As someone who read CGS last year and absolutely LOVED it, I had very high expectations for this release. It's safe to say that Danielle exceeded EVERY expectation. This book was fun, spicy and funny and perfect in every way! I'm already excited for the next installment.
I have had the pleasure of reading/listening to a few books narrated by Wesleigh Sioban but this took the cake. She did a phenomenal job and made an amazing book even better.

I just love this Curve series by Danielle Allen! I have become a fan of you Danielle Allen after I read your first book in this series.
Nina Ford is a plus size model and a social media content creator with a huge on-line following. Nina is beautiful and stylish, but she also enjoys dating and having a good time. Nina does on-line dating where she has a rotating line up of men that meet certain needs and qualities she likes in a partner. Nina talks to her best friends about her rotating line-up and how the top picks are called: the smart one; the fun one; and the funny one. Nina's conversations with her bffs regarding this is hilarious.
Then Nina discovers that she seems to like one of the men in her line-up more that others. There time together fun and the chemistry is HOT!!! But what happens when this man fits all the categories, but Nina must decide between a huge job opportunity or give the man of her dreams up for this opportunity.
I must also say that I loved the confidence of Nina, and how she was comfortable in her own skin. I also loved how Nina went toe to toe with people who made side comments about her size. I love how the author empowers the character of Nina and her friend.
Thank you Net-galley and Macmillan audio for the opportunity to review Plus Size Player. I Loved it! I also hope that Danielle does another installment of this series and continues this sizzling hot series!

Siobhan does it again with another BANGER of an audiobook! Curvy Girl Summer was one of my favorite audiobooks of 2024 and Plus Size Player is already in the running to be one of my favorites for 2025! The cadence, the rhythm, the BARITONE this narrator has is unparalleled. The spicy scenes in this story are made to be spicier because of she is able to control her tone.
The plot, characters, and setting are all so wonderfully written with clear intentions and a beautiful character arc. I love seeing Fat women empowered in their bodies and taking no shit from anyone. I wish books like this were written when I started dating in my early 20's so I, too, could learn to carry my plus-sized self with the same confidence and grace that Nina carries herself with. Writing revolutionary romance where the FMC knows what she wants will save this generation, I truly believe it.
Thank you, Danielle Allen, for writing books that make people like me feel seen!

This book is everything!
I don't give many 5-star ratings for romance books, but this is 5+!
GET THIS AUDIO BOOK! Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the advanced audiobook.
Let me give much praise to Wesleigh Siobhan! Her narration made this book so fun, enjoyable, and sexy! I was grinning throughout much of it! Wesleigh's enthusiasm is felt in the listeners' ears!
They could not have picked a better narrator. She portrays all the characters in a distinct manner that fits each character. And the spice, wow, Bravo! Hold on when a certain character says "Nina..."
The author has written a book that is modern, sexy, and has a strong female lead.
This romance is smart!
The banter is the BEST!
Nina is a strong woman!
Nina can/should be admired and praised! She stands up for herself and says it like it is, she is honest and straightforward.
The handling of the relationships is realistic!
The spice is at an appropriate level!
Nina is a social media influencer who is also navigating dating but wants to maintain her privacy. She keeps a great roster of men,! Then, her personal life collides with her work life.
Hold on for a great ride! I could not stop listening to this book. I must read!

Plus Size Player is Book 2 in the Curve Series! Book 1 Curvy Girl Summer is good too! I absolutely LOVED this book (I listened to the audiobook twice while I've had the ARC) Can't wait to purchase the physical book and audiobook when it's released!
Plus Size Player is about Nina Ford who is living life baby! She has a roster of men that she dates because she doesn’t like to put all her eggs in one basket…she’s actually like that about a lot of things in her life! But as the saying goes once the right one comes along everything will change!
I loved Nina's roster of men, because she held the cards! She was a strong female lead and one that has taken up space in my mind ever since I read the book! I
You will LOVE this one! I had the pleasure of listening to the 🎧 Audiobook…and if audiobooks are your thing, you will love Wesleigh Siobhan narration (I mean you can never go wrong with her as the narrator)!

