Almost Dead is the fifth book in the Lizzy Gardner series by T.R. Ragan. In this book, Lizzy is still reeling from the shooting of her fiancé, Jared, on their wedding day. She is determined to find the person who did this to him, even if it means putting her life in danger.
As Lizzy investigates, she uncovers a dark secret from Jared's past. Someone is out for revenge, and they are not afraid to kill anyone who gets in their way. Lizzy must use her skills to stop this killer before it's too late.
Almost Dead is a fast-paced thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ragan's writing is sharp and suspenseful, and the characters are well-developed and relatable. The only downside is the ending is a bit predictable but still entertaining. If you're a fan of crime thrillers, then you'll want to check out Almost Dead.
Unfortunately I missed the first books in the series and feel that it would have helped to have read those first.
A dark, emotionally charged story full of suspense. A series of murders, kidnapping add intrigue and mystery.
Almost Dead is the first book in the Lizzy Gardner series that I've ever read, and I was pleasantly surprised by this thriller. The pace of the story was quite fast, which resulted in the book being a page-turner. The story was quite exciting as well. If you enjoy reading thrillers, I'd recommend Almost Dead.
I received an ARC of this novel thanks to the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review. My thanks for the opportunity.
A cleverly written fast paced murder-mystery with central character, Lizzy Gardner. We are thrown into the story when Shelby, a young high school girl that Lizzy has mentored, is missing. A chemist snaps and seeks revenge, an old enemy comes back from the past to seek retribution from Lizzy, pure bred dogs are being stolen, and a someone sets out to defraud an insurance company. These are the cases the Lizzy Gardner Team are working on. This story is one adrenaline rush.
