In general, this book provided both entertainment and enlightenment, even if it didn't stand out as the best or fastest-paced installment in Drizzt's universe. The plot twist at the book's conclusion is compelling enough on its own to ignite my curiosity about how dramatically Faerun's world is about to shift, prompting a strong desire to delve into the next book.

One of my favourite long-running series, I've loved RA Salvatore's Drizzt tales since I was a teenager. Still hugely enjoyable as an adult. Full of adventure and excitement.

R. A. Salvatore's work was some of the best fantasy fiction out there years ago. He has been slipping over the years. The new series just doesn't hold interest like it did years ago.
