"Who Is That Smurf?" is a fun, new take on the Smurfs. French artist, Tebo, takes control of these beloved blue creatures with a looser cartoon style, but the story feels like a classic Smurf tale. This book will definitely appeal to people who grew up with the Smurfs as well as younger children just beginning their own Smurf adventures.

The Smurfs took me back to my childhood of Saturday morning cartoons and would be a great way to connect my childhood stories to a new generation of children!

a cute, fun adventure for old and new fans
a smurf with no memory falls off a smurf hut roof and into a mysterious adventure to find his true self
he doesnt speak smurf
the other smurfs dont know who he is
with original smurf characters the mystery turns into a quest to find out if Gargamel is involved, he always is

A wacky Smurf adventure with fun art and hopefully the start of a series.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC.

The story has a lot of adventure in it. Some of the words used are alittle hard for younger readers. Example would be the use of the word enunciate. I personally would not buy or read this book. I grew up with the smurfs. Seeing the in graphic novel form (anime -based) is a turn off for someone that loved the oringal cute form of the smurfs. Also I think the use of the work "smurf" for noun, adverbs, verbs and possibly cuss words is a little much. I think the use of the "smurfin'" word might be little too much. Color and illustration is good and exciting.

A classic story in classic comic format. The text and images are pretty much what you'd expect. This will do well with our many conservative patrons who like throwback things and rely on the old TinTin comics.
Thank you for the ARC. I will purchase.

The art work was adorable and really worked together with the text to tell the story. Simple story with a twist at the end that was expected of a smurf book. Thank you Netgalley for the read.

When I smurfed this smurf on Smurf, I immediately smurfed- Ah, let me switch to English. When I saw this graphic novel passing by, I really wanted to read it. I love the Smurfs and the story sounded very fun, and the art style on the cover looked very good.
I can say that I had such a good time reading this! I liked how the story unfolded. It was very fun, and even had a plot twist I didn’t see coming. It made the adventure even more exciting, I said a "Wait, what?" out loud!
An important factor in bringing the story to life was -of course- the art style. That did not disappoint either. The illustrations were so charming and captured the fun, smurfable nature of the Smurfs perfectly. The Smurfs were adorable, and I loved how their personalities came through in the writing and the artwork. (I'm a big Smurfs fan, so that is really important for me!)
I definitely recommend this, no matter if you're a longtime fan or new to the Smurfs. This is such a fun read filled with adventure.

This was my first entry into the world of Smurf comics, and I have to admit I really smurfed it. Sorry, couldn't resist but in all seriousness, I really enjoyed it and I'm pretty sure this will start me on the road to reading many more Smurf comics. It was fun and adorable in the best ways and made me feel like a like a younger version of myself watching the Smurf cartoons.
Special Thanks to Papercutz and Netgalley for the digital ARC. This was given to me for an honest review.
