Handfasting, Kidnapping, Clans, Family
This shocking story starts out with the conclusion of Kenan's sister's wonderful wedding.
Just when you think you are going to read about a happy clan situation all heck breaks loose, and Kenan troubles have only just started.
His flying machine is now crumbling into the sea along with a beautiful lass with golden hair and he needs to rescue her right now!
This story only gets more intense as the two strangers meet and Tierney needs to initiate her first plan right now!  If plan #1 doesn't work, she has more to try 2, 3, or 4.
This story only gets more involved as we learn about Tiers plans to save her clan and she can't do it without the big brave clan chief Kenan.
Attraction is certainly present and plays a big role in the rest of this nerve-wracking exciting story that is filled with humorous banter, wildly laughable bedroom scenes that are like riding a wave to oblivion. I suggest you have your fan ready.
This is a big intense emotional story that is more than just a simple love story.

The Highlander's Fallen Angel by Heather McCollum
Book 2 of the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for entrusting me with this early copy.

Historical romance
Dual POV, she k!dn@ps him, enemies to lovers, feminine rage, clever FMC with schemes, cinnamon roll MMC who doesn't like to be called nice, both have traumatic backstories, politics

Tierney is desperate to convince Kenan to help her and her people. But just how far will she go? When her initial plan fails, her backup plan is to take Kenan and chain him up until he agrees to pretend to wed her to protect her from yet another abus!ve marriage. Kenan, besides being angry she was able to manage her plan, is unofficially betrothed to his friend's sister to continue furthering their alliance and plans to unite the highlands. This marriage would also prevent that calm from attacking his while they are still rebuilding from a fire. What will happen to that alliance if a breath of this fake marriage gets back to them?

This book had me starting out laughing with Tierney's plan and poor Kenan's stumbling into it. With Tierney's past, this book was a love letter to finding hope in relationships when @buse has been the norm before. Kenan was patient and steadfast and while he tried to stifle Tier helping to keep her out of danger, he quickly learned and accepted (grudgingly) that Tier will not be sidelined. Also, I loved Aunt Morag! She is a gem. This was an enjoyable book and had several reveals and perilous situations along the way that definitely kept things moving and interesting.

I very recently read a contemporary romance that was set on the island of Skye so it was so fun to get to revisit this setting in an entirely new way! I loved this cast of characters and the found family aspect of this story. Tierney is a strong, independent FMC who is bound and determined to save herself and her people. Shes not a damsel in distress but she does need a little help, and that’s where Kenan comes in. I love how we see Tierney confront her trauma and learn to trust through out this story. The plot and the warring clans provided a lot of intrigue. And Tierney’s many plans provided humor. Overall, a very entertaining and enjoyable historical romance!

I haven’t read a historical romance book in a really long time. My first international trip was to Scotland so I was intrigued with the highlands being the setting!! There was action, tension, romance, and some strong characters.

This is book 2 in a series of standalone historical romance books and it wasn’t necessary to read the first but I might just anyways. Loved the characters, the setting and the romance!

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the gifted e-arc.

Swooning in the Highlands: Kenan, Tierney, and All My Feelings 💚🔥

From the first page, The Highlander’s Angel pulled me in—and I didn’t want it to end. I kept stopping just to savor it longer. This book reminded me why I fell in love with historical romances in the first place. There’s just nothing like a Highlander in love. 💚

Tierney is everything. I love how single-minded and tenacious she is—drugging a full-grown man and practically kidnapping him? Iconic. She’s also brave and not afraid to be vulnerable, which made me love her even more. She’s clearly been burned before by marriage, and I was dying to know what happened to her in the past. 🔥

Kenan is chef’s kiss. I’m pretty sure he falls first, and I savored every single moment of it. He’s so kindhearted (the way he calls Maggie his daughter nearly broke me), and those swoony compliments? Dead. Even after being tricked, his protectiveness over Tierney never wavers. And the fact that he’s willing to break his alliance for her? I MELTED. Add in his “touch her and die” energy and the way he gives Tierney choices—ugh, perfection. 🌶️🔥

The slow build of tension and seduction between them is literally perfect. There’s a conscious effort on both sides to work through misunderstandings and communicate—it made everything feel so real and earned. Also… that bathtub scene? Whew.🤯

Aunt Morag deserves her own crown. She’s like the Downton Abbey grandmother if she were Scottish, hilarious, scheming, and somehow always one step ahead. Her POV chapter? Absolute joy. Her distractions and plans? Queen behavior. 👑

Kenan and Tierney are the blueprint for what I want in a relationship. This book gave me everything—romance, adventure, found family, and characters that feel like real people. Seriously, why does Kenan want the glider so badly? And more importantly, how do I get my own Highlander?

