A surprising and twisty thriller which the story will stay in mind for a while.
Charlotte's husband was found dead next to her. The detective Darcy arrived and she knew she could not take this case as Charlotte was her husband's Bradley mistress. Charlotte told the police that she was innocent and it was Bradley who did it.
The ending blew me away and it was definitely an enjoyable read. It had a slow start and it gave you time to get into the book. The book had dual POVs - Darcy and Charlotte, which gave a fuller story. The narrator performed it very well.
Many thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for my copy.

Loved it! I had a feeling about who did the murder but you spun it perfectly! I only found one error in the audio Chapter 16 10:10 a word is missing. Carla in the kitchen.
Otherwise flawless!

I had the pleasure of receiving an Advanced Listener Copy of My Husband's Mistress by Willow Rose. It was narrated by Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes.
Both narrators did a great job telling the story, and keeping me interested.
The story itself was a thriller that was i wasn't able to put down. Each Chapter ending in a way that I had to keep listening in order to find out what was going to happen next. It was very easy to listen to and enjoyable.
The characters weren't really likeable, you aren't going to be forming any attachments or personal connections with them, they are just part of the story.
The plot twist were unpredictable which i really liked!

This was an interesting story and the audio book was fast paced. The narrator did a great job of telling this story and keeping the audience engaged.
This story has betrayal, and twists and turns that keep on coming.
The story unfolds in alternating POVs from our two FMCs which is easy to follow and intriguing.
You can’t help but try and figure it all out as this mystery unfolds.

MY HUSBAND’S MISTRESS by Willow Rose
This is my 1st book from Willow Rose but certainly will not be my last! I could not put it down once I started it. This psychological thriller is chalk full of intrigue, deception, a murder and it is also full of twists and turns.
I listened to the audio book and the narrators, Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes have done an excellent job. This is 5 stars.

Well, as in true Willow Rose fashion, my jaw is ON THE FLOOR!!!
Darcy is a newly minted detective in Florida. She's married to Bradley, a top notch lawyer from a high falutin family. She never understood how or why he was attracted to her, but here they are, with 5 year old twins! And, she has an older daughter from a prior relationship who gets along pretty well with Bradley too!
BUT...she doesn't fully trust him. And so she follows him... and finds him at a quaint restaurant with a beautiful woman who reeks of money! And so it begins....
Fast forward one year....
We are now at the Kane Residence. It is more like a mansion...dripping with money. The man of the house lies on the floor dead.
The wife... none other than the woman she saw at the restaurant last year with her cheating husband!
THIS IS ONLY JUST THE BEGINNING!!
LIKE... THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES OF THE BOOK!!
SO, No, I did not give the whole book away!!!
What comes next is the meat and potatoes... And, It. Is. Crazy!!!!!
Darcy is assigned to the case.
The wife (Charlotte) says she's not guilty.
But, they need to find out who is!!!
And this will lead you on a wild goose chase... one with jaw dropping twists, and terrifying ideas.
If you like a good psychological thriller, give this one a shot!!!

A quick and interesting whodunit. Detective Darcy White is shocked to see her husbands mistress Charlotte at the scene of a murder. Should she hand off the case to another detective? No one knows she knows the main suspect is having an affair with her husband and she wants to keep it that way and to stay close to the investigation. I liked the writing style and how each chapter was told from each of the two main female characters. A winding road to getting to a very interesting truth. Wonderful narration added to the experience. Uprated to 4 stars from what would have been a 3.5 rating if half stars were available.

My Husband’s Mistress is an unputdownable, or in my case, unpausable thriller that takes readers on one wild ride. Alternating points of view from both the mistress and the jilted wife paint a picture of love and betrayal. Ms. Rose keeps you guessing, second guessing, and then saying “WTF” as each new twist is revealed. I kept thinking I knew who the killer was, but then I would change my mind not one chapter later. I luckily was on spring break and was able to binge listen, because I don’t think I would’ve survived only listening to an hour at a time. I plan to purchase this book (at least the audio version) so I can re-read and re-read it. Thank you, Ms. Rose for allowing me to be one of the early readers/listeners.

I've read a few books by this author now and have been totally obsessed with them all so far!
I spotted the author name on this and grabbed it so fast!
My previous reads have all been parts of series' but this book is a standalone read, so something a little different for me.
Well, I can confirm that I'm just as obsessed with this one!
The characters were brilliantly introduced and developed over the course of the book and even right to the end, I still had no clue who or what to believe!
The reveal still came as a shock to me and I just thought the whole case was really cleverly worked.
I actually can't really say too much about the plot though, because there will definitely be some spoilers in there - but I found that the dual pov chapters really messed with my theory making!
The story follows Darcy investigating the death of a wealthy man and his wife is under suspicion.
Most of the focus is from Darcy's pov, but we soon start hearing from the suspect and this is when things start getting twisted.
Rose has such a way of writing - the settings, the characters and the plotlines are just so precisely mapped out that I just cannot help but become immersed in the whole thing and I honestly struggled to put this down.
I had a few books on the go at this time, but I couldn't stop thinking about this one and kept gravitating back to it.
I definitely need to make more time to check out more books by this author - but with such an impressive backlist, it will take some time!
If you've not read this author before then I'd definitely recommend this as a starting point - it was amazing!
💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

My thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture Audio for allowing me to listen to this arc .
Who killed Edward Kane? Thats what Detective Darcy White must solve. HOWEVER, Darcy gets a big surprise when she goes to interview the victim s wife and learns that Charlotte Kane is the woman her husband had an affair with! Book alternates between the povs of both the women. But then pics surface of Darcy sleeping with Edward. Or did she?
I liked this. Good narration. Easy to follow. Ending a bit underwhelming but I enjoyed.

