Wow, I loved this series! I’m way sad to learn that this is the last book. Author Chad Morris has taken me on a grand adventure and I don’t want to leave this amazing world.
This book is really great! I love how fast moving the plot is. The heroes of this book Derek, Abby, Rafa and Carol are getting ready for the annual Race event at Cragbridge Hall. The stakes are very high for our heroes because the prize has become one of their grandfather’s super secret keys. They must stop the secret from getting out at all costs. And it’s completely up to them, because their grandfather, parents, and many of the adults that they know they can trust are all still in a coma because of their grandfather’s enemy Charles Muns. They must build a team of kids they can trust and who will have the necessary skills to win the Race, is it even possible?
I love the characters in this book, they are well-written and I feel as though they could walk off the pages of this book and I would know them. I love the lessons that the kids, especially Abby learns. I feel like so many times girls characters are written that actually can hurt the self-image of girl readers. Abby is not at all like that, in fact, she’s been learning throughout this whole series that she is important, that she has a place, and that she is a valued member of a team. I really like that.
This book left me longing for more from Cragbridge Hall. Maybe, just maybe Chad Morris would be willing to return there, at least I hope so!
While I found The Impossible Race to be an interesting book-I did find myself confused at times as I had not realized it was the third book and hadn't read the previous two books. It is a race that is worth running, and I couldn't stop turning the pages. I honestly didn't expect what happened at the end. I couldn't see how the kids were going to come out on top, but they did and the ending was very fitting. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great adventure.