Thank you Entangled and Heather McCollum for the ARC!

Tierney and Kenan - love them. The love that evolves between them 💕💕 beautiful!

This is book 2 and now I need to read the first book too. However I wasn’t lost by not reading it first.

The balance between their love , dramatic pasts and all the hardships has the reader keeping interest. This has me all - action , humor , tad bit of dark and ROMANCE

I really enjoy this series and can't wait to read the next two books in the series, especially because Cyrus and Asher are the ones that I'm most intrigued by. But back to the story at hand!

Tier and Kenan are an interesting couple who definitely are thrown together in unconventional means. By the time that Tier is on her fourth plan of the day, it's clear that trouble is bound to happen, though you can't help but root for her happiness after all that Tier has survived. Kenan likewise is a survivor, though the book deals less with the after effects of his imprisonment than Tier's.

This is definitely plot heavy, which suits me just fine, as Heather McCollum always has really interesting action plotlines threaded through her series that really make them very engaging.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars! Loved this book! Heather McCollum is my favorite author, hands down! She writes such amazing books that have historical facts, lovable characters, strong female main characters and swoon worthy sexy times scenes! This is the second book in the ‘Brotherhood of Solway Moss’ series & can be read as a standalone but I think it would be better read in order. I read book one & absolutely loved that also. The main characters were Tierney & Kenan and I really liked both of them. Kenan wants to unite the Scottish Isles against England and Tierney wants help because another clan is trying to force her to marry. Steamy sexy times, strong female main character, sexy main male character, easy to hate evil bad guys, surprising moments, an HEA ending, and much more. Totally worth reading. I have nothing bad to say about this book. 100% recommend this series!

I have not read a historical romance in quite some time and the book filled that itch. Action, tension, romance, stubborn and strong characters, all set in the Highlands of Scotland. This is book 2 in s series of standalone in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series and once again it filled that itch to read a swoon worthy historical romance. Loved the characters, the setting and the romance! Somehow I missed book 1 and now, even though these are standalone stories, I will be going back and diving in.
Many thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for a gifted arc of this book. All opinions are my own.

The Highlander's Fallen Angel
Brotherhood of Solway Moss #2
Heather McCollum
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kenan MacDonald is once again taken captive and he just escaped from an English prison three months ago. Only this time he has been taken by a lass with green eyes. This slip of a lass snuck him a sleeping draught in a tart hoping that she could get the Highland chief to help her save her clan. And this lass can certainly tempt him into doing it if anyone can.

Tierney MacNicol is more than desperate. The poor woman is being forced into a marriage to a vicious brute who's determined to take over her clan. Her only hope of redemption is to find another Highland Chief to marry her and as fast as she can. But she knows convincing the chief of Clan McDonald isn't going to be easy. It's the last part of her plan that she knows will not be easy. She will have to seduce Kenan and get him to hand fast with her.

Tierney doesn't really have the best reputation. Usually she's rash and almost foolhardy but with her clan on the brink of destruction she just wants to do whatever it takes to protect the one she loves. And then there is the secret she's been hiding from Kenan. Tierney is willing to do what it takes even if it means all out war among the clans.

Heather McCullom is absolutely brilliant. I devoured this book like it was the best cheesecake I've ever eaten. And that says a lot. Tierney was incredible. She was so tough and took so many chances that I found myself holding my breath and cheering for her all the way. Kenan was your perfect Highlander. He gave up a marriage proposal that could have gotten him everything he needed just to help Tierney. As for Morag (Kenan's Aunt) she was incredible. The way she helped had me cheering for her as well. All in all this is one book you won't want to miss. This is Heather McCullom at her best doing what she loves. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I love stories where one of the MCs needs to overcome their trauma to be able trust and love again. There is something about that hope that’s just beautiful.

This was an incredibly passionate and swoony Highlander romance and I ate it up.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced, dreamy story with two equally wonderful characters, I highly recommend this one!

Before I pick up any book from this author I clear my schedule for a few hours because I know once I get going I'm not stopping until I read it cover to cover. She writes engaging plotlines that need to be binged.

"The Highlander's Fallen Angel" incorporated everything I have come to love about this author's storytelling and yet she still seemed to outdo herself because Kenan Macdonald certainly has become my new favorite Highlander.

I loved watching Kenan and Tierney's relationship develop and grow throughout this story. Both characters overcame many hard ships, their love story was an a journey to learning to trust and heal.

Definitely worth checking out and I can't wait to read more from this author in the future!

Another enjoyable read from Heather McCollum. The Highlander’s Fallen Angel sweeps you off your feet and transports you straight to the misty, wild Highlands of Scotland—where Tierney drugs and kidnaps the kind and fierce Kenan to help her save her home and prevent her from marrying a monster.

