMG CLIFFHANGER 😱😱😱. I absolutely love a good cliffhanger but I need to know more now!! So so good!!!

OBSESSED!!!

This book was an addictive read, I couldn't put it down.

It was hot, spicy, fast paced ~ totally delicious.

Rylee was a fun FMC; sarcastic, adventurous, and up for anything.

And then there were the Legends...

I don't even know which one is my favourite (I would have picked them all too)

The spice was spicing. But it didn't take away from the plot. I loved the dynamics Rylee had with each of the Legends, and watching them fall for her was super cute (I'm not jealous, honest)

I think about halfway through, I guessed how it was going to end. But now I'm left in suspense while waiting for book 2.

LOVED. THIS. BOOK.

You know when you want a book that you can just eat right up, no questions asked? This is that book.

The Never List is incredibly fast moving and reminiscent of the likes of Broken Bonds by J Bree, with our main gal being the one tying a group of guys together. With her participating in trials throughout, it’s only natural to root for her, and for the pages to keep on turning.

Do be wary that this one leans more towards the “all smut, little substance” side of things - I would’ve loved for things within the trial plot to be just a liiiiittle more fleshed out, as there were large gaps of time skipped and such. But while this whirlwind felt a smidge ridiculous at times, there was something weirdly addictive about it too. For me it’s definitely the sort you have to be in the mood for, but would prove the exact sort of bingeable story if it hits right.

The Never List is certainly a fun one, and I’d be intrigued to read the sequel when it comes!

5 stars - steamy fantasy romance

My first reverse harem so I honestly wasn’t sure what I was letting myself in for or if I’d even enjoy it. I needn’t of worried, however, as this book was one hell of a ride. Fun and steamy perfection!

I genuinely couldn’t imagine liking each love interest equally until this book.
Kal - the kind, calming one whose city reminded me of someplace like Italy.
Axl - the fun laid back risk taker who lives by the coast.
Pierce - the quiet bookish nerdy guy who lives in a cabin in the woods.
Jax - the typical broody bad boy who only wants to be loved.

The four princes need a mate to unlock the full potential of their powers - enter Riley who is just looking for her missing sister. Riley should be nowhere near the princes - as an ashlander and a Demi with wind powers, she would be killed instantly by their fathers, the kings if ever found.

Great story, intriguing world, loveable characters and fantastic spicy scenes. Why chose? Highly recommend and would recommend as beginner book to reverse harems. I need book 2!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of the ebook.

Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for approving me to read this, I’m rating it 4.5.

This was almost a 5 star read for me, I was just a little taken back by the last couple chapters. Everything leading up to the end is captivating and a real challenge, but personally for me the ending just felt a little too easy for what we built up to. This doesn’t take away for my eagerness to continue the series.

Why choose is like a drug to be honest, it’s passionate and intense with so many different core characters it could get confusing but the author juggles the POV’s very well and it was easy to get to know the characters individually.

I really enjoyed the magic system and the concept which includes different factions and some political strife and a mysterious rebellion force taking justice into their own hands. A few different plot lines remain a mystery and I’m excited to see where things go, and the many different intentions some of the background characters may possess.

The Never List is so good, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in just two days. It has everything you want in a romantasy novel: a fierce and kick-ass female lead, princes with supernatural powers and a "touch her and die attitude", just the right amount of spice, and a cliffhanger that will leave you annoyed that you have to wait for the sequel.

The story evolves around Rylee, who’s from the lower class of Lumathyst. Her sister, went missing a year ago and shes looking to see what has happened to her. Rylee and her friends attend "The Choosing Ceremony", looking for clues for where Rhylee's sister vanished —surprise—Rylee is selected and has to spend the next four months visiting the four princes of the realm to see if she's there true mate. While hiding where she's from and the reason why she was at the "choosing"

My only complaint is that I wished there were more scenes with Rylee and the boys. The few chapters they shared together left me wanting a lot more.

Thank you NetGalley and Quercus for sending me an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest reviews.

Honestly where to start? This book is a steamy why choose that allows you to intimately get to know each of our four MMC’s (because who doesn’t love that) wrapped up in an adventure mystery of searching for a missing sister and seeing if our FMC can be the one true fated mate to save the realm of Lumathyst.

