After her estranged twin Chiara goes missing at the end of a "mommy influencer" summit, her shocked, grieving and decidedly non-maternal sister Adrienne decides to go undercover at the same summit the following year in an attempt to find out really happened to Chiara.
Somebody has to. Because it's not like the police or Chiara's DH (aka Dear Husband) as Adrienne scathingly refers to her brother in law are doing such a great job following up on the case!
But formidable as she is, this time Adrienne may have bitten off more than she can chew...
Combining black humour in its observation of the media obsessed world we inhabit with poignant patience about sisterhood, family dynamics and unresolved guilt, this book offers not only entertainment but also insight into the world of mothers, sisters, and society's unreasonable expectations of the various roles that women undertake. It does contain some graphic violence and is decidedly over the top at the end, but may appeal to the dark side of some female readers in particular. It gets 3.5 stars.

This was one crazy thriller! The ending was so intense and pretty shocking. The audio was great and you definitely didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

About the book 👇🏽
After her twin sister, Chiara, goes missing at a mom-fluencer weekend, Adrienne Shaw will find her no matter what it takes. They may have been on the outs, but no one comes for her sister and gets away with it.
It's been a year, the authorities have no answers, and her brother-in-law is useless in the matter. It's time for Adrienne to take the case into her own hands. Following in Chiara's last footsteps, Adrienne goes undercover, infiltrating the same influencer retreat as the last thing she wants to be: an Instamommy.
The remote ranch in Northern California is certainly welcoming--in a cult-adjacent kind of way. A charismatic leader, communal crafts, fixed smiles--and a lot of dead eyes.
Going on gut instinct and chasing a wild theory--that Chiara came here and never left--Adrienne is determined to uncover the truth before the too-perfect-to-believe women figure out who Adrienne really is: a threat to be eliminated.
🧨 My thoughts:
Five whole stars! Oh wow wow wow the audiobook was INCREDIBLE!! I physically read and listened to the audiobook and I loved them equally. There’s something about the influencer, culty, mom tropes that just do it for me. It’s always the perfect mashup and Follow Me did NOT disappoint. This was eerily relatable and infuriatingly addicting. I could not put it down once I started it. I am in shock that I haven’t seen this one all over the internet… it fits the bill for a hit. That firework scene was absolutely diabolical and I loved it! If you love culty reads that have flawed characters, unhinged shenanigans, and sister bonds… you need to read this one! I can’t recommend this one enough. Follow Me is out NOW!
Happy reading 📖🧨📱

This story kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. And enjoy trying to figure it out

Follow Me is a razor-sharp, darkly delightful twist on the world of mommy influencers, blending biting satire with unexpected heart. Elizabeth Rose Quinn peels back the curated perfection of social media motherhood to reveal a gripping, sometimes chilling narrative that keeps you hooked. With a keen eye for the absurdities of online performance, she skewers influencer culture while still managing to humanize her characters in surprising ways. The story delivers twisty suspense and emotional depth in equal measure, making it both a clever social commentary and an engrossing page-turner. A must-read for fans of smart thrillers with something to say.

Follow Me is a highly satirical mystery/thriller. I did feel like it focused a lot on that aspect and not enough on the mystery/thriller part of it. I felt underwhelmed in that aspect of the storyline. The plot and unraveling of it was a little confusing and I am still a little unsure as to why it all happened, the motivations behind it. It was hard to connect with the characters on my end as well, they felt very one dimensional.
Overall, I wanted this book to be either satirical or thriller, not both. I felt it was doing half of each; it ended up not working out for me in this particular story.

Rating: 3.5 stars
Heathers meets The Stepford Wives is basically my love language, so I went into Follow Me with high hopes. The setup had everything I love—missing sister, momfluencers, culty vibes, secrets behind manicured smiles—and while the book mostly delivered on the entertainment factor, it leaned a little too far into the absurd for me to fully buy into it as a thriller.
The premise is juicy: Adrienne, trying to find her missing twin sister, infiltrates an influencer retreat full of dead-eyed Instamommies and Pinterest-perfect creepiness. The whole thing felt like a sharp satire of curated online personas mixed with a pulpy mystery, which I was so here for. But as the story progressed, it started to feel more like a campy fever dream than a suspenseful whodunit.
That said, it was a fun, easy listen—perfect for when you want something dark, fast-paced, and not too heavy. The audiobook narrator brought the characters to life and nailed the tone, which helped carry me through even the more outlandish moments.
If you’re in the mood for something that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still serves up cults, conspiracies, and a healthy dose of dark humor, this might just be your thing.

I ATE THIS UP! (Potentially) murderous mommy vloggers? Sign me up! Follow Me was captivating, un=put-down-able, and still managed to explore the monstrous web of patriarchy women, and moms in particular, are navigating.

After her sister goes missing at a mum-fluencer event, Adrienne decides her best chance to find out what really happened is to clean up her act and infiltrate the hoard of insta-mummies and their holiday themed, meticulously planned, exclusive event.

‘Follow me’ is told in two POVs but split down the middle of the book; the first half of Chiara and the second half of her twin sister, Adrienne. You travel down a similar path with both sisters but each tinting the journey with their own life experiences, beliefs and prejudices. There’s a juxtaposition of contrasts that tell the story that’s being told but also the story of the person telling it.
The dark, satirical comedy mixes influencer-mummy drama with campy-slasher vibes in a fast paced, social commentary of the complexities of motherhood without community.
Adrienne’s character arc was stunning; she went from the most unlikeable, insufferable type of immature to responsible and caring and resourceful. It was an unhinged journey but she’s grown and she turns up and that counts for a lot.
The ending is a little over the top but I think that’s entirely the point; for these women, if it’s not over the top, it’s not worth doing. The entire book is commentary on the “performance” of motherhood in social media so of course the villain reveal was going to be a performance, very on brand don’t you think?

