This was a quick and fun read that I finished in a few hours.
A well written suspense filled with twists that kept me hooked from the very beginning.
An intriguing story with characters who draw you in and keeps you flipping the pages.
The characters were all realistic and very well developed.
I really enjoyed the writing style. I found myself gripped, turning the pages, not knowing what was to come next.
It was suspenseful, mysterious and unpredictable.

From the outside Maddie has the perfect life. A gorgeous husband, who is a top neurosurgeon, three beautiful children and the house of her dreams. But as she gets the children ready for the day alone yet again it's obvious her life is far from perfect.

Cole works long hours at the hospital and gets called in at the drop of a hat. While Maddie understands his job is important she also sees what it's doing to her children, not having their dad around.

As Maddie gets the children ready for school, her phone buzzes on the kitchen counter. A message from a blocked number that states "your husband is planning to kill you....."

Is Cole really planning to kill her? Well he needs to be careful because he's not the most dangerous person in this family.....

I really enjoyed this book! The chapters were short and snappy which left me wanting more at the end of each one! There were a few twists I saw coming but the execution of them was spot on! 👌

I just finished reading this and honestly, it had me pulled in right from the start. The story does a great job blending psychological suspense with raw emotional tension. I really felt for the main character watching her question everything she thought she knew about her marriage was intense and at times heartbreaking. The author builds up the mystery slowly, dropping just enough clues to keep you suspicious but never fully sure of what’s coming.

There were definitely a few twists I saw coming, but that didn’t take away from the experience if anything, it made me more eager to see how everything would unravel. The emotional weight behind the suspense really stood out to me; it wasn’t just about shocking moments, but also about how betrayal and fear can twist a person’s sense of reality.

Overall, it was a really solid read. It kept me up late flipping pages, and I was invested until the very end. 4 stars

Absolutely loved this book! I was hooked and couldn’t put it down, I needed to know what was happening and get to the bottom of what happened and find out whether the husband was lying or not. The twists were crazy and I wasn’t expecting the ending! I’ll definitely be recommending this book

A good thriller. Fast-paced chapters with escalating tension in each one. Maddie is getting threatening messages about her husband Cole's honesty. Cole is a respected neurosurgeon, and it looks like he was hiding something. Their daughter Ellie is also suspicious of her father. Told with multiple points of view, the suspense buildup is gripping, but some twists are a little predictable. Though, new revelations were coming out till the end. Recommended for domestic mystery lovers. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC. .

I zipped through this tense yet easy-to-read tale as I was rather reluctant to put it down. The writing was smartly paced and well-honed, with several story threads that came together cleverly with unexpected twists. Ms. Browne is a crafty one and kept me guessing until the very end.

Love Sheryl Browne books and this book doesn’t disappoint!!!! “My Loving Husband” is a domestic drama that will make your jaw drop.
Imagine this: Perfect family. Surgeon husband. Creepy warning message. Wife gets an anonymous text saying hubby wants her GONE. Talk about relationship goals gone WRONG!
This story has so many twists and turns up until the very end. Many thanks to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

I enjoyed reading My Loving Husband by Sheryl Browne and found it engaging throughout. However, the ending left me disappointed, as it felt abrupt and lacked a satisfying resolution. While the story kept me intrigued, I was hoping for a more cohesive conclusion. Additionally, I found certain plot developments to be somewhat predictable.

My Loving Husband by Sheryl Browne

Another intriguing and twisty thriller by Sheryl Browne. The tension built up bit by bit in the story with different POVs. Maddie who married to a doctor with a pair of twins and a daughter Ellie. Maddie received not only one mysterious threatening call or message - "Your husband is planning to kill you…". But when you thought the husband was the dangerous one, there was another person more threatening.

Sheryl's thriller kept me guessing until the end. It was a surprising and twisted one! When you thought the story was obvious, no, it's not! Such an enjoyable read.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for my copy.

