Thanks for the advanced readers copy. I was not able to get into this one, so I won't be proving a review on social media.
Kenna is normal, which should be a good thing, but not if nearly everyone you know has superpowers. But Kenna isn't powerless and this book explores Kennas journey into finding out that life isn't black and white; good isn't always good, and evil isn't always evil.
This started off strong and was pretty much non stop throughout. Filled with action, suspense, danger and even a little romance, it was a nice, quick, easy read. The characters were all well written and developed. Kenna was an awesome heroine because even though she felt useless she still used her brain and spunk to deal with things. The ending made me excited for the next one!!
In all, a good read. I haven't read anything by either authors before so I must check out some of their other works.
Not interested anymore and probably would never pick this up in real life. Haven't heard good things.
I really enjoyed Kenna's story. She is a powerless girl in a world of superheros and villains. Kenna's attitude is great about it though. Her best friend, Rebel is a super and they share everything. At least that is what Kenna believes. To her, the world is good vs. evil so Heros vs. Villains. She had never thought it could be any other way, until she meets a certain Villain.
Her mother is an amazing scientist who tries her best to keep Kenna safe. I liked all the characters in this story. Kenna's transformation is amazing as the story goes along. The author did a great job with making the book so engrossing that you don't ever want to put it down. There is action from the beginning to the ending (cliff-hanger).
It was a 4/5 for me. I really liked the characters (so much so that I bought the second book already).
Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book (via Netgalley). I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
