I am thoroughly enjoying the books in the Irish Castle series. And I really like listening to the audiobook versions to hear the Irish accent for the characters who are from Ireland. The narrator does a wonderful job of going back and forth between the American accent and that of the Irish characters. The mystery is set up well and you will be drawn into the drama of a wedding with a lot of difficult individuals. There are definitely a lot of egos Rayne and Clara have to deal with ... but they do it with such professional finesse. I just wish I could have seen pictures of the fabulous wedding dress with Swarovski crystals. I imagine it was beyond belief! Lots of twists and turns and clues that may lead you to figure out who is guilty as you flip through the pages quickly to see if you are right. This is a wonderful series and I can’t wait to spend more time with the people of Ireland and McGrath Castle.

Very entertaining and the audiobook was very well done. I loved the narrator! The mystery confused me every step of the way, but that might be because I almost never read mysteries.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second visit with Rayne at her castle in the Irish countryside. While I also enjoyed my first trip, it seems that the characters, relationships, and mysteries were much better developed this time around, and I look forward to my next visit.
Traci Odom did an excellent job voicing these characters.

Thanks the NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy of the audiobook. I haven’t read the first book in the series, but the author did a good job of describing the characters with just enough background for me to understand what was happening. It was a bit tricky for me to keep track of all the townspeople/minor characters-possibly because I wasn’t familiar with them from the previous book and/or because it was audio rather than a printed copy? The story was enjoyable and engaging, although I wasn’t really a fan of the wedding party-they were a bunch of self centered rich people only interested in themselves. I rate this book a solid 3 stars, but I’m not sure I’m interested in reading the rest of the series.

I don't like this series. Rayne in unlikable and I kept zoning out. I like the dog and the setting, but those would be difficult details to bungle

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. I really enjoyed this book a lot! I read it in 24 hours. I read part one and I enjoyed all the characters and the murder mystery part was very good and I wanted to know who it was. I loved the main female character and the author does a great job writing about the landscape and the castle. I felt like I was there :).

Secret wedding…dream wedding…wedding from hell
Rayne and Ciara, cousins-ish, one American, and one Irish have to work together for one year to save a castle and a village. An heiress wanting her dream secret wedding to a heartthrob actor and strange happenings at the castle keep things “hopping” for Rayne and Ciara.
Enjoying how Rayne’s and Ciara’s relationship has evolved. They are working well together.
“Star qualities without integrity are a bust” like that statement.
The scene with Amos, Rayne and a galloping horse was a nice moment between them, plus a chance to step away from the chaos for a moment.
There are some loose ends I really hope are solved in the next book. A quick, nice, easy read.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #CrookedLaneBooks for the opportunity to do an early read and share my thoughts on the story.
Happy Reading!

I loved the setting of this mystery, a castle in Ireland. Along with a wedding and a murder. It was a decent cozy mystery. The narrator did a good job of keeping my interest. Overall it's a good listen/read.

Death at an Irish Wedding is the second cozy mystery in the Irish Castle Mystery series. Rayne McGrath is trying to get the first wedding at the McGrath Castle to go off without a hitch , but everywhere she turns something is going wrong. They need this to be a success to keep the property, but when one of the wedding guests turns up murdered everything is out of their hands. Will this be the end of the wedding venue before it’s even started?
I have mixed feelings about this book. I really enjoyed parts and other parts were just okay. I have read the first book in this series and didn’t really like the characters or setting, but that changed in this book. Now that the characters are settled I found myself enjoying them. I also liked the Irish Castle setting and the wedding theme. I liked this book better than the first, but it never pulled me in like I hoped it would. It was still an enjoyable mystery read and I didn’t see the ending coming, but I wish I had been more invested than I was. I am still open to reading another book in this series as these books and characters find their footing.

Death at an Irish Wedding is the second book in Ellie Brannigan's Irish Castle Mystery book. Rayne McGrath is slowly settling into her new life living in her family's run down family castle. Rayne, her cousin Ciara and the staff at McGrath Castle are getting ready to host their first wedding for heiress Tori Montgomery and actor Jake Anderson. When a wedding guest ends up dead Rayne gets involved in another murder investigation while trying to keep the wedding going so save her new home and business.
I really enjoy this series. The setting is perfect for a cozy mystery and there are so many interesting characters. Rayne is great and I love how her relationship with her cousin Ciara has been developing. There is also a little bit of a mystery carrying over having to do with Rayne's ex boyfriend that sole her money and nearly ruined her business. The primary mystery had some good twists. I already have an arc for the next book in the series and can't wait to read it. Traci Odom's narration of the audiobook is great.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

'Death at an Irish Wedding' is the second book in the 'An Irish Castle Mystery'.
I appreciate that the story focused more on the mystery rather than the plot about the castle and the cousins, not that the latter wasn't interesting!
Also, the heiress story was entertaining and involved many characters, though, it would have been better if there wasn't that much focus on the girl's plastic surgeries, for there was no point in it. Also, I didn't like the way the groom was treating his bride as, her being a spoiled heiress doesn't mean it's okay to be attacking her constantly.
In addition, there were a lot of substories and none of them were properly finished.
But, I loved that the dog was included in the mix and that the love was from the family and not a romantic kind.

I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator. This is the second book in the series and while I love cozy mysteries, I felt like this one dragged a little. I’m not sure that I’ll continue this series but I’m sure it will be a favorite for some.

3.5 stars. There are many positives and negatives to this story. I was hoping that it would improve from the first one that was a whole lot of Irish and American caricatures. And an overly nosy and pushy sleuth. While book 2 was a smoother read/listen, there was still something off. The characters were completely opposite in book 2. The mystery to a back seat to the wedding drama that seemed like just filler. My hope is that book 3 will be the charm, because this series has the potential to be an enjoyable adventure.
