My Grandma’s a Ninja by Todd Tarpley is an absolute joy from start to finish! The story follows young Ethan, whose grandma isn't your typical sweet old lady—she’s a full-blown ninja! Tarpley’s playful writing and the vibrant, action-packed illustrations make this book an energetic whirlwind of fun. I loved how Grandma’s ninja skills, from sneaky stealth to throwing stars, turn ordinary events like school and soccer into hilarious adventures. The humor is infectious, and the heartwarming bond between Ethan and his grandma makes it all the more special. If you’re looking for a story that will have kids (and adults!) laughing out loud, My Grandma’s a Ninja is an instant favorite—full of surprises, ninja moves, and a whole lot of love.
This book was very entertaining and my grandson loved it. There is a message behind the story and readers are sure to appreciate it.
Many thanks to North South Books zinc and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Very cool idea for a book, and an excellent execution of that idea. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Recommended. .
