I was going to just skip this book but the fake romance trope is my favorite so I ended up reading it. There was parts of this that I liked and a whole lot that bugged me.
♥️💔

What bugged me the most is the way the female’s advertising job was described. Like all she had to do was sketch things and host fundraisers. For a book I got from Netgalley that appears to have been reprinted for a more modern story, it doesn’t fit. My bro-in-law works in advertising and it’s a whole lot more than just sketching things on paper… in fact he never sketches things on paper for his work. It’s all drawn up on his computer, so he’s constantly at his desk. And if she works for a big advertising company than she would have a big team of artists that worked for her like my bro-in-law had. He’s branching off and working on his own now (like the h). In a fantasy world I suppose it would be easy to just sketch things and host fundraisers. But then there’s social media to be worked that is never mentioned in the book.

The other thing that bugged me is that the two characters never talked to each other. There was barely any communication between them and because of that they seemed like strangers. There were times when they were talked to others instead, which I really really did not like. I even skipped through a lot of that nonsense.

So for these things I didn’t like it’s a 2 ⭐️ and not a 3.

What I did like… well I guess it’s the fake romance because that’s just my weakness. Like giving candy to a kid I loved it. I did like how instead of just having these childish fights they had and walking away they actually did communicate better right after these fights (maybe that’s what got altered during the reprint).

I’m still deciding if I’m keeping this Netgalley book. I might check my library for more of Charlotte’s works.
