Another fun highland romance. I love the fact that Kenan's defining characteristic is his kindness. And I enjoyed the silliness that occurred with Tierney and her many plans.

I LOVED this storyline. It was a fantastic read. Tierney is a great main character that shows how a person can overcome trauma and learn to love and trust again. I love how determined Kenan is to unite the isles.

I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. I love a good historical romance, and this had a good divide between romance, plots, and action. I couldn't put it down!

I really enjoyed this book. I LOVED Kenan and Tier's story. I didn't want this book to end and really had to pace myself. Morag is a hoot and needs her own book. It was also nice to see Rory and Sara again. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

To save her clan, Tierney is forced to capture Kenan and bring him back to her home in Scorrybreac, to put in place her plans. The arrangement is a complicated one as Kenan has other plans to strengthen his own clan via a marriage pact with his friend’s sister.

As the story proceeds, it is clear that Tierney is one strong and smart woman; and a survivor. It was nice to see Kenan being the first person who truly wants to protect her. As their decision brings forth strive, the danger surrounding them forces them to work closely with other allies. I especially loved how wise Morag was.

Talk about your engaging characters and strong storyline. I enjoyed reading this book. While there is romance that brews between the characters, it is more than just a love story. A story about trust. Trusting someone who can help heal your heart and let love in.

There were many side characters that added to the story. There is Edith, Doris, Tierney's daughter, Maggie, and Kenan's Aunt Morag. I am a sucker for cute children and the few appearances that Maggie made in the story, she stole the spotlight and my heart. Although, the one that did play a larger part in the story is Morag. She was a very intriguing character.

There are not a lot of romantic moments shared between Kenan and Tierney. This is because of Tierney's lack of trust and her past trauma. Luckily, Kenan recognizes this and does not push Tierney. She slowly comes to realize that Kenan has a kind heart, and she could love him.

Kenan and Tierney sharing a flight on the gilder put a smile on my face, but it was when Tierney yelled "I love you" that really got me smiling the biggest.

This is the second book in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series and tells the story of Tierney and Kenan's historical romance set in the 1500s in warring Scotland.

Kenan has escaped an English prison with fellow rival clansmen and returned to Scotland with a peace oath between them and a promise to try to unite Scotland against English oppression.

Tierney has already survived through one abusive marriage and will do whatever it takes to try to avoid being tied to another abuser ever since her father has promised her through a marriage contract to another violent man from a different clan without her consent.

Tierney forces Kenan into a fake union with her in order to exploit a clause in the marriage contract her father wrote, even if it means starting a war between clans. Although as the charade progresses, the intensity of their feelings also increases for each other.

I really liked the way the author wrote Tierney's personal journey and her struggle with her abusive past, her self reflection and doubts, and then how Kenan helps her to see her self-worth, respecting her boundaries in order to process her feelings. It showed compassion, understanding, and made his character all the more lovable. There were plenty of other colorful and interesting characters in this story as well, and I'm already looking forward to reading the next installment in this series!

this book had me hooked from the beginning. i loved tierney and how strong of a fmc. she’s witty, funny, but also has this sweet and caring side that she shows only those close to her. kenan, fell hard and fast. the banter between the two was hilarious. i love their dynamic & loved how kenan loved her for who she was.

Holy cow - when I first started this book, I thought what in the world is going on? Between Tierney and Kenan, the conflicting problems were a bit maddening. Sometimes it truly is difficult to know the right thing to do. Kenan faced that problem head on - having to make up his mind within minutes with ever-changing responsibilities. Good thing he's a big softie inside, otherwise Tierney would have really been screwed.

Tierney's journey, growth, and healing was beautiful to read. She had to overcome a lot.

Overall, I feel so bad for Scotsmen - though they kind of did it to themselves with all the in-fighting. So many lives lost though. Anyway, I found the dynamic between the two main characters entertaining and plausible enough.

Plans, Family, Many Surprises Unleash a Delightful Romance Story:
Kenan and his co-captive enemies come to together and make a daring escape and swear to work together and are enemies no longer.
Tierney will meet Kenan in a most unusual way, and she has an unscrupulous plan waiting for him that will change both of their lives forever.

Lots of excitement, passions, emotions, sizzling fan worthy scenes that took me on an unbelievable adventure of discovering love.
This is a story of two Perfectly Imperfect People that have a very happy ending.
One heck of a delightful story that moves at a very fast pace.
Mature Advisory. 💋💋💋

While The Highlander’s Fallen Angel is a good second book in the Brotherhood of Solway Moss series, I didn’t fall in love with it as much as the first book. I loved the premise of this book, but I would’ve liked a little more action and adventure.

