It was just OK. My first time reading this author and just something wasn't connecting me with the plot and characters. it was a solid book and entertaining for what it was.

While this book is labeled as an erotica especially with the book cover alone. I guess that’s what they say don’t judge a book by its cover because there was spice but it was the main focus of this book. This book follows our MMC Andre’ as he is recently released from prison after serving 20 years and him trying to find himself and acclimate back into the world that he once knew. Andre goes to Jonyae's retreat and even though he is skeptical about it, we witness healing and transformation. The book provides a meaningful depiction of Andre's challenges and personal growth. However, I wish there had been more exploration of his pivotal moments, especially given the significant topic of healing for black men, particularly those who have experienced incarceration. I love Andre and Jonayes chemistry and found myself rooting for them. This wasn’t what I thought I signed myself up for but definitely did not regret the ride.

This novel offers a compelling exploration of re-entry and healing through the story of Andre, a man navigating life after serving 20 years in prison. The narrative powerfully illustrates the challenges of acclimating to freedom while carrying the weight of past trauma.
What stands out most about this book is its focus on a Black man's healing journey—a perspective that remains underrepresented in literature. Through Andre's experiences at an intimacy retreat, facilitated by his sister's support, we witness the beginning of his transformation. The retreat serves as a pivotal turning point that reshapes his future in unexpected ways.
While the book offers a meaningful portrayal of Andre's struggles and growth, I found myself wanting more insight into his breakthrough moments. The narrative could have benefited from deeper exploration of his healing process, particularly regarding how his training at the retreat specifically addressed his trauma. These details would have enhanced the already powerful story of his rehabilitation.
Andre's relationship with Jonaye was particularly engaging, creating an emotional investment in their potential connection. Their chemistry and interactions were so well-developed that I found myself genuinely rooting for them to end up together.
Overall, "Andres AirB&Queen" makes an important contribution to literature by centering the often-overlooked journey of healing for formerly incarcerated Black men. Despite wanting more depth in certain aspects of Andre's transformation, the book succeeds in highlighting the challenges of reintegration and the possibility of redemption through connection and intentional healing work.

This is labeled as erotica and which it does have spicy scenes, but it's also about healing, deep intimate, redemption, and self-discovery. This was a little different to me, and it took me by surprise, but I'm happy that I picked this book up. A quick, easy read.
For 20 years, Andre sat behind bars because of a street-op that went wrong. He thought his release day would be the first step in a new life—only to step into a world where friends, family, exes, and life itself had all moved on without him. Lost, angry, and with the old guilt and trauma of that night bubbling back to the surface, Andre wonders if he’s better off staying behind bars forever. Andre goes to Jonyae's retreat, convinced that a 40-year-old Black felon has nothing left to offer this world. But not even his hard outer shell will keep Jonyae from getting to the sensitive Black man underneath and all the potential just waiting to be teased, loved, and encouraged into the sunlight.
