Local small town girl becomes big rockstar success overnight, and she's torn between the teen heartthrob of the season and one of her bandmates? This had all the makings to be right up my alley. Unfortunately, my feelings for For the Record are very much meh. Was it bad? Not at all; Huang's writing does a fantastic job of capturing the drama and chaos of suddenly finding yourself ripped out of anonymity and being thrust into the spotlight, each character is their own person. So why are my feelings towards this book so meh? I don't know. :/

This book was funny, witty and with a charming cast of characters. It kept me hooked until the very end and was a good bubblegum fun read.

"Well, I did write it! Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it". Charlotte Huang wrote that sentences on Goodreads.
Since she enjoyed writing it, as a reader I also enjoyed reading this book. It is about a girl who’s suddenly "dive" into the spotlight when one phone call changed her life and made her the lead singer of a famous rock band! What an interesting premise, is it? I suggest you reading this book if you like music or band thingy.

For the Record is a fun book that is full of music and an enjoyable cast of characters that easily add plenty of spunk and enjoyability to this fast paced novel.

All Chelsea has ever wanted to do is sing, and when she is tapped to replace the former lead singer of the popular band Melbourne it seems like her dreams have come true. Except for the fact that it is not at all what Chelsea thought it would be. The band members treat her like a stranger, and Chelsea longs to fit in. When she starts dating a hearthrob actor, she puts her band in the spotlight, but her band members are less than enthused, especially the bassist Beckett, who has feelings for her.

Will Chelsea ever fit in? Or will she learn to find her own voice?

Cute.
