Quick and easy romance read. I was excited for this one as a civil engineer and was easily going to overlook any inconsistencies (e.g. underwater inspectors are mostly desk-based for the first year or so, it’s a big job for a new grad etc) but I’m weak for characters like Sinan so it’s okay.

The romancd development was rather abrupt, which made it feel a little jarring but this is just like candy for me.

Kebabs and Kisses is the third book in Sheri Tyler’s Destination Wedding series. First off I have to say I love whoever does Tyler’s covers. They are gorgeous. Now, despite being a series each can be read as a standalone. In Kebabs we follow Kendra as she attends her sister’s wedding in Turks and Caicos. And when Sonya (Kendra’s sister) sets her up with Sinan, romance is in the air. This is a sweet, funny, and heartwarming romance while also tackling real world family issues. I’d like to thank Flowers and Fullerton, LLC and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an eARC of Kebabs and Kisses.

This book offers a breezy, heartwarming escape, filled with witty banter, endearing mishaps, and just enough chemistry to keep the pages turning. The love interest is suitably charming, with enough depth to make their dynamic engaging, even if some of their conflicts feel a bit predictable.

While the book excels in humor and sweet moments, the protagonist’s personal growth occasionally takes a backseat to the romantic plot. A deeper exploration of their emotional journey could have added more weight to their happily-ever-after.

That said, the supporting cast adds plenty of fun, and the romantic tension is well-paced, making it easy to root for the central couple. The writing is light and engaging, perfect for readers looking for a feel-good story with a few laughs along the way. If you don’t mind a little predictability and enjoy banter-filled romance, this book is a charming pick—just don’t expect too much introspection between the meet-cutes and grand gestures.

This was such a lovely romance with much of it set on a tropical island where I could always feel the heated sand beneath my toes. Kendra and Sinan both have difficult pasts that they are trying to leave behind and they both bring that past into their new relationship. Kendra is burnt by family betrayal and only has her sister Sonia on her side. Sinan has an ex in his past and they are both struggling hard to see how to move forward. As the nastiness of their past impacts their current lives, this is where the sweet romance really comes into its own. This is a hopeful book with strong leads and is a great tale.

Thank you NetGalley & Sheri Tyler for this ARC. It was a very cute and quick read. I finished this in a few hours and thought it was okay. Not really for me.

i never want to hear a bad word about "these types" of books. because the cynic in me was lost to them a very long time ago. they hold so much heart and depth to them. far more than they are given credit for.
sometimes they are too much though, and i mean that in the best way! because i get far to involved and cant bear for our romance to not end in the way it needs to for the two character in love!

Kendra and Tyler were excellent characters. clearly fell in love. but they have things in their life which meant they didnt know whether they could be together. they both had their own doubts. they both had their own family dynamics which were tricky to say the least.
but they were so in love. and it felt real. it felt portrayed just right. the care for each other and the doubts they both had was done brilliantly. the fun, witty and gorgeous moment between the too were both lovely and cute.
the depth of this novel and the two just shone from the pages. it was so much more than the sweet romance i expected. and i got even a little caught up with the emotions of it at times.
this is an excellent book and for those who love the genre i cant recommend it enough.
i dont want to give too much away in the review as in content wise because i think loving this book will happen so much better if you meet these two and their stories on your own. and get to love them and their stories fresh.

One of the book’s greatest strengths is its emotional depth. The characters are not just thrown into a romance—they evolve, face personal struggles, and learn from each other. The slow-burn tension, witty banter, and tender moments make their connection feel organic and compelling.

Kebabs and Kisses is the third book in the Destination Wedding trilogy, but easily a stand alone read.

Kendra is at a fabulous vacation destination wedding of her sister's in Turks and Caicos when she re-meets Sinan, and it's an explosive reunion. They have a wonderful time at the wedding and a lingering romance begins - but because of family dynamics, they decide to keep it to themselves until they figure out if it's a vacation fling or the real thing. The real world intrudes and disasters bring them together again.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

Sheri Tyler’s Kebabs and Kisses delivers a swoon-worthy romance wrapped in humor, heart, and the kind of family complications that make love all the more complicated—and rewarding. At its core, this book is about navigating the tricky waters of love when two people come from vastly different financial backgrounds and family experiences.

Kendra Gambit is a fiercely independent civil engineer who worked her way through college and still feels the lingering anxiety of financial struggle. Her world is one of careful budgeting, hard-earned stability, and an ingrained fear of ever depending on anyone else. On the other side of the spectrum is Sinan Bachar, a neurosurgeon with a trust fund—one who has never had to wonder if he could afford rent, insurance, or an unexpected car repair. Though Sinan is kind, thoughtful, and never flaunts his wealth, the difference between them is undeniable, and Kendra’s discomfort with that gap becomes one of the book’s strongest emotional threads.

Tyler does an excellent job portraying Kendra’s internal struggle. She’s not resentful of Sinan’s privilege, but she’s wary of what it means for their relationship. Does he truly understand her experiences? Can she be with someone whose financial reality is so different from her own without losing herself in the process? These are real, relatable concerns, and Kendra’s hesitation makes perfect sense. The power imbalance isn’t just theoretical—when someone has money to fall back on, decisions are made differently, and Kendra isn’t sure how to reconcile that with her own hardwired need for self-sufficiency.

Sinan, for his part, is far from the oblivious rich guy stereotype. He recognizes Kendra’s concerns, even when he doesn’t always know how to address them. And while he can’t change the fact that he comes from money, he makes it clear that his feelings for Kendra have nothing to do with her financial status. What makes their relationship work is his willingness to listen, adapt, and support her without trying to “fix” things with his wealth.

Beyond the financial differences, Kebabs and Kisses excels at weaving in family drama that adds layers of tension and depth to the romance. Kendra’s father, Jimmy, is a constant source of stress, using manipulation and threats in his attempts to extort money from her and her sister. His actions go beyond simple meddling—he actively tries to sabotage Kendra’s stability, sending cryptic messages (including a particularly creepy taxidermied raccoon) and pushing boundaries that force her to take legal action.

On the other hand, Sinan’s family is an entirely different challenge. His mother has always envisioned a more “suitable” partner for him, and while she isn’t overtly cruel, her disapproval of Kendra lingers in the background. This dynamic adds another obstacle to their relationship—one that is less overtly dangerous than Jimmy but still emotionally taxing.

Kebabs and Kisses is more than just a romance—it’s a story about trust, independence, and learning to let someone in, even when every instinct says to go it alone. With its sharp wit, heartfelt moments, and compelling exploration of class and family expectations, it’s a must-read for anyone who loves romance with emotional depth and a side of perfectly grilled kebabs.

First off this book needs another round of edits as I found a whole bunch of mistakes. Secondly I dnf’d it at 34% because I didn’t like his ex being such a major part of the book, it gave me the ick. Sorry