There are so many tender moments between the two of these characters. They both have to overcome their past traumas and while they are both strong in their own right, they learn what it means to have someone there supporting them.

A fake engagement, daring rescue mission, a witch, gliders, and alliances make this a fast read you can’t put down. Plus, there’s more of Aunt Morag and her crows.

Love to see a strong female main character who doesn’t need a man, but instead chooses to let the right one in.

The Highlanders' Fallen Angel by Heather McCollum is the second installment in the captivating Brotherhood of Solway Moss series. This tale delves into themes of trust, camaraderie, and resilience, all while weaving in elements of humor, heartache, and a blossoming romance between two deserving characters. Reuniting readers with beloved characters from the first book and introducing new faces (including a charming newt), this novel promises a rollercoaster of emotions that will have you laughing one moment and shedding tears the next. Kidnapping a Highlander to save your clan? Bold. Falling for him in the process? Inevitable.

The Highlander’s Fallen Angel by Heather McCollum is everything I want in a historical romance: high-stakes passion, fierce heroines, brooding warriors, and just enough chaos to keep the pages flying.

Tierney MacNicol is the kind of heroine I live for—clever, defiant, and willing to risk everything (including her reputation) to protect the people she loves. Trapped between a brutal marriage contract and the crumbling future of her clan, she takes matters into her own hands: drug the intimidating Highland chief Kenan Macdonald, drag him back to her home, and convince him to marry her. Casual.

Kenan, fresh off an English prison break and so done with being captured, is more than just a brawny warrior—he’s layered, loyal, and unexpectedly tender. Watching this gruff Highlander slowly unravel in the presence of Tierney’s fire and vulnerability? Utterly swoon-worthy. He’s everything a romance reader wants: strength without cruelty, desire without domination, and respect that feels earned.

The chemistry between them sizzles with slow-burn tension, banter, and so many moments where they almost give in—and when they do, it’s deeply satisfying. But beyond the spice, this story packs real emotional weight. Tierney carries trauma from a past she’s fighting hard to rewrite, and Kenan’s the first person who truly sees her. Not as a pawn, or a burden—but as a partner.

Set against a vividly drawn Scottish backdrop, this book delivers on political intrigue, clever twists, and a cast of unforgettable side characters (special shoutout to Morag—absolute scene stealer). It's part of the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series, but reads beautifully as a standalone.

If you're craving a story where trust is earned, strength is shared, and love comes wrapped in both battle scars and stolen kisses—The Highlander’s Fallen Angel will sweep you off your feet (preferably onto a glider with a Scottish man at your side).

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the eARC!

This series continues to deliver! Kenan might not be sure about his future, but he’s pretty sure it doesn’t lie with the one who wants him. Instead, he’s certain that Tierney just might be important. So he goes along with her wishes to save her clan. But imagine everyone’s surprise when the truth comes out and far more dangers await them all.

Tierney may seem headstrong, but she’s surviving how she knows she can. She also doesn’t want to rely on a man, but Kenan is proving that not all men are horrible. So they embark on a journey to save others, each other, and themselves, and honestly? I loved the whole path from Never to Maybe to NOW for these two. I look forward to finding out what comes our way next.

4.5 stars — swoon-worthy Highlander + fierce heroine = yes please

This book was everything I needed in a historical romance — action, passion, stubborn characters, and a Highland setting that had me wishing I was wrapped in tartan by a fire.

Kenan is your classic brooding Highlander: loyal, a little emotionally closed off, and totally unprepared for the force that is our heroine (who I loved, by the way). The story kicks off with a literal crash — she tries to steal his glider (yes, glider!) and ends up needing rescuing. It’s chaotic, dramatic, and honestly, I was hooked.

What made this stand out for me is how much depth Heather McCollum gives her characters. This isn’t just a fluffy love story. There’s danger, political tension, found family vibes, and some really sweet moments of vulnerability between the leads. The banter? Chef’s kiss. The chemistry? 10/10 slow burn that pays off.

If you love stories about two people from very different worlds learning to trust each other, with plenty of swoony moments and a dash of adventure, definitely give this one a shot. It’s part of the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series, but it reads perfectly fine as a standalone too.

Can’t wait to read the next one!

A marvelous highlander romance!

Tierney and Kenan were awesome characters. I really enjoyed them a lot. Tierney was admirable and inspiring, while Kenan was super swoon worthy. These two had a fiery passion that light up the page.

The story was also filled with action and intrigue that kept me engaged. This was also fast-paced so it was easy to read and immerse myself into.

Would recommend!
