I am definitely starting to outgrow the YA genre so I am doing my best to be objective. The plot was interesting and intriguing. It was unique. The writing is decent and the FMC is actually endearing. The love connection felt rushed and Azael is the worst. After Pen giving up so much for him, it's really awful how little he cared. Some things were cringy like when she goes walking through talking to mentally ill patients. Overall this was okay.

Erica Crouch is a fantastic storyteller with her worldbuilding to her characters. Ignite (and the whole series, really) is vastly underrated and it's unfortunate because it's such a good series that I personally enjoyed and think people would too. Usually series fall flat after the first book, but this one takes us all the way through.
