I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for Georgia Beers' next book to be released and Whisk Me Away did not disappoint. This one had everything I’ve come to love from her stories—heart, humor, tension, and characters I genuinely enjoy spending time with.

Regan and Ava have that kind of chemistry that jumps off the page. The enemies-to-lovers trope isn’t usually my favorite, but I liked how it was handled here. Their rivalry-turned-romance felt natural and earned, and while some parts were a bit predictable, it was the kind of predictable that feels comforting and satisfying.

The secondary characters were a great touch, too. They added depth without taking away from the main story, and made the retreat setting feel real and lively.

This one hit the sweet spot for me (pun intended). I highly recommend it if you're looking for a slow-burn romance with just the right amount of heat and sweetness (pun intended, again).

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this awesome book

you know you are in for a treat when you read a georgia beers book and this one in no exception.......

stiff competition to be one of the chosen few to be on whisk me away held by a famous master baker had hundreds sending in their appilcations forms and for ava and regan they were both over the moon when they get confirmation that they have been accepted

both worked in different places but that wasnt always the case....ava had gotten regan fired so there is no love between them

as their felllow bakers introduced themselves and wondered what their 8 weeks of learning would be like ava and regan remained politely distanced after all they were all their to learn

but the announcement that there was prize money at the one who impressed their idol the most the easy 8 weeks of learning new suddenly became fraught with tension and competition each one of them realising how life changing and goals could be reached.....

omg what a read..... tension and ice maiden abound... brilliant storyline that kept me reading right into the early hours

Admittedly it took me getting about 1/3 through the book to distinguish the two main characters of Regan and Ava in my head, and then for the baking parts of the story to really pull my attention. However, once I was sucked in, I really enjoyed the story and the characters!
This book made me wish I knew how to bake, but also eat - much like how I feel when watching The Great British Baking Show. I felt myself rooting for each of the six bakers to learn and succeed with their baking. I really loved this setting of an educational baking retreat that the author created for the reader. The chemistry between Regan and Ava was written in a believable way, and their heat rivaled that of a hot oven ready to bake.
Thank you to the author and Bold Strokes Books for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Georgia Beers tells a fun story with the MCs that have a bit of history.  I love anything culinary and tend to devour them quickly. The angst was fun in the beginning.  I enjoyed watching their chemistry grow.

The angst for the third act separation, I felt it was predictable.  The resolution could have been more timely.

The antagonist was well created and did a good job causing trouble.

The secondary characters were fun, and I greatly enjoyed them. They were a great addition to the story.

As a fan of Beers already, I look forward to more books that come our way.

This book is a delicious mix of romance, rivalry, and passion for baking! Regan and Ava’s fiery competition keeps things exciting, with their opposite personalities clashing in the best way. The tension between them is just as intense as the heat in the kitchen, making every moment fun and engaging. It also made me crave all sorts of baked goods and unfortunately (for me) I’m a terrible baker. A classic Georgia Beers, what’s not to like.

How sweet it is to have another Georgia Beers masterpiece in my hands?! I loved this one so much. Regan and Ava were meant to be, and the retreat was the perfect setting to watch their love unfold. I loved the highs and lows as well as the character development throughout this story. I only wish it was longer because I wanted to see Regan and Ava explore more adventures together. This was such a cute slow burn, and I wish there was a sequel planned for the future! We all love to watch an ice queen melt, so this was a fabulously written. I also enjoy when the author uses relevant pop culture references, and weaves them in seamlessly through the characters. Very nice work here!

I really enjoyed this beautiful story by Ms. Georgia Beers! I really love a good slow burn, and this was a home run slow burn for all those romance lovers out there. The chemistry in the air and in the cooking is so perfect between Regan and Ava. I love the history they share before coming together at the retreat. I really enjoyed watching them slowly fall for each other, especially considering they were sharing a room! This author is always a favorite of mine because she gives such great personalities to the characters. She is detailed and interesting with her words, and I always find myself struggling to keep my eyes open as I continue reading late at night--I can't keep my Kindle down! The money incentive during the retreat also made the retreat a fun experience for all of the characters. This was such a unique concept for a book, and I'm so pumped to read the next one soon. Thank you for writing such fabulous stories!

