My daughter has been taking horse lessons for about a year now, and this book is one of her new favorites! She LOVED every page, and has read it over and over again. Highly recommend for your horse lovers.

Horses are my favourite! This delightful young reader introduction to horses really touches on all the aspects of the horse's anatomy.
Delving into subjects like feet/horseshoes, teeth, body language and general information, the reader learns quite a bit all while being thrilled with the photography on each page.
I absolutely loved that several breeds were featured including Draft horses, which are rarely shown in books.
I will definitely be buying this for my younger family members!

This is a beautifully photographed book about horses. It goes through all their body parts and gives short little facts about horses.

This is a great book for a little boy or girl who wants to learn the absolute basics about horses. The pictures are great and pages are colorful to keep little ones attention. I would not recommend for an older child if they are experienced around horses and these are short simple facts. Ages 2-5 would be perfect in my opinion. Even as an arc reader for this, I would still buy for someone as a gift.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the Rosen Publishing Group for the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy!

As a kid, I would check out every horse book at the library that I could get my hands on. This book is a really good choice for very young readers that are just starting out on their equestrian journey! This book had very nice photography and was very easy to read. It gives a great overview of the subject and should keep kids very interested. There was even a fact in the book that I didn't know. I would definitely recommend!

Great educational book about horses for young readers! Right off the bat, I will say that I think the title of this book should be "horseS" because it sounds a bit better. At the moment, "horse" seems a bit weird, unfinished. Besides the title, I liked every aspect of this book! Information is written in a simple way that's easy for kids to understand and follow. Terms that they might not know are bolded and underlined, and can be found later in the glossary. This works perfectly because it challenges readers just enough to where they can absorb the facts, but expand their vocabularies at the same time. Lastly, the images and writing worked together, rather than separately, because images matched the writing flawlessly. Good job!

One of a set of four similar books that take a young scientist right down and along the body of a large quadruped – in this instance, of course, the horse. We see a spread for the head, the teeth, the eyes – and so on, right down to the tail and the hooves. It's highly photographic, and commendably easy to read. I do wonder if the four books don't overlap somewhat, and whether a school librarian wouldn't prefer one book to cover all the ungulates. That said, what we have here is four-star quality.

This would have been a must have for me back in my horse crazy girl days. Heck, I enjoyed it today despite being, well, a bit past that stage. The information is short and sweet with great photos illustrating every page. I almost felt like I could reach out and stroke the nose of one of the horses stretching its head out toward the photographer in one shot. for instance. Lovely horses of different kinds and colors.. The info is solid and easy to understand, covering the horse from as the cover indicates, head to hoof.

This would be the perfect gift for a young horse lover who wants to know everything there is to know about horse basics. Perfect for young readers who've gained a bit of confidence without overwhelming them with text. While those who've been reading everything and anything horse for years may not find much new, the illustrations alone would make this a lovely gift. It'd also be a great addition to a children's library shelves. Thanks #RosenPublishingGroup for gifting me this opportunity to slip back into my former "everything horse" stage.

Review to come March 27th (earliest I could get the review on my blog after some moving around). Plus also will be posted on Goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

I love horses, sadly allergic though that didn't always stop me, haha. So when I saw this early reader non-fiction book about horses I just had to pick it up!

In this delightful little early reader non-fiction we are going to learn all about horses, one of my favourite animals. Starting with the horse itself (what is a horse/wild horses vs domestic) to the head and lastly to life cycle (foals and more). We are really going from head to hoof along with two bonus horse-related chapters (Horse and Life Cycle). Each chapter is about two pages long with information and photographs. The text is really simple (again early reader) and easy to understand, there are only a couple of harder words that kids may ask an adult or teacher how to pronounce them. This is going to be a perfect first book about horses. While I already knew quite a bit about horses even I learned a new fact! I knew that horses breathed through their noses but didn't know that this was because they cannot breathe through their mouths. So that is fun! I always love learning something new, so whoop!

I also always appreciate it when a book adds a glossary at the end. This one also has it. Throughout the book will have some words underlined and you can look them up in the back. Which works much better in a physical copy of course.

I love the photographs that are used. Given the rise of AI I am even more appreciative of people going for photographs or make their own graphics instead of taking the easy road.

Oh, and the cover is so fun, with the head just peeking over the title part.

All in all, I am sure this will be a hit with kids. This book reminded me of the early reader non-fiction I had as kid. There were boxes full of them with various topics from animals to technology. I always loved picking them up as a kid, and I am happy that the new generation still gets these kind of books. I would recommend it!
