I loved this! Don’t waste your time reading reviews, if you enjoy sweet love stories, brother’s friend, age gap, and happy endings go read this! Right now! 😁

- [ ] This is an ARC Review. I want to thank Leah Brunner and LBP LLC for allowing me the chance to read this book ahead of release day! This is such a good wholesome read! I love this is a book with an older FMC who also just happens to have health issues. I can see how readers could easily connect with Farrah one way or another. The slow burn effect within this book is perfect. I’m not usually a slow burn loving reader but with the first kiss out the way so early it made me yearn for more Farrah and Bruce moments. Getting pieces of the friends group as a whole it was great to see them carried over to this book as well and how each character truly brings in a different dynamic to the group.
“And let me tell you, people who say they love working out are big, fat liars. Or skinny, fit liars, I guess.”

I loved this so much. Farrah and Bruce had a journey to find their way together. I love Farrah because she rightfully was protecting her heart. She honestly was never to over the top dramatic or unreasonable she was 100 percent real. Bruce was one of a kind. He stood by her and I love that about him he was a caretaker. Just enough of everything for me to love this one. Where can I get my own WAG jacket?!?!

It was a cute read. Slowburn vibes for sure. Farrah could be so stubborn and frustrating but I understood where she came from because of her past relationship. Bruce was so sweet and patient with her. Would recommend if you like slowburn, tension, and no spice.

I’ve been waiting rather impatiently for Bruce and Farrah’s story, and it did not disappoint! Leah Brunner definitely saved the best for last in this final story in the DC Eagles Hockey series. Bruce has been showing up more and more in the books, and during Ford/Remy and Amber’s book, we’re left with a cliff hanger between Bruce and Ford’s sister Farrah. They clearly have some kind of a past…but what happened?
The chemistry between Bruce and Farrah is off the charts, but the best part of this book is the gentle kindness with which Bruce approaches her. There’s something that is just so sexy about a man who knows how to be patient and WAIT for something that is worth waiting for. I love the way that he steadfastly supports her while she works through the emotional trauma caused by her former husband. Bruce is just so kind, and that is why we root for him when he’s working to win Farrah’s heart.
Tropes Include:
- Best friend’s sister
- Older FMC/Younger MMC (but only by a few years)
- Hockey players!
- Baggage from a divorce
- Hidden romance/sneaking a little bit
- He falls first and hardest!
This is a great end to a really fun series, and I adored it!

I absolutely loved this one. The chemistry was off the charts and the emotional load was awesome - as expected in a prohibited love.
This is a closed door romance, with a very flirty MMC who has fallen hard for the FMC and doesn't give up. He is patient with her and fights for something he knows will be good and last forever.
The FMC goes through some episodes of PCOS and it's heartbreaking, but so heartwarming when we see MMC take care of her.
The team's bond and family is a wonderful thing to see, they support one another and are there when you need them.
A fast and easy read. Watch out for the triggers in this one if you're triggered by infertility problems.
This is not a book for the clean audience.

I am a fan of Leah Brunner. This is a cute romcom. Believable characters with depth. Sweet storyline. Similar to other stories but feels fresh. Definitely recommend this closed door romance.

I read this in less than 24 hours and absolutely ate it up!!!! I love a hockey romance, I love the found family, and I loved the romance in this book. I’ve been waiting for this couple since I finished Betrothal or Breakaway and it was everything I hoped for!!! The perfect amount of pining, angst, but no spice. I absolutely love this closed door series and highly recommend!!