I am an amateur baker. So when I read a sapphic romance, I absolutely love it when a baker and/or pastry chef is a MC. I looked forward to this book because I knew this author would treat this story the way we treat our baked goods - with love and care. And there’s no way to avoid the food metaphors. Baking is a science, yes, and yet like our love lives, it’s still messy and sometimes a bit out of your control. Some things can’t be fixed as they are, so you have to start again, think about what you did before, and then do better. And sometimes, you have to trust that it’s not perfect but it’s still great. That’s what we had here, the enemies to lovers base, topped with forced proximity that lead to a delicious treat. Regan and Ava had their rocky history and I’m so glad that when they moved past it, they didn’t *really* get over it. That’s too simple a cookie. Since the goal of the bakers’ retreat turned into a quasi-competition, the rocky history came full circle to bite them in the bundt. But it was handled well and given the true nature of people, particularly when it comes to how gossip and appearances can lead to misunderstandings and misconceptions, I wasn’t too surprised that it took an outside (albeit somewhat evil) force to bring order to the universe. Not going to lie, I would absolutely LOVE a story centered around said evil force: Liza Bennet-Schmidt. Whether we’ll get that, who knows. But I’m ready to tackle some tarts and puff pastries now.

Whisk Me Away is a cute, quick romance read that I all but flew through. Against the backdrop of an 8-week baking retreat, two bakers with a bit of a history (professional, not romantic, which was a refreshing change) reconnect through forced proximity and sizzling chemistry.

I do wish there were a bit more distinction between Ava and Regan - I found myself mixing them up a lot during each PoV change, which was a few times each chapter. Both are driven bakers, and while the blurb calls Regan a "gorgeous flake" and Ava an "ice queen", we really don't see that much of that from either of them, which made them difficult to keep them separate in my head. That said, both were endearing and I enjoyed their romance.

I initially loved the idea of a bakers retreat in an eccentric's mansion and the forced proximity and mishaps that come with that. The pivot to competition wasn't my favorite despite it being a favorite trope, especially as more and more of Liza came to the front. I wish it had either been a competition from the start, or stayed a retreat, because as it was, the third act breakup felt really forced and an abrupt end to the retreat. It also then put a lot of the reconciliation in Regan's court, when we didn't see much of the real fallout and Regan was treated like an outsider. It just felt unbalanced and off compared to what had come previously with all the women bonding.

That said, it was overall cute and sweet, and another great read from Beers.

This is a story about Regan who works in a large bakery in NYC. And Ava who is a pastry chef at an upscale NYC restaurant. They both win auditions to be on a cooking show with a world class chef.

I really liked this book. It was a quick and easy fun read. With a lot of emotional warmth. I liked both MCs and their chemistry was excellent. Even though it had the black scene at the 80% mark, it was still a good very enjoyable. I wish it was longer or we get a sequel. Cudo’s to Georgia Beers for a great read.

Thanks to Net Galley and BSB for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I am a Georgia Beers fan. I am also a fan of stories involving food and romance. This was a read I was looking forward to. First of all, I liked the title. Nice.

Ava Prescott and Regan Callahan are chefs/bakers/pastry and very good at their craft. Ava culinary school and Regan self taught. Not such a big deal, well, maybe, well maybe not. Both applied and were accepted into a baking retreat hosted by their idol and television personality, Liza Bennett-Schmidt. At first, all participants were excited, then not so much. Regan and Ava have a past. Not surprising at all, Regan and Ava, bump heads. This story is told from both of their POV and I appreciated that because I wanted to know how they were responding to what was going on around them and between them. I also like the secondary characters. Especially how different they were from each other, refreshing.

This novel felt like a mashup of several of my favorite cooking competition shows, combined with the adult version of a sleepaway camp, plus some romance and a dash of emotional tension. This was an enjoyable second chance, forced proximity story following two former coworkers who haven’t spoken in years until they find themselves at the same highly competitive baking retreat.

This was a relatively easy read, with enough emotion to keep me invested in the characters but not overly angsty. Perfect spring break read for someone looking for a bit on a non-beach getaway.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley.

Beers does it again. Another wonderful, enthralling story that made me super hungry for any and all baked goods.

Regan Callahan works for a bakery that she loves and when she gets invited to a retreat thrown by her idol, she feels like everything is finally coming together and she may get everything she's ever dreamed of. Until she gets there and realizes who her roommate is. It's not supposed to be a competition, but Regan will do anything to win.