Danielle Allen did what needed to be done with Plus Size Player. From the moment I pressed play on the audio ARC, I was hooked. The pacing? Impeccable. The romance? Heart-melting. The vibe? Everything.
The main character was such a breath of fresh air—fun, confident, vulnerable, and deeply relatable. Watching her evolve and settle into her own brilliance was a beautiful part of the journey. And Russ? Whew. Russ was that man. He was tender, intentional, and romantic in all the right ways. Their chemistry lit up every page (and every minute of the audiobook), and those date scenes had me cheesin’ hard.
This story felt like love—real, deep, and grown. Their connection reminded me that sometimes, when it’s right, it just flows. As one beautiful line from the book says:
“When you find exactly what you want you will want to and it will feel like home. What I found with your father when we were 25 is rare, it happens when happens and it will happen for you too. But in the meantime live your life for you first and then find someone who fulfills you like life fulfills you. Don't worry about settling down, worry about settling in... settling into your life... Enjoying what God has blessed you with.”
And Russ? This man had me swooning with declarations like:
“When I say you're my escape I mean you're my freedom... when I say you're my escape I mean I can be myself with you... when I say you're my escape I mean that whenever and wherever we're together is the only place I want to be.”
Danielle Allen knows how to write love that feels like a warm hug and a deep breath at the same time.
If you’re looking for a romance with heart, heat, and healing—Plus Size Player needs to be on your TBR.

When the plus size player, but only when single, is confident and doesn't mind letting the people have it! I love that the MMC fell first, he was always about her, always. The narrator was amazing and read the spicy scenes making you feel like you were there to experience it yourself! The writing flowed so effortlessly. The character development was just enough of all the things.

This book is everything. I laughed so much but felt all the other feels. As a plus size woman this made me feel seen.
The narrations were perfect. I could visualize everything.

Thank you Macmillan Audio for the Advanced Listening Copy
If it's one thing Ms Allen is going to do is give a grown, sexy, funny read, that is sure to have me giggling and enjoying the ride. This book made me blush so many times, and I was super happy that no one else was in the car to hear all this naughty goodness. I equally laughed out loud throughout this novel as Nina, the FMC, had me cracking up with her sense of humor.
In this novel, we meet Nina as she lives her life focusing on pursuing her dreams as a model and dating various men for the rolls they suit in her life. She has a full roster and has no intention of being serious with anyone that can't measure up to the example her parents have set. We also got to see a little bit of her friendship with Aaliyah, which I loved, because I loved her book last year.
The romance in the story hit all the points for me. The MMC was a man of action. He was attentive, funny, romantic, sexy and such a perfect fit for our girl. The audio narrator did an excellent job bringing all these scenarios to life! Did I mention I was blushing? lolol The angst and tension were portrayed so well that I left like it was in the moment with these characters. Likewise, the light-hearted moments felt like I was part of the friend group. I can't wait to see what else this author has in store for us!! I'm hoping it's the other friend's story.

Thank you Macmillan Audio, NetGalley and Danielle Allen for this arc of Plus Size Player.
Admittedly, I dove into this story without reading the first book, "Curvy Girl Summer." If I'm being candid, I'm actually listening to it as I pen this review—talk about multitasking! But let’s get to the juicy stuff we’re really here for: "Plus Size Player" is a sizzling contemporary romance that’s sure to leave you breathless!
Meet Nina, a fabulous plus-size fashion influencer who’s unapologetically living her best life with a lineup of men that would make anyone envious. She’s got:
- The fun one
- The smart one
- The funny one
- The romantic one
what’s refreshing here is seeing Nina as the "player" instead of the one being "played." i definitely vibe with her approach to dating—keeping her options open until she finds the best match. in today’s dating scene, this often gets misinterpreted as being a “player,” but Nina challenges that notion in the most empowering way!
as Nina juggles her charming roster, Russ—the former "fun one"—starts to steal the spotlight. sparks begin to increase and suddenly, the idea of exclusivity is on the table. But just when things heat up, a bombshell drops that could derail their budding romance—a "no fraternization policy" looms like a cloud over them!
the chemistry between Nina and Russ is electric! the way he advocates for and protects her is beyond alluring. and let me say, Nina's confidence is a force to be reckoned with; every time someone tests her, she stands her ground—and baby, i was here for it!
overall, i adored this read! it’s a read of passion, humor, and empowerment. i can’t wait to devour more of Danielle Allen’s work! this book is an absolute must-read!