What a crazy ride this book was! When Chiara goes missing at a momfluencer retreat, a year later police has no clues. Chiara's husband seem to let the grief consume him, and the only person still fighting to find Chiara is her twin sister Adrienne.
Even though this novel is classified as dark humor, I would call it a full blown thriller. It did have some elements of humor, but overall it was a crazy fast-paced rollercoaster with quite a horror-ful ending. I was totally unprepared for the darkness of the last few chapters!
But... This novel was not all about just thrills and chills, the story of imperfect sisterly love was what captivated me the most. Two troublemaker sisters, one growing into a mom of twins, desperately trying to be a perfect mother and leave her wild girl past behind; another still searching for her true self, jealous of her twin and hating their crumbling relationship. But Chiara's disappearance changed all that, and it was incredible to watch Adrienne transform before my eyes when she began to immerse herself in her sister's world. Exposure of the negativity of influencer culture is a great theme in this book as well.
This was very touching, very emotional book on many levels, with so much depth. I most definitely enjoyed the thrill, mystery and suspense of this novel, but the story of two sisters was unforgettable. Another killer debut!!

I usually love a good dark comedy laced with satire. This book just a lot though.
The momstagram culture rang true, but this story just felt so far fetched, even from the very beginning.
Extra star for unique story line, but all in all this read wasn’t what I thought or wanted it to be.
Thank you netgalley for the arc.

Chiara, mother of twins, has become part of the "momfluencer" online community. She has sought refuge and comfort in the online community, in just dealing with the everyday things that occur. Chiara enters a contest and wins a free pass to a "momfluencer" weekend retreat. Chiara doesn't return home. Adrienne, her estranged twin, is determined to get answers. She has been relentlessly keeping the police detective assigned to Chiara's case searching for clues. Adrienne decides to buy a pass for the upcoming "momfluencer" retreat. Things really heat up after Adrienne gets to the retreat. This was a great satirical look at the world of online influencers and the extremes that some people go to "live the dream".
Thank you to Brillance Publishing, Brilliance Audio, and Thomas & Mercer, for the ALC. The narrator, Brittany Pressley, was great!

This is a fun and disturbing take on what the inside of being a Mommy influencer, or any social media influencer for that matter, can really turn into. I personally love the dark humor and enjoyed the over the top saccarine sweetness and pure absurdity of Thea and the ‘Mommy Squad. It’s nothing thought provoking or mind bending that’s for sure, but it is light and dark at the same time. Total carnage ensues and I love how over the top it all was!
Thank you to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for this advanced audiobook.

I loved this!
For starters it’s a fast paced, dramatic pop corn thriller that’s quick, easy and entertaining to read.
Secondly the main character is extremely likeable and relatable, a recent mother of twins who is floundering to survive motherhood and accidentally goes viral on social media thrusting her into the world of “influencers” and ends up on a retreat for an army of “mommies” who you just know are going to be cliquey and unhinged 😂
I won’t give any more away but I’d recommend reading!

Alright, so I just finished "Follow Me" by Elizabeth Rose Quinn, and honestly, I'm sitting here with a bit of a mixed bag of feelings. I'm really torn between a 2 and a 4 star rating, so I'm settling on a solid 3.
Let's start with the good stuff: the plot. It was genuinely gripping! Quinn crafted a really interesting mystery, and I found myself flipping pages late into the night, eager to see how it all unfolded. The twists and turns were well-executed, and the pacing kept me engaged. If you're looking for a suspenseful read that will keep you guessing, this book delivers.
However, and this is a big "however," I really struggled with the characters. I just... didn't connect with them. They felt a bit flat and, at times, even unlikable. I found myself rolling my eyes at some of their decisions and dialogue. It's a shame, because a strong cast of characters can really elevate a story, and in this case, I felt they held it back a bit.
It's such a frustrating situation, because the potential was definitely there. The plot had me hooked, but the lack of connection to the characters made it hard to fully immerse myself in the story. So, if you're someone who prioritizes a compelling plot over character development, you might enjoy "Follow Me" more than I did. But if you're like me and need to really like the people you're reading about, you might find yourself a little disappointed. Ultimately, it was a solid, middle-of-the-road read for me.

Premise - Adrienne’s twin sister, Chiara, disappears after winning tickets to a momfluencer weekend. Adrienne is a rough and tumble former addict, not at all the momfluencer type, but desperate to find out what happened to her sisters disappearance she buy the pricey tickets and attends the following year’s event.
‘Heathers’ meets ‘Stepford Wives’ sold this for me and it’s an apt description! I had so much fun reading about all the momfluencer madness, but I also felt on edge the whole time - cheerleader effect or no, these women were scary.
Quinn’s voice is confiding, intimate, comfortable - it felt like listening to a close friend recount a wild experience. Paired with excellent pacing, I couldn’t tear myself away! If you like cult stories and/or social commentary, this is a treat.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Brittany Pressley. Pressley delivered a really engaging read, with distinct, interesting, personality-rich characters that took the people the text created and added color. I’ll definitely look out for more of Pressley’s work and recommend this format for this story!