Ava Prescott is the head pastry chef at a high end restaurant and while she hates her boss, she loves her job. She dreams of opening her own place and when she gets accepted to a once in a lifetime retreat, Ava believes she closer to finally achieving her dream until she comes face to face with Regan, the chef she got fired from her high end restaurant.

It's been years since they last saw each other and the rivalry is just as strong as it was back then, but sparks fly and everything heats up both in and out the bedroom. This was very well written, engaging and funny. It's a semi slow burn with low angst and very healthy competition. The side characters were fantastic and added to the overall feel of the story.

100% recommend to anybody who loves a good romantic, lighthearted story. I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars rounded up.

Thank you to the publisher for providing the ARC of Whisk Me Away in advance.

This enemies to lovers sapphic romance started with delicious rivalry and one sided dislike. Regan can't stand Ava who caused her to get fired back in the day. There's a bit similar vibe in Whisk Me Away than in Aubrey McFadden Is Never Getting Married which I absolutely love. It was one of my favorite reads of 2024. So, I was eager to get to read Whisk Me Away and it did not disappoint.

The romance is medium paced with dual pov and forced proximity. Both MCs have close friends and the other side characters support the story. The story is quite light and the novel is relatively quick read. It'd be great book to take with on a weekend trip or to the beach. There's some mild spice but there's also a lot more to the relationship. And I like that in a romance.

This book held my interest from beginning to end. I read it straight through.
Now I have no interest in baking, cooking shows and I only know where the kitchen is because it's where I feed the dog. This book is full of chefs, bakers, kitchens, restaurants and cooking programmes. I had to look up some of the cooking terms used as I was not familiar with them.
Regan and Ava have both won a place on a prestigious baking retreat with a famous chef. They have history - but not the type of history you might expect.
It almost feels as though you are there taking part in the retreat yourself!
It's sort of a slow burn but not, also it's a second chance, a enemies to lovers, a forced proximity with more than one bed.
And when things start to go wrong - who is actually to blame?

And of course there's an epilogue. Which I think is always a good idea. We of course want to know what happens after the retreat - how they go forward to make their mark in the culinary world.

This was the book I didn't know I wanted to read - but I might have to go and see what else is in the kitchen apart from dog food and alcohol.

Who doesn’t like a lovely baking romance!
Ava and Regan both get accepted to a baking retreat held by the famous Liza Bennett-Schmidt.
But Ava and Regan have a past so their meeting at the retreat isn’t off to a great start but being in close proximity to each other can things change?
However, all is not what it seems at the retreat and shenanigans are afoot!!
This is another well written and entertaining romance by Georgia Beers that kept me turning the pages.
Thanks to Bold Strokes Books for providing me with an opportunity to give honest feedback.

I love cooking and baking so reading about people that excel doing that is extra intriguing, perhaps I can get inspired. The whole enemies to lovers and on top of that forced proximity setting made it a fun read I recommend.

I believed in the romance between Regan and Ava, but it took them quite some time to get together, and that made it a bit frustrating. Also of course a 3rd act break-up, that is not one of my favourites and I think in general unnecessary. I prefer the couple fight against outside issues not miscommunication between themselves. With that said what an intriguing bitch the famous baking host Liza Bennet-Schmidt was, I really think the fight should have been against her and not against each other.

For as much as I dislike being in the kitchen, I sure do love books about baking and cooking, especially Sapphic romances. This is cute and lighthearted and exactly the kind of pallete cleanser I needed to read. Though the setup for the third act breakup was predictable, I still enjoyed the way it leaned into their history to make it happen. Liza is kind of awful for lots of reasons, least of which being hardest on the only woman of color chef at the retreat.

I liked the baking retreat and the budding friendships between everyone. I was having a really great time up until about 70% where it all got a bit frustrating. Even so, definitely would recommend if you enjoy books about food. Don't read while hungry!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read the ARC. This was a cozy, quick read for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect at the retreat the main characters were on but it was an interesting plot.I did figure out what was going on “behjnd the scenes” fairly quickly. I do feel as if more about that and the other chefs would’ve been nice to see.
The third act break up, I saw something coming but did not see that coming. I think it was a good way to incorporate the past and show that there is still trust to be earned between the two, even though it was infuriating when one of the MCs was not believed.