the chemistry 😩 as soon as we met Nina in book 1 i knew her book was gonna be everything. we love a woman who knows herself and knows what she wants and won’t settle for less. i really enjoyed getting to see her work life as well as romantic life. russ couldn’t be a more perfect MMC. there was never a time where i didn’t like him which i’d say is pretty rare in romance books. the writing was very well done and easy to follow. danielle allen writes very well rounded MC’s and i will never skip one of her books! i also really enjoyed the audio. the narrator had me falling in love okay!!

Danielle Allen has once again captured my heart with her approach to Black romance in her upcoming traditional release, Plus Size Player. Experiencing this book as an audiobook, narrated by the captivating Wesleigh Siobhan, I was immediately drawn into Nina's story. Set within the same timeline as Curvy Girl Summer, this book centers on Nina, a bold and unapologetic woman who confidently pursues her desires in all aspects of life. Her high standards have led her to cultivate a roster of eligible bachelors, as she initially has no interest in a serious relationship – until she meets Russell Long. Attentive, passionate, and utterly smitten with Nina, Russ will have you eagerly anticipating their connection. As their steamy romance unfolds, Nina must confront her need for control and learn to trust. Allen’s portrayal of Nina is a refreshing and vital representation of a plus-size Black woman with high standards, dreams, deserving partners who fully respect them, and a fulfilling life that transcends the focus on weight. I especially appreciated the contrast between Nina's supportive family and Aaliyah's in Curvy Girl Summer, with her parents readily displaying love and encouragement for her goals and choices. Nina’s journey beautifully reinforces the idea that even the most commitment-resistant individuals can find their happily ever after. I thoroughly enjoyed Plus Size Player and eagerly await the next installment in this series.
Audiobook Commentary:
Wesleigh Siobhan is a truly masterful narrator, and it's evident in her work on this audiobook. She imbues each character with a unique and authentic voice, making them instantly recognizable. Prepare to love the sexy banter between Nina and Russ and have a cold drink near if you need to cool down.

First, thank you to Net Galley, MacMillan Audio and Daniel Allen for this opportunity. Secondly, OMG!! This was not what I was expecting and in the most delicious way ever!! Nina was definitely a favorite from Curvy Girl Summer, so I was quite excited when it was announced that she would have her own story. And BABY, Danielle did not disappoint!
I knew that Nina liked to play the field and had very strong opinions about settling down. Usually when you read stories about women dating it’s always equated to her having whore-like ways. The way that Danielle wrote Nina’s story so elegantly and rooted in love and respect was chef’s kiss!
And Mr. The Fun One had me from the very beginning! He was so attentive and charismatic. And he definitely exuded BDE lol! I love that Danielle writes these stories with drama but very much so without the all the crazy cheating and such! Black folks can have healthy-ish relationships too!
And the narration is always on point, can’t go wrong with Wesleigh Siobhan! She always gives a stellar performance!

An awesome book she never thought that she would fall in love. She was just out dating the 4 of them because each one gave her what she was looking for in a man the four of them made one…

Fun, Steamy, and Totally Empowering!
I had such a great time with this listen! Nina Ford, a plus-size model with a no-strings-attached dating life, is living her best life balancing four different men who each offer her something unique, while her career finally starts to take off. But when the “fun one” Russ in her lineup starts making her feel something real, things get interesting in the best way.
This story is the perfect spicy escape sexy without being over-the-top, and refreshingly low on drama. Nina is smart, funny, confident, and totally in control of her life. I loved seeing a woman get to be the player for once, without any shame or judgment. The plot is light, the relationships are respectful, and the body positivity throughout is so satisfying.
The audiobook performance by Wesleigh Siobhan is a standout! She gave each character a distinct voice and made the story come alive. Minus male voices I didn't care for them. I’ll definitely be looking for more books she narrates.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a feel-good, steamy and spicy romance that celebrates women and lets them have it all!
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for this ARC