This was a gripping, twisty read that had me hooked from the start! My Loving Husband is a domestic psychological thriller that slowly builds tension until it explodes with secrets and shocking reveals. The story follows Maddie, who begins to question everything when she gets a message warning her that her husband might be trying to kill her. With the story told from multiple perspectives—Maddie, her husband Cole, and their daughter Ellie—it gives a deeper look into the cracks forming in their perfect family life.
I really enjoyed the suspense and the way the author kept me second-guessing every character. There were a few slower moments, but it all paid off by the end. Sheryl Browne knows how to write an addictive thriller, and this one didn’t disappoint. Full of drama, lies, and tension, it’s a perfect read for fans of domestic thrillers that keep you guessing.

Reading in Between the Wines book review #35/125 for 2025:
Rating: 3.5 🍷🍷🍷
Book: My Loving Husband
Author: Sheryl Browne
AVAILABLE NOW!!!

Sipping thoughts: I was so engaged in this book. It started off strong and then slowed down a little bit to a slow burn. One of the characters was insufferable, and I wanted her to get her comeuppance. There were a lot of twists and turns and switches in the story I did not expect. It read as domestic suspense, and I enjoyed the multi-person point of view. I always enjoy Sheryl Browne books, and this one was right up there.

Cheers and thank you to @Netgalley and @Bookouture for an advanced copy of @MyLovingHusband.

This one is an intriguing and engaging psychological thriller. It’s cleverly written and keeps you guessing throughout. It has a well developed storyline and characters. The characters are likeable for the most part but like any good thriller there are some despicable characters. Just when you think you know where it’s going your sent another way and all your hard work goes out the window. There is many a twist and turn. The storyline moves at a steady pace and gives you just enough to keep you engaged. The outcome is definitely not where I thought it was going 😉…

I couldn't put it down. Twists, turns, red herrings, it has it all. Absolutely fantastic story. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

This book was pretty good. I didn't realize the twist until I got more into the book. The Author did a good job hiding it through the first part of the book. I found Maddie's character to be strong at first but towards the end I wanted to shake her. I really did enjoy this book though and would recommend it to others.

My Loving Husband started out with us questioning if Maddie's husband a renowned neurosurgeon (hello Derek Shepard) is cheating on her. Maddie receives a mysterious text about her husband cheating and plotting to kill her, this proceeds to ignite the fire for the rest of the book. Told in dual perspectives of Maddie, Cole (husband) and their oldest daughter Ellie. This is more a domestic suspense story I would find rather then a thriller. The twist I caught early on but as this is a domestic suspense I wasn't expecting a big reveal or twists to change the story up. This is all about how the choices you make affect the people around you. Its a story of family and telling the truth. I did find myself rather bored until the end. I wanted the story to wrap up as I felt it was a bit drawn out. A bit more character development would have made this story a bit more believable as well. Overall it was a good story to curl up with and get away from my own problems into someone else's problems! lol

My Loving Husband is such a brilliant psychological thriller that I ended up reading it in one sitting. It’s one of those books you will not be able to put down once you start it. Well I certainly couldn’t I was that engrossed in each chapter. I love a book with unexpected twists and this one had plenty of them. Of course I was sure I had it all sussed about half way through and was feeling quite proud of myself but I was completely wrong, I love this in a book when I think I know the outcome but the author has tricked me . This book had me in a head spin at times and I found myself not knowing who to trust or believe. From start to finish this was a perfect psychological thriller that pushed all the buttons for this genre

Thank goodness I read this book in the sunshine, which was the perfect antidote to Sheryl Browne’s latest psychological thriller.

Sheryl is a go to author for me and I jumped at the chance of an early read without reading anything about the book beforehand.

Imagine you’re part of a happily married couple and then every moral and value you’ve based your family life on is tried and tested - the very foundation of family life rocked on its axis.

This was an absolutely intense read that pulled at the heart strings, it is a multi-faceted story that centres around the family. Maddie props up the family, wife of Cole and mother to three gorgeous children - Ellie and twins Jayden and Lucas. They are used to the long and unpredictable hours that Cole works as a neurosurgeon, it is the norm, the status quo of their lives, accepted and never questioned until Maddie starts to get some very strange messages at the same time as Ellie starts to retreat into herself both of which makes Maddie begin to question everything she thought was true.