I genuinely really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. For a why choose book there was a lot of plot, and the spice didn’t take away from the story at all which was refreshing. Normally I gravitate towards one or two MMC’s but in this book I could happily have them all, and they all got their own individual times to shine. The book leaves on an incredibly CRUEL cliffhanger and I hope that a sequel is in the works because I will be sure to absolutely devour that whole too looking for answers (and perhaps a little more of the spice)

I have spent the last 2 days reading, devouring and thinking about this book - both in plot and spice so can’t rate it any less than 5 stars, and I have a new author who’s works I will be reading for the foreseeable future.

Sign me up for the Choosing!

Rylee with the help of her two friends sneeks into the Royal choosing ceremony to try and find information about her missing sister. The choosing is where one woman is chosen to be the four prince's potential mate, a task no one has succeeded in. When one of the half God prince's chooses Rylee as this year's potential she fights to keep her secrets buried to make it out alive as not only is her kind banned from the choosing but she also harbours a secret power. Slowly but surely her feelings change and she can really see a life with each of the terrifying prince's.

I devoured this book at an unreasonably fast pace! It was steamy, hot but still had plenty of plot. Each of the four prince's were well developed and I fell in love with each of them. Rylee is strong and takes absolutely no nonsense from anyone, they way she evolves throughout the story made her FMC the first one I've really jelled with for a long time. The action and threats had me genuinely scared (and at one point disgusted).
I am chomping at the bit for book two already!

The Never List was fast-paced, fun, and so easy to read that I inhaled it on one go. It can be so difficult to pace RHs right, to give equal focus to each character and to perfect the plot to romance/spice balance, but this one really nailed all of it. The FMC, Rylee, spends a month with each of the four MMCs, who are basically superhero Princes. Each MMC is completely distinct, and I loved how her time with each was different. For a RH, it was also really sweet. There was a lot packed into this book, but somehow the author made it all work seemingly effortlessly, and I just flew through it.

One thing though: nowhere in the blurb/description, the online retailer and review sites, the NetGalley page or the book itself does it indicate that this is the first book in a series, rather than the standalone that I thought it was. So I just wanted to point that out in case anyone else gets to the end like I did, thinking "How can this possibly all get wrapped up now??" Well, it can't, because it's a series. That's not a bad thing by any means, but it might be good to know going into it that it has a full on cliffhanger at the end! I don't know how many books there are going to be but I can't wait to see how this story continues. With how much the author did in this one book, I'm sure there are lots of twists and turns to come in the rest of the series!

This had a really interesting premise but didn't quite seem to hit the mark. I was interested in Rylee's motives, however her quest for her sister seemed to fall behind a bit and get forgotten about. I also found that the following three cities after Kal were quite rushed and I would have liked to see them be as fleshed out as the first.

I started this book with no intention of reading it as quick as I did, but I couldn’t put it down. I would of inhaled it quicker if I hadn’t had to go to work 😂

For a fantasy it was easy to grasp the story and world, no complex language or magic systems. The plot had me hooked and wanting to know more, it didn’t feel like it was just driven by spice. Although, the spice was great.

This book is a why choose romance and I actually really enjoyed that we got time with each MMC seperately and got to know them too, which you don’t always get with a why choose. It made the bonds and connections between the characters feel more genuine. I enjoyed the POVs of all the characters.

The ending…ends on a major cliffhanger, I need answers right now….please!

Thank you to NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my honest review.

I was really intrigued by the premise of this book, who wouldn’t be drawn in by a RH forbidden romance with a dash of mystery?

Rylee is an outcast, the lowest of the low on society. She has been doomed to live her life in the Ashland’s, a part of society where the only criminals and demis live, until she decides to sneak into the choosing party held for the princes. From here she is picked as their chosen and must spend time with each of them, whilst batting her feelings and hiding her secrets.

I think the magic system was easy to follow, whilst it was unique it also wasn’t overly complicated. However there were open ended opportunities to expand the world building further and this wasn’t done, I didn’t get a massive fantasy world vibe even though I think the aim was there with the magic system etc.

Overall there was something lacking. The main male characters were not unique and I struggled to differentiate between Axl, Kal and eventually Pierce they all read the same. Jax only read different as he stood out from the beginning due to his issues and hatred towards Rylee, but again he lacked depth like the others.

The time Rylee spent with each MMC in their territories was again surface level, there was a lot of effort put into Kal’s month and the others were rushed and I felt like we didn’t learn much about the other men.

This book does end on a cliff hanger so I’m hoping that maybe there will be more exploration into these characters and hopefully the world system as the series continues.