This was really fun! And a great break from the last few 1 and 2 star thriller reads I've had lately. I thought this was a fun premise, and I really enjoyed the relationship between Darcy and Charlotte. I was on edge, wondering what Charlotte knew, if anything, and she wasn't the only character with secrets. The twists were fun, and it went in a direction that I didn't expect, but worked well.
I received an audiobook copy for review, and thought the two voices were excellent and VERY distinct from each other, which can be tough to do when it's two characters of the same gender and around the same age. However, there was a moment in Chapter 16 where it skipped a line? I don't think it was very important, but I've rarely encountered that before.
Thank you to NetGalley for a review copy. All opinions are my own.

Willow Rose is one of my go to authors and I’ve really enjoyed previous reads but this one just wasn’t for me. Told from the points of view of the main characters Darcey and Charlotte. I found it to be an overly descriptive, dragged out plot with not much happening to the point I was fed up. I found the characters not overly likeable and if anything they got on my nerves. The police investigation was really unbelievable and just didn’t work. It got going somewhat for the last 1/4 of the read but it was underwhelming. Unfortunately not my favourite of this author.
2.5/5 🌟🌟/🌟
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review #MyHusbandsMistress

This twisty thriller had me hooked! I loved this captivating story that kept me guessing. The narrator seemed a little dry at first, but ended up capturing each character's persona as the story unfolded.

This book was so good from the beginning to the end! I love how it was told in alternating viewpoints! It had me hooked and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I enjoyed the narrators in the audiobook.

I enjoyed this book Willow Rose. The characters were compelling and while I had an inkling of who committed the crime, I didn't guess all the twists and turns along the way. Some aspects that I originally though were unrealistic (a detective not catching on to something that seemed obvious) were eventually explained so that everything did in fact make sense. It was a compelling page-turner that I would recommend to friends.

Intriguing read that kept my attention and made me want to stick with the story to figure out what was happening. This story has betrayal, several twists and unexpected revelations that keeps you engaged.
The story follows Darcy, as she tries to work through the complexities of forgiving her adulterous husband, Bradley. She is a detective and called on a case one day to investigate a murder, only to discover that the number one suspect is her husband’s mistress, Charlotte. Darcy knows that she should stay away from this case, but when Charlotte blames the crime on none other than Bradley, Darcy simply can’t stay away. Lines are crossed, webs are weaved as all parties involved make decisions they can’t come back from.
Great narration in this audiobook. The alternating points of view from Darcy & Charlotte was easy to follow & I enjoyed hearing their POVs in 1st person. Recommend for fans of domestic thrillers. Thank you Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for this advanced listening copy. All opinions are my own.

Detective Darcy is called in to investigate the murder and the suspect is not only the victim’s wife, Charlotte, but also who Darcy recognizes as her husband Bradley’s mistress. When Charlotte points the finger at her husband, despite his lies and secrets, she feels the need to solve the murder and find out who the killer is.
If you love authors like Freida McFadden and Jeneva Rose, you will eat this up! This book had me hooked from beginning to end! It will take you on a crazy ride with the twists and turns throughout and leave your jaw on the floor with the last bombshell! I absolutely ate this up and cannot wait to buy the physical book when released March 28th!

This mystery, told from the perspectives of Darcy and Charlotte, Bradley’s mistress, kept me engaged from beginning to end. The dual POV added depth, and the audiobook narration was excellent. The plot was full of surprises, making me question the characters’ motives and anticipate twists. Betrayals and unexpected turns kept the suspense high, leading to a final twist that was both shocking and satisfying. Overall, it was a captivating and well-executed story.
Thank you NetGalley & Bookouture Audio for the ARC!

Willow Rose delivers a tense and emotional thriller in My Husband’s Mistress. When a man is found murdered, Detective Darcey White is pulled into the investigation—only to realize the woman at the center of the case is the same one her husband once had an affair with. The line between personal and professional quickly blurs as Darcey is forced to confront her past while hunting down a killer.
This story had me hooked from the very beginning. The twists were clever, the pacing was tight, and the emotional layers added real depth to the mystery. The audiobook narrator did a great job keeping the suspense alive and capturing Darcey’s internal conflict.
Big thanks to NetGalley for the chance to listen to this gripping audiobook!

My Husband’s Mistress
Publishes March 28, 2025
My Husband’s Mistress by Willow Rose Narrated by Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes. This was a fast paced psychological thriller, I never knew where the next turn was going to take me. Darcy, a detective, who just happens to show up to a crime scene for a case she is set to work, only to see that it involves her husband’s mistress. The fact that Darcys husband and his mistress didn’t know that Darcy knew about their affair or that she was working this case. Darcy has an ethical dilemma of what to do and really added more challenge to the book to leave you wanting more.
This was a very quick read. I enjoyed the dual POV of Darcy and
Charlotte(Bradley’s Mistress) who happens to be Darcys husband. The final twist of this book had my jaw on the floor. I couldn’t believe it, and if this is how all of Willow Rose’s books are I will be adding more to my TBR pile!
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ALC audiobook. This review is voluntary and all my own words.
