Thank you so much (NetGalley/publisher/author) for allowing me to read this great book in exchange for an honest unbiased review and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to review it but I wanted to read the other books in the series before reading this one.
This is the fifth book in the Master's of the Cats series and in it we learn about Betsys story. Although it's not a deal breaker if you haven't read the prior books in the series I would say that it would be a good idea to do so in order to have a basic understanding of the Workings of the world in which 3 male mates to one woman is the norm.
Trinity's writing is so captivating it makes you as the reader want to read the book. The way she writes the characters and general story line makes you feel connected to each character in some way whch keeps you reading. I love the way that although this book focuses on Betsy Dee's little sister it still carrys on the base storyline from the prior books so you get to see what happening to all the other characters as well as learn about their relationships with Betsy, and her long lost children once they've found them. It was great how when she found each of her children the both seemed to instinctively know she was their mother even though they had been taken away from her as babies.
It was "interesting" learning about the abuse Betsy had experienced at the hands of her father growing up and the sensitive almost loving way Trinity wrote about it made what was a hard subject to read a lot more accessible for the reader as well as providing more background as to why she is as she is.
Knowing her background also made it more understandable why she was so apprehensive to get involved in a relationship with her mates, which is why it was so endearing that her mates were willing to take things so slowly and spend the time showing her what it is to love and be loved.
This is a book that I would /will recommend to anyone who enjoys books about anything paranormal as it's full of shapeshiftrers, demons and things from other planets, where there into bdsm or not; as the bdsm parts of the story are dealt with in a very sensitive consentual way. I enjoyed this book and the previous ones so much I cant wait to read the rest of the series.
