A superb book that describes orchestral instruments and shows highly imaginative paintings of animals playing them. The author spent more than sixty years playing viola in orchestras, chamber music, as a soloist and as a teacher. This book reflects his great experience and presents the facts and descriptions in a detailed manner, complete with some humorous reflections on the practicality of playing particular instruments. I really enjoyed this book and believe it is a great way for anyone to learn about the different instruments - and some very basic facts about animals, too! I particularly liked the links to specific pieces of music related to each instrument.