Sheryl Browne has pitched the tempo of this book like a storm rising in the ocean with the waves gently rolling in until they are crashing the beach in the wildest storm imaginable. It was ironic that I was sat in the sun near a surfers beach whilst reading this book! My opinion of the characters alternated between loving them to disliking them immensely and everything inbetween. there are so many twists and turns with the characters and their lives inter-twined, some obvious, others I had no clue about. It was definitely an adrenaline rush read for me,

This is another book that built momentum, I found myself reading quicker wanting to get to the end in order to get to the truth! Another Sheryl Browne story where a happy, connected family become separate entities repelled from each other like magnets. A twisted story that has reality at the heart of it - so many incidents and things that makes everyone question the truth. Keyboard warriors tapping out their poison, through and lies so intrinsically entwined it was impossible to know who to trust or what to belief.

Thank you so much Sheryl for writing another totally absorbing read that fully engaged my vivid imagination and sense of judgement - a story that once again shook my values to the core. Oh to open up your mind and look inside, I’m not sure where you get your inspiration and I think I probably don’t want to know either.

I read a lottt of domestic thrillers, so it takes something extra to really keep me on edge—but this one delivered.

From the outside, Cole seems like the golden husband: a successful surgeon, picture-perfect family, the works. But from the very beginning, you can feel that something’s...off. And then comes *that* anonymous message: “Your husband is planning to kill you.” Uh, what!?

I was hooked. Just when I thought I had a handle on where it was going, the story flipped again. It’s twisty, unsettling, and taps into that creeping fear of not really knowing the people closest to you.

4 stars from me—definitely enjoyed the ride. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!

I am a seasoned reader of Sheryl Browne, this is my 10th book by her, and she never lets me down and once again she definitely didn’t with this book. Completely deserved 5 stars…. What a story!!

Cole Chase is an eminent specialist Neurosurgeon and thought very highly of at the hospital he works at. Maddie, his wife, is very proud of him, and they are still very much in love even after being married for 18 years. With their three children, Ellie and twins Jayden and Lucas, Maddie feels they have built a good life together. However, when one night when Cole is working later due to an emergency at work, Maddie gets a WhatsApp message from an unknown number saying, “Are you sure your husband is where he says he is tonight?” and then a few days later a phone call saying, “He’s lying, Be careful”, Maddie starts to worry. When Maddie raises both the message and phone call Cole easily dismisses them both as just a hoax or crank caller but then a more sinister message arrives saying, “Do you realise your husband is planning to kill you?”. Cole starts to behave strangely but before Maddie has the chance to talk to him about these further messages, phone calls and his strange behaviour, he gets a call from his mother saying she’s had to call an ambulance as his father isn’t well. His father and he haven’t had a good relationship as he was emotional and physically abusive, not only to Cole’s mother, but to Cole as well. Despite the conflict of interest, he ends up in theatre with his father trying to save his life. Unfortunately, Cole’s father dies, and an investigation is launched which means Cole’s career is on the line. At the same time Maddie discovers evidence that seems to point to Cole cheating on her…. When Cole’s mistress starts sending Maddie death threats, Maddie feels she has no choice but to go to the police and report her for herself and her children’s sake. With Cole, Maddie and their children’s life in tatters what other secrets will come out now the police are involved?! And is Maddie getting the full story about Cole’s infidelity?!

What a great read this was! I absolutely adored hearing the story from the different characters, I really felt for Ellie and would have happily punched Luke for her. It’s amazing how Sheryl Browne can make me have such feelings about a completely fictional character, brilliant writing. I also loved the characters of both Ellie and Maddie; Ellie because, being a teenager still trying to find her way into adulthood, she behaved very maturely and I loved her mum Maddie, for trying her very best to keep her family together and protect her three children at all costs. I was suspicious about one character right from the very beginning however I did find myself flipflopping over whether I thought they were bad or not, and I enjoyed that as I wanted to be surprised. All the theories that I came up with were totally wrong and this shows just how good a job Sheryl Browne did.

Overall, another smashing story from Sheryl Browne, she did an excellent job and deserves nothing less than 5 stars for this read. I highly recommend this for any psychological thriller fans, you will not be disappointed!

Thank you to NetGalley, Sheryl Browne and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out now.
