I really like this book it was a great tale with good characters and settings. I received a review copy from NetGalley but the views and opinions expressed herein are my own.

Innatraea Novella One: Small Footsteps really hit the sweet spot for me—classic fantasy vibes with a fresh, character-driven story. Rosalie Sharone is one of those protagonists you can’t help but root for: powerful, brave, and facing a whole lot of emotional and magical challenges as she steps into her destiny. I loved the world of Innatraea and how the magic system unfolded naturally without info-dumping. It reminded me why I love coming-of-age fantasy tales, especially when the stakes are this high. I genuinely didn’t want to put it down and now I’m counting the days until book two.

Ummm HELLO?? This book just cast a spell on me and I’m not even mad about it. 🧙♀️💥 Rosalie is the definition of badass—she’s got magic pulsing through her veins, a kingdom hanging in the balance, and the kind of destiny that makes you go “OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!” I laughed, I gasped, I may have yelled at a few characters (sorry not sorry). If you’re into fierce heroines, ancient orders, and high-stakes magical drama, then honey, this is your next obsession. ✨📚🔥

Innatraea Novella One: Small Footsteps by E.R. Zaugg is a masterpiece! Such a good book. I totally recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can because it's really good and the characters are fantastic.

This novella reminds me of old school fantasy I grew up reading thirty years ago. It has a simplistic feel to it. It's a good story, as we follow the FMC through her childhood and adolescence.
We get a real feel for the three main characters and their personalities. It's quite a character driven story. There are hints of a plot, but I feel this isn't developed sufficiently and leaves the reader confused, especially towards the latter half of the book where more characters are introduced.
The ending is also very abrupt. I definitely feel that this should have been fleshed out into a full length novel instead of a novella to fully realise the plot and continue with the rich worldbuilding that is evident.
I will read more of this story, however, as it shows a lot of promise.