The writing in The Highlander’s Fallen Angel was good, and I’m looking forward to the third book.

There’s just something about Highlander historical romances that hit oh so right!

I loved The Highlander’s Fallen Angel in equal measure to the first title in this interconnected series. I swooned, I dreamy sighed, I clutched my pearls! It had it all– action, high-stakes, and passionate romancing! All led by two marvelous leads, Kenan and Tierney.

Tierney is desperate to receive Kenan’s aid in dissuading away an unwanted marriage and alliance she faces with a cruel man. And it’s more than just a marriage she needs dissuading– it’s the protection of her people, including her young daughter. So Tierney does the unexpected– she kidnaps the chief of the Macdonalds. Kenan should rebel against such action, but upon witnessing the reality Tierney faces without his aid, he forsakes his own personal and clan’s goals to protect this woman of great courage and heart. This alliance will threaten war, break friendships, and arise suspicion– and yet Kenan and Tierney will confront it all, for what pulls them together runs far deeper than either would ever expect.

Tierney is such an admirable, resilient heroine. She puts the love she has for her people, especially her daughter, above all else. But she is also desperate to save herself from another unwanted union that could further scar her heart. There is a moment where she mentions she wanting to find Kenan for help not just because of his and his clan’s strength– but because she was told he is kind. Kindness is not a familiar friend to Tierney, so to see her desperation coupled with the why of it all– the need for kindness- rather broke my heart. Seeing her grow as a leader, seeing her brave her fears, and seeing her face the unknown with an open heart is inspiring. Tierney for the win, forever! Tierney deserves the world.

And Kenan is absolutely at the ready to give her just that. This giant man with his brute strength and blunt words harbors a soft, bleeding heart. He sees a woman who has be wronged, a mother desperate to save her child, and a leader desiring to protect her people, and he readily gives up his own desires to protect Tierney. I loved how deliberate he is in every action taken, even knowing the potential consequence. He is a man who does right by all, at least as much as he can. And once Tierney enters his heart, he will do whatever is needed to safeguard her-- and to lift her up.

Their romance unfurls rather quickly, especially its consumption, and while I would have loved a bit more of a slow burn I so utterly believed in the fiery nature of their connection. They are like magnets whose sole purpose is to always find one another. I loved their partnership in politics, their emotional bond as friends, and their passion as lovers. It worked so beautifully together!

This story brings heart-stopping action, stomach-dropping turns, and soul-lighting romance.

Chef’s kiss to this remarkable series! I can’t wait for the third installment!

This book was not my typical genre and I thought I would try something new but I couldn’t get into this book.

Good story, good plot, well written characters, even the evil ones are well written with a great story line that flows evenly and is easy to read. I love wonderful Highlander stories about these strong men who love, fight, rid the land of evil and rescue the innocent. I did fall in love with the hero right away. However, it took me a while to warm up to the heroine as I didn’t like how she went about getting help from the hero. It did take me a while to warm up to her. I did enjoy this couple and couldn’t wait for their happy ever after even though the journey was nail biting at times. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The negative for me is the heroine goes on and on all through the story about what a strong woman she is. This is not my favorite character trait as I don’t want to read over and over again how strong you are. I should be able to see it come across in your actions. However, I did like Tierney’s character but this part was a turn off for me.

✨This review is for an ARC✨

This is my first Highlander novel, and I can say for certain that I loved it! The characters were well developed, and the relationship between Kena and Tierney did not feel rushed. The story had humor, heartache, and love.

If there was thing that will make this novel better, I wish it was longer! I felt sad when I reached 80%. I wanted to read more about Kenan and Tierney.

I loved how Heather McCollum did not change Tierney at the end. Tierney was still fierce, loyal, and a loving mother. Kenan was there to support her through everything, and accepted her for who she is.

I wished we saw more of the dynamic between Kenan and Maggie. Maybe we can have a sequel?

Overall, I highly recommend this book. It's fun, romantic, and just has the right amount of spice! I can't wait to read the other books in this series.

I have always loved reading Heather McCollum’s Highland books. “The Highlander’s Fallen Angel” kept me glued to Tierney and Kenan’s story. The strength Tierney has is overwhelming and brings this book to life. Heather’s research of the Scottish history seen throughout her book. Such a great story with many surprises.