I loved Curvy Girl Summer so I was really excited to see this one. Nina was such a confident FMC and I loved her spunk as a plus size model and influencer. She was in her dating around era and I loved reading about it and how she described her different guys. Russ, the fun one, was definitely trying to win Nina's heart with his fancy dates. They had tons of chemistry and the spice was definitely there between Russ and Nina. I really liked how Nina wanted to support everyone and was not mega competitive, but wanted to cheer everyone on. This was such a good, quick read!

I absolutely loved Curvy Girl Summer so when I saw there would be a book two I was super excited. Then when I saw Wesleigh Siobhan was narrating I was even more excited. After listening to Plus Size Player I can honestly say I am a Danielle Allen fan. This topped Curvy Girl Summer. I loved how the FMC was so confident in the skin she was in. It's nice to see a curvy girl who doesn't suffer from self-esteem issues. Nina Ford didn't let other people's fat phobia define her. She had no qualms about putting people kin their place when they stepped to her incorrectly. Russell Long was a man able his business. Nina called him "the fun one" but there was so much more to him. Seeing Nina and Russell go from casual dating to a serious relationship was interesting.
I like how the author showed that women can enjoy casual relationships too. And this wasn't the typical woman juggling multiple men in secret. Nina was upfront with each of them about what she wanted and the fact that they weren't the only ones. The author showed how sometimes men are the ones who catch feelings and women are the heartbreakers. Nina didn't purposely try to hurt anyone. In fact, she tried not to hurt anyone by being upfront and when things started to get too heavy she reminded them of what they agreed to. Eventually, her time with Russell became more than just casual. He became her person.
I went through so many emotions with this story and the characters. Wesleigh Siobhan made me feel all of them. Her narration was definitely chef's kiss.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I've been wanting to dig into a new romcom, and this is a top-tier listen! The chemistry between Nina & Russ is too palatable. The banter, the passion, the attraction, the sẹxxx; I enjoyed every moment of it. Nina is lovable, especially with her wit, sass & confidence. I think I'll add Russ to my book boyfriend roster because he gave high vibrational effort in every way imaginable. A huge thank you to danielle allen for sharing this cute yet sexy read!

I was really looking forward to this follow-up to Curvy Girl Summer, and Plus Size Player delivered in so many ways.
Nina was such a fun, refreshing main character. She’s confident, sexy, and fully owns her identity as a plus-sized woman, model, and influencer. I loved that she wasn’t afraid to live her life on her terms—dating for fun, not commitment, and being unapologetically herself. You don’t often see a female character embracing her “player” era, and it was so empowering to experience that through her lens.
Enter Russ—the fun one—who slowly shifts Nina’s perspective on love and connection. Their chemistry is undeniable, and let me just say… this book is very spicy! Their relationship felt passionate and real, with its fair share of complications (which you’ll have to read to find out!).
I also appreciated how the friend group from Curvy Girl Summer remained a part of Nina’s world. Their presence added warmth and consistency to the story. It’s always a treat when authors continue to nurture friendships across books—it helps the world feel grounded and full.
Now let’s talk about the narration—because that was a major highlight. Wesleigh Siobhan absolutely brought Nina to life. Her voice is so animated and expressive that listening felt like having a good girlfriend share her wildest dating stories over wine. She nailed Nina’s confidence, sass, and softer moments. The pacing was natural, the tone matched each moment perfectly, and the emotional range in her performance elevated the entire story. Honestly, this is the kind of audiobook that enhances the experience beyond the page.
The only drawbacks for me: the beginning was a bit slow, and the ending felt a little abrupt. After everything Nina and Russ went through, I would’ve loved an epilogue or some kind of closure to round things out.
Still, this was a fun, sexy, and empowering romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. A solid four stars, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to experience it as an audiobook!
