If I'd been reading this at any other time I don't think I would have liked it, I think I might have picked it up and read a bit then put it back down and DNF'd it. However, I'm reading books for scary October and this book was creepy and gorey, pretty perfect. There's a lot of blood, a lot of angst, a lot of hair and bones in places you wouldn't imagine. There's lots of humans trying to survive in an inhospitable and gross environment, which focuses on human behaviour and how far would you go to survive. I think this book will haunt me for a while!
